Our Experience with Jeff Bartee, Bartee Inspections, PLLC…read more On June 17, 2026, we had a very disappointing experience during the inspection of our home. My husband drove two hours to unlock our rural property and provide access. From the beginning, we felt the inspector's demeanor was rude and unprofessional. I was on speakerphone and heard him tell my husband, "Don't follow me, I work alone," after my husband simply offered documentation for the home's upgrades. Throughout the inspection, my husband complied with every request, including removing a lock from the breaker box that had been installed after our property was vandalized. Later, while securing the home after the inspection ran well past its scheduled end time, the inspector became visibly angry, forcefully kicked open our storm door, and left the home. As my husband opened the gate for the inspector to leave, he was forced to move out of the way when the inspector accelerated while backing out. Believing he had nearly been struck, my husband hit the side of the truck to get the inspector's attention. The inspector then returned to the property, yelling and cursing, until my husband advised he was contacting law enforcement. The San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office responded, a police report was filed, and photographs were taken at the scene. I have also filed a formal complaint with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), and our listing agent will be submitting a witness complaint as well. We respect the important role home inspectors play, but we also believe every inspection should be conducted with professionalism, respect, and safety. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Bartee Inspections, PLLC.
