My fiance and I were looking for somewhere different to eat. We live out of town and don't often make it to downtown Lexington. We had reservations but ended up getting there early and just had our dinner at the bar. We both had cocktails which we enjoyed along with the deviled eggs for an appetizer. The eggs were okay--a bit spicier than I would have preferred and I would probably try a different app next time I go (there will be a next time for sure!) My shrimp and grits were great but honestly the bourbon glazed wings that my fiance had were the show stoppers. Large sized wings that were smoked perfectly with the right amount of crunch topped with a sweet but not too sweet bourbon glaze. I will definitely get those next time I go. The outside seating is definitely worth coming to eat here especially sitting up top. Warm buffalo chicken dip is served in an iron skillet with pita chips was fire. You definitely have to try one of the burgers, we got the double Chevy burger and beast burger which is 1/2 pound wagyu burger with their house made pickles. You can't go wrong with either burger. Good grief, I keep forgetting about this place just cause we never go to Chevy Chase and then I remember it's here. So many options, and the specials rotate a lot. The fried duck rangoon is a delicious option (unless you just don't like cream cheese), but the fattiness carries the sauce so well. Also, tacos are always a good option - Taco Tuesday specials are so worth it. Lots of service options (to go, at the bar, sit down service). You can even get a delivery to Beer Trappe! Everyone has been super nice every time we've gone and very helpful even with silly questions. Delicious food and a fun atmosphere. Not quite fitting for accommodating large groups but made it work for us. We had to sit outside and it was raining so we did get a little wet but staff brought out towels for us to dry off. They messed up the bill but were quick to fix and helped give recommendations for other places to visit in the area! Food was quick to come out and tasted great. The proportions are fairly large and the drinks, especially the Bloody Mary, could be a whole meal itself. My family and I met up for lunch this afternoon at this beautiful establishment. The server was kind and welcoming.. she made sure our drinks were filled consistently and was patient with us when my family decided to wait on the dinner menu (2PM) even though we arrived early. We were able to eat breakfast or dinner! I ordered the "famous wings" and was delighted with the ranch as well as the fries. Walking in we were greeted by someone who may or may not employed there. You can't really tell who is working there as they wear no kind aprons or uniforms. The place has zero atmosphere, if you like dirty concrete floors and old tumbleweed wood booths you may like it. We could see in the kitchen from our booth. Pretty solid spot for a pre UK football game meal. Came here with my husband, his brother, and hid brother's wife, who are season ticket holders and very graciously invited us. We thought we'd return the favor by taking them out to eat to a place in Lexington they've been eyeing for a while. I had stared at the menu well before we came, and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. My brother-in-law agreed to split the Chevy Chase Cheesesteak and the Loaded Mac and Cheese. But first, we started with some of the poutine-style fries, which were pretty good. As for the entrees, they were also pretty good. I'm not sure that the cheesesteak warrants the "crowd favorite" trophy next to it on the menu, but it wasn't bad. The mac and cheese was very decadent. After my previous review the general manager was quick to sort the issue after coming back from holiday leave. The other staff that I was interacting with hadn't experienced the issue I had before and did not know how to properly handle it. He was extremely apologetic over the situation and made be feel at ease, which is great because I have loved Bear and the Butcher's food and dining experience in the past. Went here for dinner...they offer bourbon flights, I ordered the Weller flight, they didn't have the 12 year old, I was asked to pick something else. I chose a Pappy...was told oh we can't do substitutions, I'm sure it was because of my selection, after being told to make a new selection, now if I'd have chosen any large batch bourbon I'm sure they'd would have made that substitution...total crap!!! Then ordering dinner I asked to substitute brussel sprouts for fries, I have a gluten allergy...was told there's no substituting sides...so I told our server to not put any fries on the plate and I'll pay for an extra side of brussel sprouts...meal came out with all my food on top of a bed of fries...what the actual heck??? We have Eaton here a couple of times, and the food and atmosphere has always been a vibe! With it being right down by Chevy Chase you don't see any homeless or any drug drugs. It's very refreshing. The food is absolutely delicious although the ribs were a bit too spicy, but I can't handle any spice whatsoever so I might not be the best judge for that. The service is always friendly and fast. And I overall have no complaints when we went. They were decorated for Halloween and it was super spooky, but not scary! Very tasteful all around read more

We stopped by for lunch around noon on a Saturday and had no trouble getting a table for two. It was pretty busy given it's st pattys weekend and March madness but the service was fast. I think our servers name was Ryn and she was nice and got us our drinks and food quickly. I went for the shrimp tacos and they did not disappoint. Great flavor, the shrimp was perfectly crispy, and just a touch of spice. They're messy to eat so don't get them if you're trying to be cute. Chips and salsa were also good, definitely not your average jar of plain salsa. My boyfriend got the steak and eggs and he enjoyed it. It was cooked perfectly. The tacos were a special for Tuesday so I decided to start with the creamy siracha shrimp tacos and a Caesar salad. Slight up charge on the Caesar but the girl down the bar had one and it looked hardy! Great choose! The Caesar had a unique dressing with pesto. Great salad. The taco had fried and bread shrimp with purple cabbage and the siracha sauce. Very tasty and just enough spice in the siracha. Great inexpensive meal. Very friendly staff also. Did a girls brunch at Bear & the Butcher and it was epic! First off, I'm a bit outgoing and when you get me with my girls, things take a turn towards raunchy and rowdy. We like to have a good time. Our server was a champ and she was on top of it, from recommendations, to refills for our bottomless mimosas, to refilling water (needed due to bottomless mimosas), to making sure our food was everything we could dream of. To be honest, I don't remember much about the food! There were beignets with some decadent caramel chocolate sauce that I may or may not of licked off of one of my friends (should have asked for some to go for later!), and there was my super succulent steak that another friend stole off my plate. What I do remember was multiple rounds of apple cider mimosas and they rocked my world! I recommend reservations. Stopped in town and set was recommended this delicious eatery. The restaurant is located off Euclid Ave in Lexington, KY. The big overhead sign outside made it easy to locate the building. I heard it is recommended to call ahead to get a reservation so we did. We were greeted with friendly smiles and a warm atmosphere. We were seated and placed our order, we chose the Steak and Eggs Platter for $16 and everything was cooked to perfection.
