Flloyd is amazing. Had a great conversation with him while at the bar, and got some amazing peanut butter stouts from California. Friendly, service and he helped give us all his ice to keep our crowlers cold for the trip home. Stayed til 9:45 to help me decide on stouts and ciders, too! That's going the extra mile! read more

What a great find and would definitely come back here the next time we are lucky enough to visit Vermont. A huge selection of IPA beers for my husband and friends to try and a delicious kombucha for me since I was the nominated driver. Air fried chicken wings were the perfect accompaniment and we especially liked the dry rub version. Best place to stop by for a great variety of craft beer. Both on tap and more for sale! Floyd was great and very knowledgeable. He offers a lot of pub style food which was very good! Nice location and a great view of the river on the patio! Definitely will be back next time we are in the area! read more

Floyd is the guy to see if you are looking for great beer. He has the greatest beer selection, and always has a smile on. We love coming to Bear Naked, no matter the season! Spring, summer, and fall--the deck outback overlooks the river and sets a great scene for a beer! There's TV's, plenty of bar space, the perfect munchie menu, and plenty of growler/crowler options. A local staple, it's a must stop to enjoy great craft (a lot of Vermont!) beers, with great company. read more

Only giving 2 stars because the beer was good.... We walked in, said hi to the guy behind the bar, he said nothing in return. We asked for a tap list and were greeted by an eye roll and a 'I'll turn the tv on' and point to the wall behind us. Ordered our beers... more silence. No music, no tv volume, no conversation. We were excited to go and hoped to sample some more beers but after the cold and awkward few minutes there we drank our beers quickly and left. We said bye... nothing from the bartender. Could have been fun but we both barely even wanted to order the one beer. Potential but, would prefer friendly staff and some background music! read more

Though it is in an out-of-downtown location, right off 302, this place is worth a visit. The beer selection is excellent, and the $5 burgers are hands-down the best deal in Barre-Montpelier. Definitely worth a try. read more

Wow. My boyfriend and I are here for a weekend of skiing (up from NYC), and we fell upon this father-son run bar--which is out of this world. As beer people, we can say this confidently: BNG has over 50 beers on tap (everything from double IPAs to bourbon-infused stouts to red ales). The two of us ended up with multiple flights and half of the menu (drunk eats, yassss)...and more importantly, with a place on our map to visit again every time we're in the area. We also left with three growlers and a 6-pack because we couldn't get enough of the awesome craft beer. A great place to get craft beer from all over the country (and local stuff too) whether you're passing through or staying for a while. 5/5 will come again. Highly recommend read more

Expansive 44 draft selection as well a novel 'crowler ' bottling system. Tasty pub fare with air fried instead of oil field food. Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you, Floyd has set a very nice pub including the requisite nice conversation with added feature of classic rock playing on the sound system. read more
