The service was good. I ordered ahead on the app a pumpkin bread with icing to go. This location is huge and busy! Best to order in advance and pick up. It took 15 minutes from order placed to order completion. The staff were friendly. I'd come back, especially with all the ample seating and free Wifi. There is a nearby lot you could park at or opt for street parking.

Always great to come here! I'm such a fan of this place. So comfy and a place to gather and shoot the breeze or do your homework! Get the Cherry blossom cold brew in season! It tastes like strawberry new quick milk!

This cafe is the best hangout place on this side of town. It's even better when you can find a table and chair! I got here right at 10am for my daily cappuccino and the service was awesome as usual, but finding a place to sit and chill wasn't so easy. This place is huge compared to some of their other places in the city, but still its usually jam packed led in the mornings. Soon enough though I found a spot at the cafe bar and proceeded to open my laptop and check emails. It's really chill here, and everyone here is super nice. On days when it's not so hot and humid, it's also fun to take a seat outside. They also make a kicking expresso, and their regular coffee is also good.

    My order. It's seriously perfect.

This is my second visit to this Compass Coffee. Honestly I was already very much looking forward to make this stop. It is very convenient for me that they stay open until 6 pm as I have much writing to do after work. The open area inside is very spacious for a coffee shop and there is plenty of seating. Other patrons seem to be taking advantage of the ambience and thus they are taking time reading or using their laptops while delicious coffee is enjoyed. I did not have to wait long in line after stepping in. The young woman who took my order for an iced quad breve mocha was very kind and polite and professional. The coffee is very good here and I also see that they offer a nice selection of pastries. The restrooms are clean as well! I'll be coming back for certain.

    Almond butter latte - delicious!!

The Almond Butter Latte is a must have! I have never been able to drink any coffee without any sweetener - until I met the Almond Butter Latte at Compass. So. Good!! I also enjoy the cold brews and matcha latte but the almond butter latte is in a class of its own. The baristas and staff are so friendly, so warm and always entertain my requests for drink referrals. The shop itself is large with plenty of seating, clean bathrooms and plenty of parking out front. Best coffee in the city, hands down.

Great coffee, nice ample sitting inside, and reasonable outside. Very friendly employees. It's a good experience, we come back almost daily.

    Comfy spot in back

I caught up with a friend for two hours one Friday morning, and this hip, bright, tasty coffee shop was buzzing the whole time. We could barely find a seat around 10:15am. (The spot was less than half full by about 11:30/noon.) A lot of thought has gone into the space. I always appreciate a spot that has many different seating options, like very comfy seating in the back, a kids area, a few tables, high top chairs at a bar, and lower tables toward the front. (I wish the stools in the front were a little more comfy, though.) The people working here all seemed very cool, chill. They chatted but maintained efficiency in handling the bursts of customers. The coffee was good! I got a smooth latte with skim milk, and it was on point and made quickly. I look forward to my next opportunity to come by.

The coffee is ok, but not worth $6.50 for black iced coffee. They also moved comically slow for how many people were working there.

Lots of seating inside and some outside for when the weather gets nice. The pastries look so delicious and appealing. I got the GF Passionfruit Krembo pastry for $7.50, it is made with coconut base and the top was a passion fruit mousse. Quite delicious. I also got the Matcha latte $5.00 hot drink. The bathrooms are clean, which is expected since it's a new place. There's a large selection of GF items and big selection of drinks too. I will definitely come back to try their salads and to have a nice fresh brewed coffee. The young lady who took my order was pretty friendly and explained the ingredients and patiently answered my questions.

Waffled between 1 and 2 stars - didn't hate the place but the 1 star description of 'Not good'…read morereally captures my experience so I'm going with it. On the upside - found free parking, the restaurant is large and seeming clean, and the 'ambiance', as is often noted by reviewers, is bright and cheerful. Our food, such as it was, came quickly. On the downside - my wife and I were at the end of a 7 or so customer line, which moved fairly well. When it was our turn, however, with no one behind us - well, the 2 cashiers who 'take your order' just stopped doing that. No eye contact - one turned away to get a drink for a customer (OK got that) and the other just... turned away. That's it - she just turned her back on us and gazed off towards the kitchen as if we didn't exist. Ouch. It took a bit of a wait, then three 'Hello?' (Hello?? HELLO??) before she sullenly turned and took our order. A bad start. I ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich - yum, right? - and my wife ordered the Turkey Avocado sandwich. Chips available? Nope. Soda? Well we have some lemonade. Fine. (Well, not really. The lemonade - from a can, not made by Tatte - had plenty of lemon. What it didn't have was much if any sweetener. Yikes) Where to sit? Well good luck. On this hot day more than half the indoor seats were taken by solo 'diners' sipping on water while browsing on laptops - the other had actual customers. Outside we went. Guess Tatte wants that Starbucks you-don't-have-to-eat-just-take-all-the-seats vibe. Our sandwiches arrived and things went more downhill. In their defense I now see the picture of the 'Short Rib Grilled Cheese' sandwich on the web site is accurate - it looks like a car accident (check it out). The barely grilled bread contained LOTS AND LOTS of beet-horseradish relish - what it didn't contain was much short rib (maybe a tablespoon spread thinly) and if you could see or taste any cheese you're doing better than I did. It was pretty much a beet-horseradish relish sandwich - I ate about half before bailing. My wife's sandwich looked a bit better - hey there's some turkey! - but she said it was flavorless. Guess we could have headed into the laptop restaurant for salt but we were too lazy. Quite confused by the (non-laptop) crowd that frequents this place, mostly 'women who lunch' who seemed quite happy, but after browsing the reviews I think you may like this place if you get some coffee and a pastry. I'll never find out.

Quantum. call me Ishmael…read more Call me famished. Some hours ago--never mind how long precisely--having little or no provisions in the pantry, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would stroll about Georgetown and see the Levantine offerings of the city. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the digestion. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before mediocre sandwich shops, and bringing up the rear of every uninspired lunch line; and especially whenever my hunger gets such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off--then, I account it high time to get to Yellow as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the cafe. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same maritime longing towards a perfectly wood-fired pita. Stand at the counter of Yellow, your eyes fixed upon that golden, puffy vessel, blistered from the hearth. Why did the old Persians hold the sea holy? Why did the Greeks give it a separate deity? I found my answer when I plunged into the hummus--a swirling, creamy expanse of whipped chickpea, earthy za'atar, and rich sesame. As every one knows, meditation and tahini are wedded for ever. The pita, warm and impossibly soft, served as my vessel, navigating the golden pools of olive oil just as a Nantucket ship cuts through the Atlantic. There is magic in that dough, pulling you away from the shore of the mundane and into a deeper, richer abyss of flavor. If you are feeling a damp drizzle in your soul, do not take to the sea to drive off the spleen. Take to Yellow. Five stars.

We ordered two drinks: lychee tea and volcano mango. The lychee tea was nothing special, and the volcano mango was supposed to come with a seasoned mango and tajín eatable "straw", but we got a regular one instead. When we asked about it, the staff just said they'd run out. No apology, no heads up until we asked. It felt dismissive. The staff seemed inexperienced overall. I initially assumed this was a self kiosk ordering kind of place, but the second visit made it feel more like a sit down restaurant.
