Sorry Dutch Bros I swear I wasn't cheating on you lol. After a long drive to Reno this was the perfect place to get coffee and gas up. At first glance it doesn't seem as if it is connected to a gas station, because it definitely gave off a coffee shop vibes. Although the staff was super friendly I didn't find out that they had a drive thru until I finished ordering & gassing up. This made it Even better. The menu had a great selection and I really enjoyed the food as well. The coffee was strong and so delicious.I got a Carmel macchiato and hot chocolate mocha macchiato. Surprisingly, it was not too sweet. We were hungry so we added a sausage egg croissant sandwich and a turkey pesto panini sandwich to go. I am definitely going to recommend this place and am going to see if there are any more locations. A must try for any road trip on the way back or to Reno. read more

We stopped here today on our way to Reno. We got the turkey pesto panini to share. This is a nice sammi to share and eat in the car. It's tasty, but not messy. They had nice clean restrooms and share the space with a mini-mart and gas station. It's a nice spot for rest break. We'll try the coffee next trip. read more

We were looking for our morning caffeine fix and were excited to find Beans & Brews. We stopped in about 10am on a Wednesday morning and opted to go through the drive-thru. We were immediately greeted and were happy to hear they had sugar free syrup and almond milk. We placed our orders for 24 oz sugar free vanilla lattes and proceeded to the window. The woman working was friendly and efficient and we were on the road in no time. Our drinks tasted delicious too. In a small town, there are not many breakfast places to choose from. Connected to the gas station was Beans & Brews Coffeehouse. We saw that they had a drive-thru so we decided to give them a shot for breakfast. Luckily, they had breakfast sandwiches and weren't just a coffeehouse. The people working were so nice and everything in our order came out fairly quick. The breakfast sandwiches on the other hand were subpar and puny. The B Original, the biggest of the bunch, was disappointing especially since this is their signature sandwich. The cheese wasn't melted and it was cold, like it was just slabbed on the roll. The sausage tasted off and ruined the whole sandwich. However, the ciabatta roll was soft and tasted really good. The other sandwiches that we got were mostly just croissant. There was hardly any meat and small for the price. My sister seemed to enjoy her B Cheesy with pesto, but I opened it and again there was hardly anything inside. The road between Las Vegas and Tonopah is long and lonely. You really aren't going to find much in terms of food and beverage except what's available in mini marts/gas stations - so on a recent drive to Tonopah, I was so happy to have found Beans and Brews so that I could endulge in an iced mocha. The coffee bar is inside the mini mart of a 76 Station but it is a separate entity - with a pretty good drink menu (hot, iced, blended coffee options), pastries, and snacks. It's very clean - actually the whole mini mart was clean - and the gals working the coffee bar were nice. My iced mocha was very good. Chocolate-y - which is what I was craving. I wish that there was more ice in my cup because my drink never got very cold. I also could have done without the whipped cream (actually more of a whipped "topping" which pretty much sat in my cup in its original form for the next 5 hours) but hey - the plusses definitely outweigh the minuses. When you are in the middle of the desert, places like Beans and Brews are a rare gem! read more

Beans and Brews is like Starbucks but not as good. The food menu is pretty extensive and puts S-Buks to shame, but the coffee? It's just adequate. Four stars for the nice people behind the counter and the very clean facilities. Little know fact, this location used to be the home of the worst McDonalds in Nevada! There is plenty of parking for RV's and Semi's in the dirt lot, but be mindful of the potholes. The car lot is paved and well lit and has gas pumps. read more

Starbucks-prices for gas-station coffee/coffeedrinks, and lackluster service. We asked about a menu item, "what is the caramel cielo?" The attendant looked confused, so we repeated the question. The answer? "Oh. I don't know. I don't drink here." Right, you just work here. Is that what they told you when you were hired, that if you're not drinking the product, you don't need to know what your menu items are? And the fact that you don't drink here, phrased as if it were a bar, doesn't exactly inspire consumer confidence. Anywho, coffee drinks were average, a 3-star experience. But for the customer service who didn't even call out when our burritos were ready and the lack of even an attempt to learn what their own menu offered? Eh. $20 (TWENTY!) for two small coffee drinks and two of the least expensive breakfast sandwiches. Yikes. Tonopah doesn't have much, but there IS better and more for the same price or less if you just look a bit closer to town. read more

Lots of travelers in and out this morning so the people watching and causal conversations have been more often than expected. The breakfast sandwich was not frozen and then microwaved. Bacon and egg were cooked just right surrounded by a soft and fresh croissant. Ice green tea is in 32 oz large option so I was happy. Plenary of staff working for the constant visitors this morning. I am coffee snob - ok, thats established. I cant drink most generic coffees because i get jittery and even sick sometimes. For a small, remote, ghost town, I was pleasantly surprised with Bean & Brews which offers organic coffee. Their regular brew was not bad! It gave me the pick-me-up i needed to make another full day of driving toward Reno without the jitters. I also had a breakfast snack which they were able to make vegetarian. I recommend stopping in! On our way to Tahoe we stopped for gas and needing a caffeine boost, we came inside. It looked brand spankin' new, so I inquired about how long they'd been open. Only a couple weeks the little barista said. Americanos, lattes, espresso, frozen coffee drinks, nice pastry display and a wall with a gorgeous selection of tasty teas, very nice!! Complete with a drive up window and adjacent is a convenience store for a cola Icee or hot dogs circling in the wiener warmer, a can of mini Pringles or a bag of sunflower seeds, it's a nice, clean place. Booth tables allow you to sit with a friend and enjoy delightful convo. The Tonopah Muckers High School is directly behind, I'm sure the teachers or students are stoked to have that delicious cup o' Joe so close! read more

Have drove past this place time after time I say I'm going to stop and try it out. Today was the day I ordered the revolver and a turkey swiss sandwich.. food and coffee 5 star no doubt. Kid working behind the counter was awesome even for being overwhelmed with the constant orders from upfront and also the drive thru.. the reason it dropped a few stars in my opinion was one of the lady's working in the store side just went behind the counter of the coffee place and started making her self a coffee. By no means was it a big deal but the fact she was kind of in the kids way for a moment. She never offered to help just took her coffee over to the register and started sipping it. Now I don't know if these places are one or two separate entities but I would imagine she should have offered a hand or stayed out while he was busy. Now let's chat about their 'whipped cream'! It is by far the best I have ever had! I could order a bucket of their whipped cream, put it in the freezer and just eat it as a dessert!!! BEST PLACE for Real Fruit Smoothies!! Sophi loves their smoothies with....whipped cream of course!! You can taste each fruit that was added even if you didn't know! BEST PLACE for bacon, egg, cheese sandwich on a croissant!! This is perfect for breakfast or lunch....okay, snack, dinner or whenever! Sophi and I just love it!!
