Excellent Views! Great location! Good size for a couple families to stay comfortably.

We stayed at Big Sky. It was amazing. Very roomy. Everything taking care of. Clean and had broom,dust pan, mop and vacuum. Getting there was easy. The fire pit had fresh wood and benches have been added. There is a surprise. I am not sure if it was on purpose. But, the first day we was looking to see if there was another remote. Nope but we did find a uno card. Then stumbled across another game piece hidden. Then it became a scavenger hunt to find game pieces. We found 5 hidden in total. We left everything. We Thought it was fun. The kids spent awhile looking for them. The kitchen has everything you need. There is two coffee pots and a great toaster,Tea pitcher, plenty of plates. The smoke alarm would chirp every once in awhile in the bedroom to the right. The last night it started and by 2am it was going full on. No one got sleep. The porch is amazing. We stayed on it. Wear your outdoor shoes. We had a splinter and stubbed toe. The grill can be used but it is a basic park grill. The grate can't be moved out and there is so much air getting in we had flames the whole time. If we would have brought a water bottle we could have controlled it better. read more

Drove 6 hours for them to tell us that our cabin isn't accessible, 45 minutes before we got there. No option for a refund, as is cleverly buried in the service agreement. I totally get that there are policies, but it wouldn't have cost anything to call earlier than 45 minutes before check-in time. I could have slept in like you wouldn't believe. This place may be nice, but who knows, we never got there. If you do book, call them the day before you leave to make sure, then 12 hours before your arrival, then 6 hours, aw hell better call them 3 minutes before, jussssst to make sure that you still have to a place to stay after a long drive. read more

if I could give this place a zero that would be more I n line with our experience. in all the years my family has been going to pigeon Forge and enjoying the mountains we have never experienced the degree of uncaring that we have this trip. The property was a wreck with broken furniture arcades that didn't work and stained and dirty bathrooms. when we got back from the dinner show and we're putting the kids to bed we found urine saturated sheets and blankets. They refused to do anything!!!! we had booked two nights but needless to say we left this morning. Dont go through this mana to book anything!! read more

If you are looking for a nice get away cabin to enjoy all that pigeon forge and gatlinburg has to offer, do yourself a favor and do NOT stay here. Specifically the Always and Forever Cabin. The pictures on Bear Camp Cabin Rentals are very clearly not up to date. My wife and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and if it weren't for the partnership with xplorie, we would have packed up and gone elsewhere. The cleaning crew they have for this place is horrible. Stains on the furniture, mold in the bathroom and kitchen. Coffee pot has old dirty stains on the inside. Pretty much looks like it's never been cleaned. And the worst part is the infestation of roaches. Spent the whole first night killing these bugs. Went through a whole roll of toilet paper and paper towels just killing them. Even had to go out that night just to buy roach spray. And even after using that, still kept finding more and more roaches. We couldn't even trust to leave our luggage and bags in the cabin while we were gone, in fear that roaches might get into them. It got to the point that I called the front desk help line to get the cleaning crew out to the cabin to do an over the top cleaning job. Was told over the phone they will try to reach out to the cleaning crew but wasn't sure what they are doing and if they'll be able to get out to clean it. No one ever showed. That is absolutely sad that they can't even get a decent cleaning crew they trust. Be very careful plugging any appliances into outlets, as the roaches are very clearly coming out of the outlets like in the bathroom. That is a huge fire hazard. Especially with it being an all wood cabin. There's so many bugs that when we would leave to go places, we had to pack everything up and put them in the car to avoid any bugs getting in them. If you have this place currently reserved, I would cancel your reservation immediately. I get this is a cabin and yes bugs can be there. But honestly, this is very unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Only reason it is getting 1 star is because of the partnership with explorie. This place is 100% horrid and just about ruined our 1 year anniversary. My advice is to stay far away from this cabin. read more

It was a very spacious place and a great price. conveniently located near lots of fun places and clean. the fireplace was a nice touch. The reason why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the beds were not real comfortable and one of the kids beds squeaked really bad every time she moved. and of course she complained that it wasn't comfortable so she toss and turned all night. other than that is was a decent place and would consider returning. read more

Overall our stay went very well. The cabin is quaint and just right for the two couples. It was a great location to everything. A few minor things needed fixing but generally the cabin was clean inside and had what was needed in the kitchen. Be prepared to sweep spider webs from the porch if you intend to use it. Improvement could be made with some additional lighting as the kitchen and upstairs bedroom seemed too dark for our particular liking. The only negative was the walls between the duplex are quite thin. We could always hear the neighbors talking and the rowdy kids. The overall development was quiet for our October visit. read more

Stayed at the Majestic View Lodge in Gatlingburg, would definitely not recommend. The description states newly built, but definitely 4 years old. No basic maintenance has been done since. Loose plumbing fixtures, siding is Sun damaged and popping away from cabin, blinds don't work, air filters dirty, etc. Hot tub has not been drained and clean in a long time. There is bat poop going outside, and you will hear the bats at night in the ceiling. There are 4 bathrooms, but the water pressure is so low, only 1 person can shower at a time. The kitchen utensils have seen better days, knife handles were falling apart. This property clearly shows the owner is just looking for his rental fee, and does not expect repeat customers. Look for other properties and stay away from this bat infested slum-lord site. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND staying at Bear camp cabins!!!!! First night we get here it was late so couldn't call to check in till the next morning. We go through the cabin write down all the detail of things that is broken and wrong. Next morning call check in and eat breakfast go to wash towel and clothes and the washer is tore up. We call and tell them it takes them two days to bring us more towels out. We went out and bought more towels just to have clean ones to shower with. Not only that we only accommodated for having a washer and dryer. So we have to go to a laundry mat to wash clothes. All they could say is sorry and that it wouldn't be getting fixed while we was here because the work orders was so backed up. So if the work orders are so backed up people must be having the same issues with their cabins! Again DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

The cabin "Always and Forever" was charming and so cute. We were ecstatic when we first got there and walked in. The reason why I gave it only 3 stars is if you're a bath person, you're not going to like this particular cabin. We thought something was wrong because the hot water quickly became cold. We called the contact person, Stephanie, to report it, and she said they were well aware of the problem because the cabin only had a 20-gallon hot water heater because the owner said he couldn't fit a bigger one in there. I find that hard to believe. Another problem is there is a house across the street (divided up into 4 apts) that had some unsavory characters living there. At 2:00am there were a number of people outside over there and our car alarm went off and we were a little concerned. There is a security system in the cabin, so we called the contact person in the morning to get the code for the cabin. She acknowledged, yes, there was a security system but that it didn't work. So, other than the above, it was good. read more

The water smelled like rotten eggs, we had to buy bottles of water to brush our teeth. The Wifi was almost non existent. I went out to the ho tub to get in, it was filled with something green growing. We called to let office know, hoping they would come clean it. It honestly looked like vomit. They never came to clean it. The creek water smelled better than the water here inside this cabin. We stayed at the Papa Bear cabin. You would expect a clean hot tub and rotten egg free water, if you are spending over $1,000 on a cabin. I even offered to send them pics of the hot tub too. read more

We had a very pleasant experience at Papa Bear's Den. The cabin was very clean and neat. It had all the things we needed for our stay and was exactly as described on the website. The only issue we had during our stay was the A/C quit working the first night there, but when we contacted the lovely staff at Bear Camp Cabin Rentals the following morning, they told us they would take care of it and the issue was fixed the same day while we were out of the house. We had no further issues and really enjoyed our time at the cabin. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to others! read more

We stayed at the Gritz Carlton cabin in January 2022 after our previous travel plans were cancelled due to COVID. However, this last minute booking proved to be the best decision we made, not to mention the 33% off January sale that Bear Camp was offering. Let me say, this cabin was everything we could have asked for and more! First off, the view was incredible. The house is one of the highest on the mountain creating spectacular views over the other cabins and mountains. The house itself is beautiful, cozy, and had anything and everything we could have needed for our stay. We had 10 people and there was more than enough space for us all no matter where we were. The additional perks that other places don't have like the pool, hot tub, theatre, and fireplace were a huge part of the fun we had during our stay. TVs in every room for entertainment, great speaker system in the living room and theatre. We loved cooking in the kitchen for the group and gathering at the table to eat every day. We had a mix of snowy weather, warm weather, foggy, and back to snowy. It was so cool to see the mountains with both snow and without. We loved our stay and hopefully we can return again next winter! read more

Watch for hidden costs. They will continue charging your credit card for an entire year for "membership fees". A long list of don't do which includes a notebook. Limited towels. Bring your own. You will need to do laundry. They charge for cleaning but the floors were gross when we arrived. They won't tell you about the roads. There are actually very few actual options for the "free" tickets. Go to Vrbo. Much better experience. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Serenity Heights which we reserved through Bear Camp Rentals. The cabin was very clean, the hot tub was amazing and we had a very nice relaxing get away. The staff was very responsive to a situation that came up during our stay and made us feel right at home. We had a great time and will consider that for the future as well. I will add that the road to the cabin was as describe in previous posts and if you are going in the winter you would definitely need 4 wheel drive read more

Upon arrival cabin was delayed being able to enter. Never received an email stating there would be a delay. Lost power and running water after only being in cabin for 12 hours. Called office to report the incident, told not their problem it was widespread. No offer to relocate or help in any way. Just that they were sorry. Called 2 other times stating power was still not on, although most of the area was back on. Had no choice but to pack up and go to a hotel for $700 for our family of 7 after spending $1000 for the cabin for the weekend. Too harsh rental agreement for natural disasters. Staff not equipped to deal with such disasters. We live in Tennessee And understand things happen, but a not our problem attitude is not the Tennessee attitude. A business should be more customer friendly in such cases. This was the weekend from hell. Not to mention this cabin smelled upon arrival and was not deep cleaned. Bathrooms were not cleaned. Linens smelled. Furniture was filthy, I would never book this cabin rental company again. Not sure if I will ever visit the mountains again, but would never use this agency again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. DO NOT rent from them. I would give them ZERO stars if I could. They are an unprofessional organization. My husband and I rented the Splish-N-Splash cabin. We got there, and the cabin was clean. That's where the only good part of this review ends. We rented this cabin for the indoor pool. We paid $1,700 for 3 nights. We left after 22 hours. The water had a rotten egg smell. We called the company, and they said they would send someone out in 2 hours, which did not happen. My husband has lung issues, and this exacerbated his asthma. A few hours later, I noticed a rash that could have only been from the excessive sulfur in the water we showered in. After the shower, we had a barrage of drain gnats. The cabin was swarming with carpenter bees outside. We called the company. The first person he spoke to was an unprofessional woman with horrible customer service skills. She was of no help. We asked to be switched to another cabin and were told they were all on well water. He called back a while later and spoke to someone who was a bit nicer, but no resolution to our issue. We decided for our health, we could not stay here. We booked a room at the Hilton Home 2 Suites on Teester Lane. He called back and told them that we were leaving, and we wanted an email stating that we checked out after 22 hours and we would not be responsible for this cabin. The unprofessional woman immediately told him, "Well, you're not getting a refund," and that she would not send an email either because they would not put anything in writing. We weren't even asking for a refund at this point. My first thought is that they are used to people asking for a refund. We were told to call Janie in the morning. Which we did. We explained the issues and asked for her to put in writing we checked out early, but she refused to put in writing anything that could lead to a refund. After she brought that up, we asked for a one-night refund, and she reminded us that the contact said there would be no refund after check-in. Since she mentioned the contract, we stated that the contract also didn't mention that we had to tolerate sulfur water. She said that we should expect that smell in this area of all water. We have rented with other companies in this area and have never experienced this in any cabin or hotel up here. Janie said that the rotten egg smell was normal and blamed us for not calling ahead to inquire if it was on well water. Janie then proceeded to hang up on my husband. My husband has been a business owner for 33 years and is dumbfounded at the unprofessionalism of this company. There is a reason they put no refunds in their contracts, poor business values. They hide behind their contract instead of doing the right things for a paying customer. They DO NOT respect their customers and DO NOT deserve any business. Save your money and go elsewhere. Very nice cabin. The deck is over a creek flowing from a waterfall at top of hill in the community. It is so peaceful between the soft wind and trickling sounds of the creek. It is so nice to sit out there and talk. This cabin has been restored and it gives you a feel of how it might have been to have lived in the small mountain community. It has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and 3 floors. The first floor is a living room, kitchen/diningroom, and shower/tub bathroom. The second floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Each bedroom has a king bed and TVs. The 3rd floor is an open loft with a king bed. The 3rd bathroom is located there with sink/commode by themself and double shower head walk in "cave" shower. You do need to realize that this cabin is in Cosby, TN about 20 miles out of Gatlinburg. Once there there trip to and from wasn't that big a deal considering how quiet and restful it was at The General Store. We did have trouble finding it. The Pigeon Forge Welcome Center told us to go all the way through Gatlinburg to Light #3 and turn left. The turn into the cabin community could be a little tricky bc it's a tight turn. I'd be sure to get there before dark because it might be hard to find. Cosby had several stores for supplies. Dollar Store being one. Also there is a big apple orchard located there that had a restaurant. We did eat there and it was good. The fried apple pies were awesome. If you want a place to hang out, rest, and clear your mind this is the place. We'd stay again. Because it is a new listing there are some additions that could make it easier like a place to hang clothes. A place to put shampoo, body wash, etc to make it easier for access. The WiFi is usually good but signal strength is poor, often resulting in a SOS mode where your WiFi/signal strength shows up on your phone. We did have a bear sighting one cabin up from us while we were there. read more

We had originally scheduled a stay here for our honeymoon in October. In September (we paid in full btw), my soon to be husband started getting sick. 13 days before our wedding, he ended up on a ventilator in the ICU with a very rare blood disorder. (I have documented proof.) My sister and I both called Bear Camp immediately to see if there was any way that they could work with us since we didn't want to lose $1300. I wasn't asking for our money back, just maybe a reschedule possibly? Or something. They wouldn't even discuss it with me (when I originally called) or my sister. They were EXTREMELY rude and unkind about it. They said I should've gotten travel insurance (which was $300 by the way). Lesson learned. Today - 10/19/22 - they called to see how our stay was going. KNOWING MY soon to be husband is/was in the ICU. I refused to cancel the cabin entirely so they couldn't "rerent it" to make double the money. My sister called to see WHY they called today and Jennifer was fumbling all over herself. I WILL NEVER ever stay here and I will TELL EVERYONE I know how this was handled. I understand October is a very busy time of year but they easily could have rerented this cabin and at least refunded half our money or rescheduled. This is/was the last thing we needed to worry about and I'm STUNNED they called to "check in" after the several calls we had with them. read more

Chose this place for our family vacation and the customer service was poor. Overall they were not accommodating and informative. When checking in they gave us some printed out directions to our cabin and pretty much a good luck cause gps won't work in the mountains. It took us 2 hours to find our cabin. I suggest a management team member escort families to their destination. There were a couple other encounters but they had already set a bad tone. Didn't feel very welcoming read more

We have rented from Bear Camp Cabin before. This cabin was very spacious and nobody felt cramped or crowded. We did have a problem with the bedroom upstairs not having curtains on the windows leaving it too bright to sleep in. The outside of the cabin had plenty of sitting space but everything was covered in spider webs that I had to clean. I understand wildlife and outdoors but the area definitely had not been swept in quite awhile and for the amount I paid for cleaning and service fees, I should not have had to sweep all the chairs and floors. read more

We rented My Happy Place cabin for a week. We were very pleased with communications received to get to the cabin as well as accessing the front door lock. The cabin was very clean and nicely furnished. We were quite comfortable in our home away from home. Highly recommend!! The cabin was very clean and the views were amazing! The cabin has been updated and was very nice! There were a few things that need attention, such as the microwave isn't bolted in completely and sways when you touch it, and the flooring under the main tub/shower gives way when you move around in the shower. There is also a small hose that just pours water from the ceiling into the tub. I'm guessing that is for a handheld sprayer which wasn't finished yet. That would be really nice if it was a sprayer. The rain-head in the center was very nice. Hangers would also be very helpful, but it seemed that previous guests left some from items they purchased while they were there. These things wouldn't stop me from staying here again, but they were noticed. The king bed on the main floor was very comfortable! It was the only bed we used. The views from the couch were amazing! Both windows beside the fireplace had gorgeous views of the mountains. We didn't have time to try the hot tub or the fire pit, but they were both nice to haves and next time, we would definitely take advantage of them. Be prepared for the trip to the cabin. The road is not the best as there are sections where it's narrow and could be difficult for two cars to pass. It is paved, but there aren't any mirrors to help you see around corners and there are some extremely sharp turns where you can't see what's coming from the other direction. Just take it slow and you'll be fine, Luckily there aren't a lot of cabins on the road, so we only passed other vehicles about 30% of the time. It is very remote and we loved the fact that we didn't have other cabins around us. This cabin really allows you privacy and the feeling of being secluded. It's only about a 10 minute drive to the parkway, so close to everything! One of our favorite stays in the area and we make at least one trip a year to Pigeon Forge! I also want to mention how great the staff was to work with. They were so friendly and helpful. read more

My best suggestion is just do not rent from this company. We rented Buzzard's Roost cabin from Bear Camp Rental. We arrived the day after Christmas and we're paying top dollar. Upon arrival we discovered the fireplace did not work. We called immediately and they said due to bad weather they couldn't get there that night but would be out the next day. We called everyday and it's still not working This could be a great vacation cabin if only it was clean and given some TLC. Chairs with broken rungs taped with duck tape, table not secure - tilts when you lean on it, living room chair has a broken arm, light in bathroom only works sporadically,no lid for soap disperser in dishwasher, no cover for loose hanging bulb in refrigerator, stove light doesn't work, porch furniture rusted, paint splinters on deck, very loud noise from one level to another, loud banging in bedrooms, dryer not working properly -won't heat, no hangers, very musty smelling thought out on furniture especially couch, dust everywhere-can't use the fans without being covered in dust, flook boards and baseboards filthy etc. I could continue but as you can see it need some attention. It's a beautiful home that's just been neglected. We paid over 5,000 dollars for 5 days. Management claims they were very busy and that they certainly would have fixed everything if we would have called. Most of the time when we called they didn't answer or just put you on hold and never called back. Then when you reach a live body they claim they will fix it and never show up. Why should we have repairmen through the house while we are trying to relax Even if they did show up. It should not have been rented in its' condition. I emailed them upon checkout and after a week without response called. They hadn't even read the email. They said they couldn't do anything. Wouldn't give me owners name or access information. Now that I've read the comments from so many others I am so sorry I rented from them. Our family had experienced an unexpected death and this trip was to bring new happy memories for our family. Instead we were only disappointed and aggravated My suggestion- rent from people who care. read more

We went for a short weekend trip first time in Tennessee since I was a child...cabin was great no issues the only issue we had and WERE NOT FORWARNED about was how steep and scary the drive way is all the way up! Warning future renters be prepared for a pretty steep road to the cabins! Alot the cabin is alot smaller then pictured and there is no yard space at all the fire pit is literally sitting on the edge on a cliff. read more

The cabin had dried mud tracked throughout the cabin. Dirty towels were left on top of the washer and one was behind the first floor bathroom door. A Sonic's cup was left on the fireplace. The dining tables were both cleaned with a towel that left a flaky residue of some sort...We went ahead and wiped down the tables and swept most of the mud up and swept under the upstairs bed...found all kinds of trinkets that were left behind. I took pictures to validate my findings. Other than that, it was still a most memorable and fun-filled weekend. read more

This might be the worst experience I have ever had with a cabin rental. We pulled up and we're hopeful until we walked in the door and realized that not a thing looked like it had been cleaned. Everything is very out dated and or broken. The dishwasher started smoking when it hit the drying cycle. We found undergarments left by the previous renters, they might have been their a while who knows. The walls, doors and floors are grimy and very unkempt. I would not recommend walking around this place without shoes. The beds have probably been here for 20 years or more. When we climbed into our bed to sleep the first night the sheets were so scratchy and warn it would make even the worst hotel room seem appetizing. The second night it started to rain and we noticed black dripping spots on the floor on the third level. And then woke up the next morning and found another spot on the nightstand where it had dripped all night long. When I tell you this is a nightmare I mean it. This is just scratching the surface of all the things that have gone wrong since we have started to stay here. I could continue this but it just gets ridiculous. We contacted management and they came out to look at it and walked in and said yes this is nasty. They offered to give us a little bit of a refund which was very unsatisfactory so we asked to talk to upper management and they said they don't talk to renters. My recommendation for this company is run for another mountain. Don't rent here. You might catch a disease. read more
