I got to have a lovely chat with the owner Claudia. She sells all sorts of amazing vintage items and clothing. During my visit they were having a pop up jewelry event with pieces that would look right at home in your grandmother's jewelry box. If you wear clip on earrings, she had a wonderful selection along with beautiful brooches. Some of the pieces, like a box of rings were as inexpensive a one dollar. Don't forget to look up while you are shopping and check out Claudia's shoe art installation on the ceiling. Besides all of the unique things she sells, Claudia also does art classes. She showed me some of the projects which included journals, sea glass art, and wind chimes. Follow Comfort for Chaos on Facebook for upcoming events or even better, check them out in person. Claudia got the name for her store from a invention she created called Chaos for Comfort. It is a pad that you can add to your seat that is either hot or cold to provide comfort while you are working on your computer at your desk. She sells them online and in the store. ArtServe is a multi-purpose facility that offers a shared office environment and venue at affordable costs to more than 350 nonprofit cultural organizations and 10,000 artists living and working in Broward County. ArtServe encourages the growth of cultural organizations with educational and marketing programs including The Art of Doing Business workshop series, and the Broward County Commission's Cultural Division's Cooperative Marketing Program. We went to see a production by the Lesbian Thespians which is a member of the South Florida Theater league. Other visitors have enjoyed art gallery exhibits, reading workshops, virtual programming, etc.... A great place for non profits to have a stage to the world.

So only One more Week left to view this interesting, important work by various Haitian artists. A great Toussaint artwork and one piece made of Skittles into the face of "Tupac." If you look at the Skittle piece up close you may not be able to see it is, in fact, Tupac Shakur. Inside the actual museum which was once a gymnasium Basketball Court is a weaving exhibit entitled "Ancestral Lines" which has been here a couple of months- having opened on April 4, 2025- and, I think, will be here about another month until sometime in July 5, 2025, as I recall. I was very happy to learn that they sell beverages so you can walk around with them! I will try that next time. The only problem is that it probably only takes a half an hour to walk around. There is a little garden path outside that you can roam around that has lots of little sculptures and fairy/ gnome houses. It is good for children, as they offer classes and summer programs. It is wonderful as it is a non-profit and free to the community. I appreciate they have different events including book signings and authors, and the space is open for rentals and things. It's overall very cute, but still lots of room for improvement.

I am amazed by this wonderful gift shop, I didn't even know it existed but I saw a sign for their…read moresidewalk sale on the side of the road when I was leaving an estate sale. When I pulled up their front porch was filled with the most delightful array of gifts. I started out Christmas shopping but there were so many things I wanted for myself too. I ended up purchasing several items at a steep discount including a Vera Bradley straw hat for only $5, gorgeous artisan necklaces for family Christmas presents, some Christmas decorations, a gift for a friends upcoming wedding, and finally a few Cat's Meow Village buildings including area landmark buildings, the New River Inn and the Bonnet House, for my collection. I started accidentally collecting them when I purchased a few inexpensively in a vintage sale and now I'm hooked. I especially love the replicas of the buildings I have fallen in love with in Florida (in case you are reading this daughter hint, hint). Inside the store I was dazzled with the array of gifts. The front of the store was beautifully decorated for the holidays and there were several Christmas trees throughout the store. This store carries a huge selection of Vera Bradley, home decor, coastal decor, holiday decorations, jewelry, candles, bath products, pantry items, jams and jellies, and apparel. I loved the lighted holiday snow globes especially the pop up camper one but my all time favorite items were the Spartina Florida purses and wallets. They have a vintage Florida map on them that look like the one on the table clothes that people who visited Florida used to buy in the 50's as souvenirs. I am still hunting one of those table clothes and I adore these handbags. I had never seen these before I am in love. They are pricey so this is going on my someday wish list. If there is one downside to this store it's that there was only one register and the sale generated a lot of customers who were buying many items and the ladies were slow. They are so sweet though and the wait wouldn't have been a big deal if I didn't have to rush off to other appointments. While I waited I snacked on their complimentary doughnut holes and orange juice. I have definitely found my new favorite gift store. I have some difficult people to buy for and I can find something for anyone here, not to mention all the things I personally loved. With the gift giving holiday season upon us, this is the perfect time to discover this store.
