Now, less than a week later, our home is completely offline because of the shoddy work that was done. The main trunk line they re-ran for us was completely inadequately finished, leaving exposed and frayed cabling next to the cap. When we tried to tighten the connection to the cable modem, the cable fell right out of the cap and now we have no way of using any of their expensive cabling work. I have been knocked offline in the middle of a workday and I'm just shocked they wouldn't have better quality control on the termination of the MAIN CABLE into our home. I'm losing billable hours due to the negligence of the installation crew. We had high hopes after working with the sales folks and we even expanded the bid on site to do an extra power run but I am now regretting our choices as at least before we worked with AMR we were limping along with internet. Now we have none and we have thousands less in the bank to prove it. UPDATE: It's even worse than we thought. Once the trunk line was fixed (both ends needed to be replaced) we discovered that the Ethernet lines that had been run were still dropping most packets. Had to have them remake all of the Ethernet connections they ran for us. What did we pay for? I sure hope the electrical work they suggested to us wasn't up to these same low standards, but I don't know how we would check that.

You'll be prompted for a $400 tip that you have to click off of or adjust while the technician is standing there watching. This is project-based bid work. It could just be that, since the software supported it, the technician was rolling the dice to see if he could get lucky. But, this really makes me concerned that this company is low-balling bids and shorting their techs a fair pay because of an expectation that the homeowner will tip them out 20% on top the project. I think cash tipping is reasonable if you think the service was fantastic, but I was just a bit surprised to be presented with that expectation when closing out the project.

Well, I'm sorry to say that I was wrong. The contractor Generac gave us took $350 dollars, waited two weeks for the service call because they wanted the money up front. Then when they finally showed up they made up the flimsiest reasons why they wouldn't repair the generator under warranty. In fact, they won't work on it at all unless I pay them more. Our Generac was faulty from the factory, and this company seems to be ok with that. I ended up fixing it myself.
