I have found my new Publix home. I avoided shopping here on a regular basis for many years because the parking is disastrous, but I am willing to put up with that now and make this my regular Publix. After two shopping experiences, I am blown away by the difference as the Publix across the street is deplorable. The staff here is friendly and helpful. Every item I've wanted on sale or not has been in stock. They have every type of publix branded cheese available including the shaved Italian mix and crumbled goat cheese. So far the produce selection has been stellar. They also had a full seafood counter with everything in stock. Perhaps Publix is still a pleasure if you go to the right store. read more

Publix has officially lost my respect as a customer. I've shopped at Publix my entire life -- literally since I was a kid. As an adult, I was my grandmother's caregiver when she could no longer shop for herself. She would send me with her check, her ID, and I'd show my ID. This was never an issue. Ever. Fast forward to now -- I'm caring for my dad. He's feeble, can't walk well, can't hear well, and cannot comprehend things the way he used to. I handle his grocery shopping. I did it three weeks ago the exact same way. No problem. Today? Suddenly I'm told, "No, you're not on the check. It's our policy. We can't accept it." When I asked when the policy changed, I was told it never changed and whoever helped me before was "wrong." I'm calling BS on that. So let me get this straight -- I can present his ID, my ID, I'm clearly the caregiver, and you're still refusing the check? For elderly people who still use checks because that's what they know? Yes, checks may be old school -- but so are a lot of your loyal customers. The ones you claim to care so much about. Thankfully, I had the money in my own account today, and going forward I'll be fine -- I have a better-paying job starting soon. But that's not the point. The point is this policy (or the way it's being enforced) is ridiculous, inconsiderate, and completely disconnected from reality. Between this experience and the way it was handled, I will no longer be shopping at Publix. After a lifetime of loyalty, this was the final straw. Do better. read more

This has been a store I've shopped in since I was in high school. This has been my favorite publix in the area. I stopped in to get something for dinner and to pick up a few items. It was around 6, so I'm not really late . The hot and cold bar looked horrible. Dried up items, and there really wasn't much salad. So, I decided to get a sub instead . They sub was ok, I had to ask for my spinach, very light on the spinach, and he put 4 slices of cucumber on a whole sub, yes, 4 slices. On the positive side, he was so light with the items my bread didn't get soggy . I had the other half the next night, and it still wasn't soggy , so there was an upside :-) I'm going to have to say it's not my favorite publix anymore. We have used this Publix for probably 20+ years and usually have good experiences, however, my mother went to this location this morning wanting to purchase gift cards for Christmas (and bought groceries) and was treated rather rudely. She went up to guest services to ask what the limit was for gift cards - she has 5 adult children, their spouses, and 7 grandchildren to buy for. That's a total of 17 gift cards so not an outlandish question to ask. The cashier responded to my mom's question with: "What an odd thing to ask. I don't understand. What do you mean? Why do you need to know?" My mom responded that she didn't want to go pick out a bunch of gift cards and then get to the register and not be able to purchase all of them. The cashier went on to ask, "what are you buying them for?" My mom shared that she was buying gifts for her family. Apparently, this went on for several moments and the cashier never did answer my mom's question. She left in near tears and several hours later is still really upset that she was treated like she was some sort of suspicious person of interest. My mom is a rule follower through and through, she knows that there are scams involving gift cards and she knows there's limits, hence the simple question which warranted a simple answer - not an interrogation. Is that how Publix treats it's guests? Absolutely unacceptable. read more

This store is clean and well lit. The parking lot is fairly large and the store is located in a strip mall. Prices were a little on the high side, but I didn't do any massive shopping and only picked up a couple of things. I liked that the beer section featured some local brews. There is also a liquor store on the premise. Checkout was kind of slow unfortunately. read more

This was a nice Publix in the St. Petersburg area. Great selection and very clean and friendly associates. It was in a perfect location as we are headed in to our hotel. read more

Clean, friendly, huge layout and amazing subs!! Believe or not, we were back in town from Seattle and had to make a special stop to get a Publix sub. These things are legendary. Our absolute go to is the buffalo chicken tender sub. The bread is so fresh and soft, the tenders so crisp and delicious, and the veggies to top it all off! The stop was well worth it, now expand to the west coast already! :) read more

I love this Publix. They carry evvvverything. If you're new to Publix, try their Publix brand items. I buy quite a few of them. Also an excellent selection of Greenwise and gluten free items. The butchers and fish dept. are helpful and friendly. It does get packed, like some of the other reviews say but if you hit any grocery store around 5p I think that's to be expected, duh! I'm writing this because today was a second time in 2 weeks I was very surprised how carelessly and nonchalantly I almost got overcharged and they act like it's ok. Two weeks ago we got our groceries and when we were at the register we asked about getting a gas card and how we can save $10. We were informed that when we purchase $50 worth of groceries while the deal is running we can get $50 gas gift card for $40. We got 2 of those that day. On our way to the car I noticed we were charged full $50 for both. So I went back to customer service and they refunded my money, I was really annoyed thinking how easy it is to loose $20. Today we got a bag of cherries because they were on sale for $3 a pound. The lady at the register charged us $12.20 for it, mind you it was a small prepackaged bag, priced by weight. I pointed it out to her and she said it was 6 lbs. I tried to argue to her that it's not possibly 6 lbs, maybe your scale is not working. She weighted it again, no change. All this time she has this annoyed attitude about her. I ask her to use next register's scale, it turns out it went from $12.20 /6lbs/ to $11.78 /not sure about the weight, couldn't see/. Her respond was 'oh it's just few cents'. At that point I'm insulted due to her nonchalant stands on what's right and wrong, lack of customer service and smirks she shut at me when I asked for a manager. Manager came, didn't really resolved or explained anything but ended up giving the cherries to us for free. That said I weighed the cherries at home, they were 2 lbs /$6/. Treating your customers like they don't know the difference between 2 and 6 lbs, or that 6 lbs would cost more than $12 to begin with. The attitude was horrible. I know it's only few dollars for some but this is a place we shop at 2-3 times a week, just makes me think, when I don't pay attention. read more

Used to always go to the publix on the left side of the street but I'm officially on team right side publix. I've done about 100 instacart orders there in the past few weeks and I can't get over how nice and helpful all of the employees are. I know it's probably annoying having people come up to you all day asking where items are or if there's stuff in the back. But they always seem genuinely happy to help. Also out of all of the stores I've been to doing instacart, this store has been the best stocked store and best selection. read more

It seems to be hit or a miss in the Daly department there. Today was big time miss! I was one of maybe 3 people waiting to be served and about 4-5 workers behind the counter. I got distracted by the huge quantity of the product and missed my number called. There was nobody with number after me ( worker continued counting) and woman got little frustrated on my late response. She spoke with me like l am picking food in her own fridge! Which doesn't make me feel to look for too many products. Got couple lunch meats and run away. Sure, i will have to come back as it closest store to my house but somebody need to have a talk about customer service there ( i didn't see this worker there before and hope not to run into her again) read more

Big with exceptional service. I've never used the deli/sub shop so the previous reviewer may well be right. But, the store itself is BIG they have a huge well stocked produce department. They have a great meat department etc.. etc... The staff are very friendly and VERY helpful. One day I was looking for rye flower. The guy I asked told me it was going to take him a few minutes to find it and for me to continue shopping and he would find me and bring it to me when he found it. (really, he did I promise). And they're ALL like that all the time as far as I can tell. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because I've been in stores in other places that are better stocked. (I'd ... well I'd do something drastic for a big Harris Teeter or a Trader Joe's) But this is the best that I've found in Pinellas county. read more

I had an assistant manager today at Publix, NORTHEAST PLAZA, threaten to call the police on me because I was taking a picture of a customer with no mask covering their face checking out. They wouldn't call the police on the person without the mask properly on, but would call the police on me. They told me I was not allowed to film in a private space and the store was a private space. I informed them that because the first thing that happens when I walk in the Publix is that I go on film, and there was no notice saying no filming, that Publix cannot then turn around and bar me from taking pictures of illegal acts. Also pointed out that I was also taking pictures of an unlawful act by the customer and the store, I could preserve the record. Two days prior I pointed out to the same manager employees wearing masks on their chins in the meat department. It is disgusting that they threaten me for taking pictures of them condoning illegal acts! read more

Awesome supermarket but it's totally crazy busy like all of the time. If you can get by without a shopping cart, do it. Otherwise you'll be playing shopping cart derby while you're there. I shopped at this publix this morning and usually a few times a week sometimes multiple times a day seeing as how I live in Shore Acres and it's very convenient. Sadly, I will not be returning after my poor customer service experience today. I had my 10 month old daughter with me and asked the customer service staff if they can get someone to help me shop "push the cart" to be exact, I was told I had to wait. I decided to finish shopping on my own because I have a schedule to keep with my little one. Meanwhile, I look over to my right and notice their "team leader" shooting the breeze with a fellow coworker. My husband and I easily spend $300 to $500 a day on groceries, after today we will be taking our business elsewhere! read more

Until I got to this store I wasn't too wild about Publix. This store changed all that. Yeah its crowded, because EVERYONE wants to shop here!!! Other than that issue, they have great selections everywhere in the store but the BEER AISLE! Someone please fix the beer selection, PLEASE. The other common denominator with this store is that every time they get an employee that's got a clue, they get moved or they quit. Seems a shame! I would not recommend ordering a sub online here. I order 4 of the same subs at 11:45. The email said they would be ready at 12:30. I prepaid online, so when I showed up at 12:45, I expected them to be in the little pick up station. They weren't, so we asked about the order. They said they ran out of wheat bread and had to bake more so it would be another 10 mins. No big deal, we waited in the car for another 15 mins. When we came back 1 out of 4 subs was done. We waited, then asked again. They said any minute. 10 minutes later we got 2 more subs. 10 minutes after that we got our last sub. When we opened them, we found that they had forgotten to put 2 of the required meats on, and to top it off had simply thrown the only meat they did include on top of all the veggies as if it were an afterthought. I would like to give a shout out to the store manager for this Publix. I was having an emergency wedding cake crisis and the store manager went above and beyond to help me. The wedding cake designer forgot to include a crucial piece of the design, the fondant flower topper. The manager personally delivered fondant flowers for my cake and gave me a gift card, which I definitely wasn't expecting. I just wanted to say thank you and I truly appreciate your help! read more

I go to this Publix often. I have always had a great experience with the service! Every time I go in there, if I do not see what I am looking for there are plenty of associates on the floor and available to help with a smile! Not only are they helpful but coming from a retail background, it is great to see them all working and not just slacking off! I always go to a specific cashier when I am there. he has a NY accent and he is the friendliest personable cashier I have ever encountered. He is very helpful and treats every person the same without judgement. read more

I really really hate coming to this Publix. The store itself is mostly fine but I think the parking lot was designed by a scientist who generally designs mazes for lab rats. Just while trying to find a parking space, I nearly have an accident about ten times so I try to park far away to limit my time navigating it. Then while walking it's another obstacle trying to walk between cars in this odd space of mismatched slanted spots. I've mostly stopped shopping at publix all together for this reason. But also because their selection of organic products is quite slim and I can find all I need at local natural food stores. Maybe the new publix they are rebuilding across the street (which I insist was perfectly fine as it was) will solve this matter. read more

While in general I have always liked Publix this week I had a horrible experience. I bought one of their blue cheese burgers from the meat counter. I didn't make it until lunch the next day. After having completed almost the entire burger I found a piece of glass in the burger. When I called the store to let them know the manager Mike blew me off saying that they don't allow glass in that part of the store. That may be there policy but there was certainly glass in my burger. I am grateful that I am fine and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I plan on buying my meats at another store in the future. read more

I LOVE shopping at Publix stores, and this is one of the best I've ever been to. Customer service at Publix is always the best. Although the other reviewer is not very happy with the deli service, I've always been treated like a king at Publix. The deli subs are DELICIOUS, as is their chicken and salads. The bakery always pumps out fresh, delicious bread, rolls, and cakes. The produce department is always filled with fresh fruits and veggies, and this store especially churns out great food, especially in the organic department. I LOVE the beer selection in this store. I live and die with Samuel Adams beer, and this store has the best selection of Sam I've ever seen in a grocery store. Lots of craft brews as well as the usual American beers. The entire store is well-stocked, clean, and they always offer up great deals, especially the BOGOs. Also stoked at the attached liquor store- I really wish my local Publix had one, I would save a ton of money by shopping there (although the beer selection is way better in the actual Publix). I don't know what it is with this Publix that sets it apart from all the other's I've reviewed, but this store RULES. I wish I lived in the area, I'd be in here almost daily. This location and size of this Publix doesn't work for this area. To accommodate the amount of traffic this Publix gets, it's needs to be a lot bigger. Fortunately, there's another, more easily accessible Publix right across the street... Go there instead! No matter what hour you're going, you're going to have problems parking. The parking lot design is horrendous! There's a section of diagonal lanes and other sections of north/south spaces and just flat out not enough for all the stores in this shopping center. A tip is to park in a lot behind the building, accessible by first street. Inside the store, again, it's too small, so forgetaboutit if you're going during prime hours. This still gets three stars because the staff is always friendly and well managed. And the store is well lit, clean and organized. If you work off hours and can make it when it's less crowded, you're OK to go here. If you're just looking get in and get out or having to shop during prime hours definitely go somewhere else. read more

Feeling very frustrated. Just rushed to Publix at NE Shopping Center to pick up Josh's birthday cake before the swim meet and it's not ready. Just 15 minutes they say. This is a very nice upscale Publix. They offer online deli ordering and have a nice sushi bar, It does get a bit busy on Sundays but overall this is a very nice Publix. read more
