The Mortician is one of those burgers that is so good I have a hard time ordering anything else. I typically split it with my wife and we both have plenty of food with the side of fries. When I am not with her, I have eaten the Yucatán, Hawaiian, Kimchi Burger and the Iconic. All very solid choices. The Morty's burrito is surprisingly good and a great choice for breakfast. One of our favorite things is the shakes and in particular, the German Chocolate Shake. An often over looked thing in Utah is the French fires. You guys don't understand how good you have it and we call them Utah fries. Absolutely delicious with a perfect crispy and texture with amazing flavor. I feel like Morty's vibe sits somewhere between your local mom-and-pop burger joint, and something like a Freddy's. I ordered a Patty Melt and fries. 10/10, great caramelized onions and good spicy Russian dressing. Fries are good, not the best but certainly not the worst! (We did carry out, so I imagine they'd be better fresh!) My husband ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Burger, and he gave a 7/10. Well seasoned and good meaty cheese, but the peppers and onions weren't grilled quite enough. The chicken nuggets are not good, taste like frozen nuggets you'd make at home. A stark contrast to the great burgers. Weirdly, the soda was horrible. Like the syrup was running low. They need to change that in the machine and/or warn people. I'd be fine with changing my drink selection. The scone fries are a fun sweet to end the meal with. Less sweet than a funnel cake dough (imo) but the raspberry cheesecake dip really helped! I had the only chicken sandwich they do. It was toasted with arugula cheddar cheese chicken pieces honey mustard and I'm not sure what else. It was delicious! My husband had a burger with a fried runny egg on it. He enjoyed it. He said the mustard they used was too strong but, that did not stop him from devouring it. They have the best french fries and fry sauce! I had a peach milkshake they called the "Peachy Cream". It was also delicious! My husband got a strawberry one and liked it as well. It's so unfortunate about the wait at this place because the food is delicious. BUT waiting for an HOUR for just a cheeseburger and fries is WAY TOO LONG!!!! We usually live Morty's; however, on July 4th we were really disappointed. We ordered a hamburger, a milkshake, a soft drink, and a strawberry, apple and candied pecan salad. The burger came out quickly and as always was excellent. When we were neal done with the burger ,(we shared), I asked about the rest of our order. They then brought out the milkshake. When we had finished the burger and shake, I once again asked about the rest of our meal. They checked out receipt and apologized. I asked that they bring the salad in a to go box. Later that evening, we sat down to eat the salad only to find that it only had greens and apple -- no strawberry, no candies nuts. Clearly not up to their normal standards. I left a comment/email about our experience from their webpage but haven't even received acknowledgement of receipt. While it was the 4th of July, they weren't at all busy so it can't be dismissed as the staff were overwhelmed with customers. read more

The pictures that they show in the restaurant of the hamburgers with lettuce and tomatoes and pickles and onions oozing out the sides was not a reality. I ordered a veggie burger, which was undercooked and mushy, but I seriously had to open the bun to look inside to see if they had remembered to put any of the dressings on. There was a tiny tomato slice in the middle. There was a couple pieces of lettuce only on one side of the hamburger, there were a couple of pickles right in the middle and a couples Shreds of onion. But if you just looked at the hamburger, it didn't look like there was anything on it. I wish they would make their hamburger look like the picture that they're showing. Also, the restaurant was very very cold and I couldn't wait to get out of there so I could go somewhere and get warm. read more

There's a lot of great burger places in Logan, and Mortys is up there. They have AWESOME battered fries, the scone fries are DOPE. But the burgers, they're awesome. The buns are soft and stay together, the meat is juicy, the toppings and combinations thereof are really good too. Downsides? Parking can be hard to find. But that's it. read more

They lost our online order and getting our food was quite delayed, but after that, everything went well. The burgers and sandwiches have creative spins (like the jalapeño pineapple relish for the Hawaiian) or a kimchi burger (haven't tried yet but want to). I am writing this review with the hope that someone will read it at Morty's and make some changes to bring things back to what they used to be. We have always LOVED morty's, and have been coming here for years. We moved away and came back to town recently and stopped in for a burger. After waiting for nearly 30 minutes, we got our burgers but the kids fries were missing. After another 10 minutes we got the kids fries but I had to go up and ask for our drinks. After biting into my burger, I pulled the bun off to discover a PILE of the aoli and three small pieces of burger fragments that covered about 25% of the bun. I spoke with someone and they quickly apologized for the patty and made me a new burger (they made me an iconic instead because the Frik'n burger was also gross). That came out quickly, but the bun was not toasted and it was covered in grease, the lettuce was wilted, cheese wasn't melted, and the burger patty's were very clearly a pre-formed pre-frozen patty. I really hope it was just a bad day, but the store was a disaster and looking very run down, service was slow, quality of food was poor, overall it was a poor experience. We loved Morty's so much so I was super disappointed. Next time we come to town, I will give it a try again to see if things have improved. read more

This was my first time here and have to say I was not a fan. The service was fine, but the food was not great. I had a hamburger and the bun was so hard and old, I couldn't even eat it. The fries were ok but not very hot. The hamburger was good but the condiments were a bit lacking and not very appetizing. In a place that we had previously called a good food desert because we could never find anything good to eat, Morty's was absolutely amazing. Before I start talking about their delicious burgers, let me say that I appreciate their simple menu and, while I'm a meat eater, their vegetarian options. Their burgers were juicy and very tasty. I had the kimchi burger and my husband had the Das Freaking Burger. The kimchi burger had very good kimchi, pickled carrots, sriracha-mayo, and Korean BBQ sauce. While I was very happy with my burger, it needed a little bit of sweetness. I could not taste the Korean BBQ sauce. Now Das Freaking Burger was freaking amazing!!! The beef and pork patty was super juicy and tasty--it would work very well in the Kimchi burger, just saying. The aioli was a revelation and while the sauce was a little spicy, it was all good. Sides are also important and their fries and onion rings were cooked to a perfect crisp on the outside, and they tasted great. I can't wait to come back to Logan and Morty's. read more

This place is right off campus and serves up delicious burgers, sandwiches and fries. They also make their own fry sauce. They offer dine in, which is unusual now with covid. The fries are crispy and not soggy and the Ruben was great. It looks like they offer delivery too. I visit Logan often, and will be adding this to my list of places to visit again. Honestly I had been to Morty's a couple of years ago and I remember it being great. It had amazing food and amazing customer service, but to my surprise when I gave it another chance I called in a to go order and the call it self was very unprofessional and when I got there to get my food I paid and got someone else's order. Trying to return it I did not get my food because "my order was not there and could not be "found" and yet I got my receipt with my order so I don't know what happened and I understand things get busy but I was upset that they "lost" it or it just "wasn't found". This place ROCKS and is so cheap! They're open pretty late and make you exactly what you want, based on the menu but they're happy to substitute toppings, add things and remove anything you don't want. All for no additional charge! The fries in this town are OUT OF THIS WORLD. I'm not usually into fries but they're triple fried or something and of course come with the "fry sauce" the entire town is serving with just about anything. I enjoyed a veggie burger, beef & bison burger the week I was there. All were great but the bison did taste a little "gamey" to me. UPDATE: Our most recent experience was not as great as before. The fries were still top notch, but the burger was over cooked and the raspberry cheesecake milkshake was basically inedible. The beef was super well done and it brought down the whole burger. Then they packed the milkshake with so many mix-ins that it was like sucking raspberry jam through a straw. I have no clue where the ice cream was in that shake. It should have been 70% less raspberry (and more ice cream). Hopefully they can get their consistency under control, because when Morty's is on they are really good. ORIGINAL: Morty's is a miracle of Cache Valley. Everything here is top notch- the burgers, the sides, the breakfast, and now even the new and improved shakes. I'll just list some of my favorites: The Hawaiian Burger. The Sunny Side burger. Anytime I go to a new burger place, I get the basic burger to see how they do. First off, I asked the person, a college student, at the counter if the bun had dairy. They said, "it has eggs." Interesting that a person in college thinks that chicken is dairy. I have never seen a cow lay an egg before. Next we ordered a basic burger no cheese, condiments on the side (which was Morty's sauce, which was described as mayo, ketchup, and paprika.) The burger came with red onions, deli style pickles and lettuce. While the cook was good, the flavor was lacking. Almost like they didn't season the burger even with salt or pepper. If it wasn't for the delicious pickles and onions, he wouldn't have finished the small burger. We also ordered a grilled cheese and fries. The fries were the best thing and executed well. The grilled cheese was not good. It had two pieces of bland American cheese, almost tasteless, and the cheese wasn't melted all the way. They also put mayonnaise on the inside of the sandwich, which completely ruined it. Also they were out of the scone fries that are so popular, and it was only 11:30am. Either way, we won't be coming back. If you like really bland white bread food, this is the place for you. Very Midwest boring. read more

Yes. My experience here was straight up stellar. From the CLEAN restrooms and the CLEAN tables, to the SCRUMPTIOUS burgers and the FUN people--I had an all around great time. Like I said, it's a pretty new place so everything is nice and up to date. Don't get me wrong, some of my very favorite burgers joints have been a little bit on the sketchy side, but Morty's style is suave and I appreciate that. The food was delightful. I ordered the Hawaiian Burger (and had to pick off the jalepeño slices since hot and spicy is not my area of expertise--have you ever seen me in a red dress? Yep, nope) as well as some killer sweet potato fries. I've tried the onion rings and regular fries, both of which as good, but I want great. And that's where the sweet potato fries come in. It's slightly pricey, but I think it's worth it. My burger was about $8 and fries were $3. There are different options, some of which are cheaper or more expensive; the range of what you'll spend will most likely be around $5-$13. It is pretty tiny, that's the only bummer. Parking is hard to find, and if there are a lot of people, the odds of you getting a table are slim. In the summer, you can go upstairs and eat on the upper balcony. I guess you could eat there in the winter too, but only if you want your fingers to fall off. All I need is someone to give me a menu of their secret menu, and I'd be SET. TIPS & TRICKS: * Grab a punch card and try the different burgers they have to offer! Plus punch cards are always fun, they get you free stuff. * Trivia Tuesday! Grab a group of 5 people and play every Tuesday at 7:30. The owner rewards the winning team with money to use at Morty's, so why WOULDN'T you go play?
