Outstanding bar with an vast selection of rare and seasonable beers, especially Trappist ales. Friendly and relaxing vibe with knowledgeable bar tender who can share the history and profiles of his beers.

I have been coming to the Beer Trappe since it opened and I am a better person for it. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Beer selection is great. If you are a Bud Light type of person, use this place to expand your tastes. Eight taps and a huge selection of both cold beers to drink in house or take away. Also a wide selection of beers to purchase.

Great beer, awesome chill atmosphere and an incredibly nice server! There are beautiful lights hung about, the server is knowledgeable regarding what to recommend and they have comfortable seating which is always a plus when wanting to lounge about.

Oskar Blues Double Port- the only keg in Kentucky!!!

The Beer Trappe has a really great tap list- they have unique beers you won't find elsewhere both on tap and in to-go packs. My hubs and went today for a special keg release for Oskar Blues and Cigar City. We tried several of the special releases and they were great. Our favorite were the Oskar Blues Ten Fidy Bourbon Barrel Aged and Double Port. The atmosphere is great, and the folks there are serious about beer!

We LOVE The Beer Trappe. My husband and I typically go a few times a month and always enjoy ourselves. They have an excellent selection of beers, many of which are unique and difficult to find anywhere else. This is not your typical bar - there are no generic light beers or super popular brands on tap. But if you want to try something new and different, this is definitely a great place to try.

Great collection both national and international

The Beer Trappe is an excellent business on the edge of Chevy Chase on Euclid ave. Offering beers on tap. by the 4-pack, 6-pack, or single bottles, the Trappe has something for most any true beer lover. Beers from across America combine with import beers in every style made in breweries around the world. They have bartenders who are knowledgeable on the beers they sell, with Kevin Patterson, their Cicerone, a veritable encyclopedia on beer- from styles to breweries to the brewing process itself. He teaches a Beer School class weekly, with information on a given style in a casual and informative beer tasting, and the theme changes every week. They generally offer draft by many of the finest breweries in the country. They also regularly have special release tappings, always announced beforehand on Facebook. Seating includes several stools at the bar, with table for small groups, and a couch and chairs for more comfortable, leisurely talk and enjoying your beer. In addition, they have tvs for sports fans and special events involving reps from various breweries and/or special releases of rare beers. They offer a discount on mix 6-packs you can mix and match yourself from their bottle inventory. I've found numerous good to fantastic beers there which I'd never seen or heard of before. I can now recommend far more beers to others per the style(s) they like. So if you're a casual beer drinker and or mad fan of all the variety of styles and taste, especially with ales, check out The Beer Trappe if you haven't already.

Just a portion of their bottle selection.

I love this place. They always have an excellent selection of beers on tap and their bottle selection is better than the liquor stores in town. They get some keg and bottle releases before the other stores do and you can always count on them to have special events for big releases. They have a cellar list that is huge and goes back for years. Most of the beer tenders know their stuff and can give you recommendations for a variety of styles you might like. I honestly can not recommend this place enough, it's why I come here at least once a week :)

Just a portion of the "beer wall"!

This place is nice, huge selection of craft beer. The female bartender could lose the snarky attitude.

This review is pointless I guess. They are closing as of January 1, 2026. Are they closing…read morebecause of the terrible service? Or did I get terrible service because they are closing? I sat at the bar and was ignored for about 15 minutes, even though they looked right at me. Finally one of the bartenders asked if I wanted food or drink, and I said just drinks. "I guess I can do that," he said, and then told me to move over to the other side of the bar to be closer to him (it was right by the door, so I got to experience cold rushes of air the whole time I sat there). Also during my time, a German cockroach skittered across the bar top. I thought maybe the bartender was just sullen, but he was very animated and interactive with the younger couple who came in after me. I had to flag him down for my second drink. Everything seemed like an imposition to him. The drinks were fine and well priced. But the drinks don't matter when the vibe is that bad. I got the check quickly and left.

Really cool atmosphere. Speakeasy bar style... 3 women set up and played holiday music on violins…read more It was lovely. Very reasonably priced as well. Server and bartender were friendly. I ordered the Cuban and the Patty Melt, both with fries. The Cuban was soooo good!! The bread is grilled and crispy, buttery and amazing. The pulled pork and ham were so flavorful and perfect with the melted cheese and pickles. I would 10/10 order this again. The patty melt was also great. They also have my favorite fries (similar to McDonalds style fries). I'm sad they will be closing at the end of the month. A wonderful dinner.

It has a very modern lounge look with a great view of the street and people walking by. It was a beautiful day so the windows were open. You almost forgot you were in Lexington. I got the funkadelic drink, and my friend got the Clooney. Both were really good but completely different. I enjoyed the funkadelic, it was like having a drink on a beach.

Georgie's only opened a couple of years ago and every friend I heard from that has gone raved about it. While bourbon is a longtime Kentucky treasure, the cocktail scene in downtown Lexington has only recently grown from a handful of weekend spots to a thriving business. On this particular occasion, my wife was at a banquet in the downtown Hyatt, so I took myself out for dinner and drinks at some new places. This was stop #3, and it was by far my favorite. I found a seat right at the bar and started looking over the extensive cocktail list. As I took in the atmosphere, I noticed several couches, a long bar, and some open area by the front. The bartender working while I was there was Jordan, who runs the bar as well as one of my favorite Lexington late night spots, Centro (another 5). And when I say he "runs" the bar, I mean it. He managed to make cocktails and keep the line moving mostly by himself while I was there. He recommended the Quiet Beatle, which I thoroughly enjoyed for a perfectly reasonable price. I got one more vodka soda when things calmed down a bit, and went on my way. There are little bites available, as well as an extensive cocktail and bourbon list. This is definitely a place you can meet a group of friends for happy hour or late night drinks, or have a nice date. I can't wait to come back!
