This is a cute locally owned place. It is a nice hidden gem where people can come and drink coffee and get some work done. I met a classmate here and we get to get some studying in. There were a few students there as well. The staff there is helpful and friendly. I ended up getting a regular caramel frappe. I asked for half of the amount of sugar they typically put in and it was just right! I think if I got the regular caramel frappe it would be toothachingly sweet. The only down side to this place it that it closes at 6 because it is locally owned. But other than that it's a great place! read more

Great little coffee shop. It's the half way point for myself and my buddy in crofton so I stop by once a week. Their lattes are really tasty and I've tried a few of the menu items and have yet to be disappointed. Honey bee latte is really delicious and the chicken salad sandwich is good if you are in the mood for such a thing. I'd say their pastries are overpriced for how they taste, but other than that, no complaints. read more

An intimate place for a stunning cup of coffee. Really, I was stunned at the first sip. The espresso jumped up from the latte and sapped me right in the back of the head like a level 12 rogue who caught me flat-footed. I tried to Honey-bee latte and I was expecting a sugary-syrupy-gooey lunchtime dessert - what I got, in addition to an espresso rogue swatting me in the head with flavor, was a light, flavorful cup of smooth honey and toffe aromas and a hint of sugar that just enhance the gentle bite of the espresso. As someone who used to work in a sort-of-coffee-chain (*cough CHARBUCKS cough*) I hadn't realized that I got used to the burnt, rancid oil taste of cheap espresso. Hence the really awesome rogue of flavore sapping me. I'd be willing to give them 5 stars but I was a bit put off by the price and the lack of space-comfort; what I mean is that they have one of those high-bar-table-tavern-thigies in addition to more tradtiional seating. Huh, like a tavern, that explains the rogue attack. It's not currently a place I'd be happy to sit and contemplate my coffee in, otherwise - it's the bee's knees! UPDATE: Having visited several times since my initial intrusion, the intimacy of the place really adds to the atmosphere, instead of taking away from it. There's no need to shout your order, and people are forced in a pleasant way to be social with one another. A great little place to be. read more

Went here for the first time this weekend. Very friendly staff that welcome you as you enter. The set-up is very nice with a lot of natural wood. Everything is very clean and well situated. I had a chocolate croissant which they offered to heat up for me....awesome..big fan! Also had a coffee which was perfect as well. I will be heading back for sure. read more

I love going here. Their drinks and pastries are really good. Today I had and Angels Kiss- White chocolate and raspberry mocha and a Cherry Almond croissant and both were heavenly. The place is always clean and everyone is always friendly. My only issue is that they are always super busy so sometimes it's hard to nab a seat or table. Great to see a real Coffee shop in Crownsville. It was tough driving 30+ mins round trip for a decent coffee. The shop looks great and the owners Mark and Shannon have done a great job with the food and drinks. They make the best Mocha I have had since living in San Francisco and the same goes for my wife's Latte's. The cookies are fresh and delicious. The bagel breakfast sandwiches are tasty, and the smoothies are great as well. They have only been open a few weeks but we have already been there at least ten times since it is that good. read more

I live nearby and so I wanted this place to become my go to coffee place - so far it has not, but not really through any fault of theirs. It's a really cute shop with a great atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff. The food is also nice, and my husband has enjoyed their smoothies. So far I've had about half of their signature lattes and have not yet been able to find a 'go to' drink for myself. I had a similar issue in Hawaii, where it took me a while to get used to Kona coffee beans, so I wonder if maybe Bean Rush uses different coffee beans than I'm used to, or roasts them in a way that makes it taste different than my standard cup of coffee - and perhaps that's where I'm going wrong, maybe next time I'll skip the Latte and just get a cup of coffee. I don't mind continuing my search for a go to drink here, though. When I first walked into Bean Rush I was excited. It looks like exactly like what you would expect from a coffee shop. It's very laid-back and you don't mind staying a while to enjoy your food, or to meet with friends. read more

The atmosphere was pretty hip and cool. The staff was friendly as well. Unfortunately I got the veggie panini and it seemed like they had just boiled the veggies and put them on the bread without seasoning them. So they were just very hot, without flavor, and with minimum texture. However the bread was toasted to perfect!!! I'm not willing to condem this shop purely because of one not super fantastic sandwich. I think it'd just be worth trying something else off of the menu. read more

Bean Rush is amazing. The owners are super amiable, and man do they know coffee. The secret to Bean Rush is manyfold; Firstly, they source their coffee beans through co-ops and fair trade companies exclusively to ensure that their beans are of the highest caliber. Secondly, they actually roast their beans in-store. The beans are served precisely when they ought to be, just after degassing, and as such, it's pretty hard to beat. They don't offer many of the beans that epicureans tend to target the most (e.g., Kona, Blue Mountain, etc.), but the beans they do carry, and their treatment of them, amounts to a world class cup of coffee at trailer park prices. I'm honestly perplexed as to how this restaurant has a less than five star average, but acknowledging that every person has their very own sets of taste buds, if it isn't too far out of the way, I would most fervently suggest trying Bean Rush out for yourself. read more

For years and years I was so faithful to the Wawa right next door. When I saw signs for this place crop up, I was all "psh, who do they think they are? This is a working class neighborhood. Aint nobody got time for that". But then i had this frothy, deep, lovingly crafted latte. Apparently I had forgotten what it meant to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Not in a paper cup with powdered creamer. but in a ceramic mug with real milk and plenty of time to sip. This is where I go for special treat. They deserve your patronage. read more

My wife and are are coffee snobs (my wife was a barrista at a very popular coffee shop in Carmel, CA for many years) and were a little skeptical at first that a good coffee place would be located "off the beaten path" as it were. I got the Honey Bee Latte and my wife a normal everyday mocha. Hands down, it was some of the best coffee either of us has ever had. They have a wide selection of interesting mochas and lattes in flavor combos I never thought of before and the best part is they roast their own beans in-store. Always wanted to go here finally went with a friend it was tooncute everyone close to me knows i am a coffee addict and love cafes! This place was very cute and had a very extensive coffee and sandwitch menu . I am only sad because i assumed being my first time if you were drinking there you would automaticly get the huge mugs with cool design .... o well next time. This is my favorite local coffee shop. I normally go for breakfast, which is great, but am going to try them for lunch today. I've stopped adding sugar to my coffee for health reasons, and one thing I love about their espresso/lattes is that with cream it almost has its own natural sweetness, not bitter, so I am not missing the sugar at all. read more
