    BBQ chicken sandwich
    Andy B.

Cozy, friendly Vermont pub off the beaten path. If you're looking for a local pub with a great atmosphere, this is your place! With a menu stocked with plenty of tavern options with VT flare and a decent beer on tap menu, Dumb Luck is a place worth visiting. Topped with fast and friendly service, I recommend Dumb Luck Pub in Hinesburg VT!

But it's more than just a restaurant, it's a relaxed bar that's both modern and rustic. My wife and I visited for the first time tonight for dinner. We arrived to find a meticulously-clean establishment finished in a very comfortable wood theme, like a cabin. We were greeted by the owner and took a table rather than sitting at the bar. The bar was quite crowded and there were a couple other tables occupied, but the noise level wasn't bad. There are TVs visible from almost any angle for sports fans. Bucky's has a full bar and and a solid beer selection that's sure to please anyone. I was impressed that there are some very high-quality selections available at the bar, including Maker's Mark. Your average small town bar often doesn't have that. The menu is surprisingly extensive and offers a wide variety of items. You'll find everything from basic pub fare to exotic chimichangas. Yes, there is such thing as a steak and cheese chimi! I can't wait to try that next time. There's a good amount of appetizers as well. The potato skins with bacon were among the best I've had-- go just for those if you aren't too hungry! For dinner we had a blue cheese burger and fish & chips. The burger was charbroiled greatness topped with unusually good blue cheese. Fries are typical shoestring type and are good but nothing special. The fried fish was a good portion and made just right. It didn't seem frozen or old and was perfectly flaky and tasty. The dessert menu looked great but we were stuffed by then. I remember an Italian lemon cake type offering, which I can't wait to try next time. The owners and waitstaff were very attentive to our needs and stopped by a couple times. The chef came out and spoke as well. There's a very familiar feeling and friendly vibe happening. Bucky's rocks, you need to go there, that's all I can say!

We were in town and our friend, who lives in the area, was very excited to take us to this place so we went as his guests. I was unimpressed and very disappointed with our experience. For a brewery they don't have much beer on tap, and my burger was burnt and had no flavor. Bar tender, a very young girl, was rude and ignored us the whole time we were there. I added one star because they let us eat on the counter behind the bar, otherwise they would only get 1 star. I left the bar smelling like burnt food and grease.

The edamame hummus with flatbread was so good, could have used a bit more bread though. We were happy with our dinner for the most part, one had the taco salad with salmon and was happy but I had a dish called Bibimbap with salmon that said Crispy Sesame Rice which was what I was after. It came in a small cast iron pan so I was excited and expected crispy rice! I didn't get it though, the rice was just there, Not crispy! Very disappointing! Bobby Flay would scoff at this poor excuse, we know what crispy rice is suppose to be like. The dish should just say with rice since I didn't get a hint of sesame either.

The disappointing part of our experience was the service. We ordered two appetizers that never came to our table. Our server never actually returned to our table after taking our order. We never had the opportunity to check on our appetizers or had the chance to order additional beers and cocktails. A different server did finally come to our table to check on us and he was very attentive. He removed the appetizers from the bill right away and brought us our check. The good food and drinks made the lack of service tolerable but from a business standpoint this establishment lost additional revenue from the lack of attention to detail when placing the order and failing to get additional alcoholic beverage orders. This also resulted in the minimum tip rather than the generous tipping I typically give good service. I would visit the Stone Corral again to see if this was a one-off experience.

For instance, if you get a burger, it's a good hearty size with nice fresh toppings and a pleasing amount of fries. Other options are lackluster. For instance, the chicken & french toast has so much promise. I expected 2 or 3 nice juicy chicken tenders with a couple pieces of homemade french toast, all eggy & cooked on a griddle. Nope. Three 3" hard "tenders" and a bunch of deep fried french toast sticks that arent all that dissimilar from those sold in the freezer section of the grocery. It was more of a kid's meal but it wasn't listed as such. I had hoped for something more elevated with a more homemade touch. Was it bad? No. Was i disappointed? Yes. That said, this place feels very homey and that I like a lot.
