My son and I were referred to this business by someone at America's Tires to get an alignment for my 18 year old son's car. While we were dropping the car off, my son had to fill out a form with several questions on it concerning doing additional repairs if necessary. Well, about an hour or so after dropping the car off, my son gets a text saying that he needed to get wheel bearings for his car and the cost would be $707.48 in addition to the $80 for the alignment! I'm glad my son is frugal because he came to me asking if that was too much. I called them just to be sure my son wasn't mistaken. He wasn't, Brendon told me it was a serious safety concern, and they couldn't do the alignment until they replaced the bearings. So I told Brendon to hold off until I called him back. I immediately called my family's "trusted" mechanic shop and told them what was going on. Once I told them the name of the repair facility, they immediately told me not to get that repair done there! I was then told that Bear was known for doing unnecessary repairs, essentially ripping people off. So I shut the repairs down there and had my son drive his car a short distance to their repair shop. Once they did their inspection, they told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the wheel bearings in my son's car. They went on to tell me that someone had loosened the nuts on the wheel to give the impression that the wheel was loose due to needing the bearings replaced! After tightening the nuts, the wheel was fine. They did the alignment, and my son's car is operating with no issues at all! I was compelled to write this negative review because this is my son's first exposure to needing any auto repairs, and go figure, the first facility he goes to tried to rip him off! That infuriated me because in August, my son is on his way to college away from home. I told him that the old saying I heard growing up, unfortunately, is still true today. Received a text w/link that detailed results of their techs inspection of my vehicle. It was impressive, haven't seen that from any of their shop! My car recently decided that now (December) was the month it was going to need some major work done on it, which always seems to be the month it needs work done. Side note - I think my car wants to have all holiday funds dedicated to it! I heard of Bear Alignment and Brake from America's Tire after having to get two new tires replaced and they found out my alignment needed to be fixed. One of the techs recommended this place and so after seeing a lot of great reviews and from word of mouth, I gave this place a call. They were able to get me in right away and fix my alignment in two hours. They did a comprehensive check of my car and found some major issues going on with my car, one which I suspected was an issue, and two that I didn't know about it. They gave me a quote for all of the work prior to me leaving. After crunching the numbers, I decided to go ahead and get the car worked on since it was more cost effective to fix these things now rather than wait and have more issues pop up. They were able to get me in the next day and let me borrow their loaner car, which was a PT Cruiser (hey, not the coolest car, but you sure get a lot more visibility, and it gets you where you need to go!) and I was able to get around and continue working. They worked their magic on my car and fixed all three major issues and had my car ready to go by the end of the day! I'll be honest, I nearly cried when I drove my car away because my 10 year old car felt brand new. I haven't enjoyed driving my car for the last couple years because it felt like I was off roading out somewhere and it no longer felt like a mustang. I highly recommend this place and am so thankful I was told about them. Everyone there is so friendly. You can tell they run their shop on integrity and honestly and I really appreciated them being so transparent and the really nice extra customer service touches. You guys are awesome. This place will now be my go to anytime I need maintenance done and/or if it's something I don't feel comfortable doing myself on my car. We took our vehicle here to do an alignment based on a recommendation from America's tires. With the coupon the alignment was going to be $79 and after scheduling an appointment we arrived and they said it would take up to 4 hours. After sitting for 20 minutes they came back and told us we needed $1,626.76 worth of work. $1132.58 for new suspension/struts as the guys indicated "suspension was completely shot". And also $494.18 for new front brakes and rotors. We found it odd since we had just had our vehicle at our mechanic a week earlier and they indicate those were all in good condition. We declined the service and returned to mechanic who again inspected suspension, struts, brakes and rotors and found them all in good condition. Today (one week later) I took our car to Honda dealership who also confirmed front brakes, rotors, suspension and struts were all in good condition. Now reading many reviews on Bear I see it is very common for them to recommend thousands of dollars in repairs that are unnecessary. $1600 is a significant amount of money to try to scam a customer out of. Also after declining the extra work somehow that alignment was done in 45 minutes instead of up to 4 hours. read more

Bought a Groupon oil change deal and went in on Saturday morning and was told I needed an appointment and they could get to me on Tuesday or Wednesday. I work 50 miles away and am not going to lose a half days work to accommodate them, I'm the customer. Now I have a worthless oil change voucher that will expire before I can use it. This place is nothing but a marketing ploy to upsell you on shit you really don't need. I could see right through the BS immediately, especially when he started spouting off that my car needed this, that, and the other. I mean how in the hell can a $70 alignment service turn in to over $1500+ of work. What the f#@k?! Not to mention, the services he said my car needed - I know in fact I just had those same services done only 1 week earlier. I even did some of the items he mentioned. Clearly, he did not look at my vehicle nor open or check anything. Its so funny. The estimated time frame for the alignment was going to be nearly all day - when I dropped off the vehicle that morning. I thought, wow - maybe its a good place if they are that busy. But, after his call and the upsell attempt, and when I said NO - the vehicle was suddenly ready in only 15 minutes. How can that be? I was told the alignment was such a very time consuming service. Hahaha! He didn't do a damned thing! Like I said before, complete CON! I should report this guy to the BBB because - although I had already paid, there was no alignment done, because if it had been - the car would have driven straight afterwards. Nope, still pulled to the right. But f#@k me, right - because I'd already paid and I'm almost certain that they make sure they have "accurate" records of their "services". Long story short, keep your money, avoid any potential pilfering or damage of your car - this guy may be screwing up stuff just to get return business - who knows?! Just avoid this shop. I went to this company because they had good ratings, boy was I wrong. I needed an alignment after I put in a refurbished rack and pinion, I wish I could post a picture on here because they left the rubber boot on the rack and pinion so twisted that it had stretchbmarks on it and it needed to be replaced. I went back to them and pointed out that the bolts were loose which caused it to get out of align again, and not just a little loose, so loose that I could reach into the wheel well with my hand and wobble the bolt back and forth, and the suspension is popping because it. They took a second try at fixing it and the manager of the shop lied to me and said that they didn't find any loose bolts, whick we're now semi tight, and the popping was because of the inner tie rod ends and it wasn't their fault. I went home and got it on jack stands and took my cheap Pittsburgh box end wrench and sure enough, the bolts are so loose that just a little bit of pressure with a small box and wrench loosened to the bolt. I dont know how they missed that because a DIY mechanic found the issue within 5 minutes. I don't know how this company has the ratings they do, because this kind of work especially when you go back a second time to get it fixed and it still isn't right is unacceptable. Now I have to go to another alignment shop to get it aligned properly. If you want your wheel to fall off when your driving down the freeway, Bear Alignment will fix you right up. read more

I found Bear from a coupon card on a counter at the America's Tire shop down the road. Out of the four separate visits I can confidently say I got excellent and professional service each visit. I've had T.J. and the rest of the crew show me nothing but respect and genuine politeness, they are very sharp. Emily at the front is always charming and kind. She remembers who you are and doesn't ever miss a beat. I feel like I'm called someone I actually know when I call Bear. I never leave a review without some straightforward honesty so I will say that each time I went in for one thing they typically found (granted out of either concern or skill) something else to tag onto the service which would always rack up several hundreds more mostly for labor. Though I should point out I brought my car in when it was basically broken (rack & pinion toast, brakes down to nothing, heater broken) so it has to be fixed. Still these additional services always racked up quite a bill. The fact is, these extra problems were always valid, they were trying to help me. The rate here is $120 an hour for labor cost and you get what you pay for. That's something to be said, especially for auto-mechanics (plus I don't want to do any of this myself). I've gotten my money's worth here every single visit. There have been two times where they found multiple problems and instead of making me feel like a jerk they understood when I wanted to wait and never backed me into a corner or condescended me for additional services. I always came back after a few more paychecks and they served up my vehicle inside 24 hours each time. I love this shop. They'll always have my business and my respect. I saw all the amazing reviews of WorldWide Auto, and about Jay, so when my AC tanked these are the 1st guys I called. It appears there's been a name change in the business, so this review is strictly for Worldwide Autoworks and Jay specifically. Jay is a stand up guy, honest about estimates, and does good clean work. There was a leak in my AC manifold and he got the part the very next day, installed. There were other problems that I'm sure he could've fixed and charged me for, such as a faulty radiator cap collapsing the main airhose, but he recommended all I had do do was buy a new one so I did, and the problem did indeed correct itself. He even replaced the left-turn signal blinker for me which was out. How cool is that!? It was worth the drive from Poway to get the piece of mind. Great work. Great Service. Reasonable Prices. We need more Jay's out there. The Yelp Page name change and Yelp profile pic replacement seems a bit suspect to me but I'm holding onto the benefit of the doubt....Jay where are you??? read more

Jay's very friendly and open about service, which is great when there are so many other places that feel like they shortcut the work and inflate the price. Jay worked with me to get an appointment for my oil change early in the morning so that he could finish before I had to go to work, and he kept checking in with me in the lobby to make sure we were good on time. Although I did not have work done on my car from Worldwide, I did ask for a quote to get a clutch job done. I do most of my car repairs at home, but just do not want to tackle my car's clutch replacement. Jay was the first to reply back to a quote request via Yelp, and did so with a recommendation to bring the car in to make sure the repair actually requires a clutch replacement and offered possible less expensive repairs. This was a pleasant surprise as most shops will offer the most expensive repair and not look for alternative routes. Regardless, I specified that I just want a quote for a clutch/flywheel/throw-out bearing replacement and he provided the out-the-door cost for the job; exactly what I needed. Thank you Jay. I am impressed with the service I received at Bear Alignment. Great customer service from Emily, (she calls me Mss. Mary) My car needed alignment and they did it for a great price!! Also at 118 k miles the timing belt needed to be replaced, after shopping around, Bear gave me the best price. They replaced my belt and the water pump.That also took care of a weird sound my car had in the mornings when cold. I work at America's Tire, and we always refer customers to this location. After going in for myself, I can confidently tell customers why we refer them. I had just lifted my Jeep over the weekend, and brought it into Bear to get it aligned, right off the bat Emily was very welcoming and made the environment much lighter. I had Brandon help me out, and I'm extremely happy with the outcome. I was having some trouble with the spring I installed and let Brandon know, he checked it out and fixed my problem. On top of the great service, one thing I really appreciated was their honesty. I had only wanted an alignment done, but they also changed the oil. After letting them know I only wanted an alignment, they apologized for the mistake and told me the oil change was on the house. Mistakes like this happen, and I really appreciate their honesty.
