He is aggressive, inappropriate, verbally abusive, incompetent and completely unprofessional. I needed a shower to be repaired.I called him and he came by same day to see what the job required and to quote the job. He told me he could return on the following Saturday morning with the right part to repair and if that didn't correct the situation he would need to replace the entire shower system. He felt certain that he could repair the faucet handle. He quoted me $650 if the the system needed a full repair. He was complaining the entire time about every customer that day had large dogs and he was angry and wound up from the moment he walked through my door. It was very uncomfortable to be around him. He returned the following Saturday and removed the hot water handle to the shower. I advised him that I purchased a new shower kit, 3 handle that appeared to be the same that was installed prior. He attempted to use the new kit, then went to his truck and brought in a delta cartridge that didn't fit. In fact the cartridge he jammed it in the stem. He then could not stop the water from running out the shower faucet. He then picked up the new shower kit and slammed it on the floor stating "I don't know why people buy this shi...." He yelled at me "Throw it away or send it back to Jeff Bezos." He was there an hour. During that time he kept trying to engage me in personal small talk, and pressuring me to go out with him for drinks. I declined. He then charged me $200 for his 1 hour of incompetency and rudeness, and informed me he would be would need to return and install an entire new shower kit and go thru the plaster wall behind the shower. He then told me to go to the Kingston Brass website and send him an email with the photos of what I wanted, he would approve and I would purchase. I had to leave town unexpectedly.. Upon my return I sent Rich Dodaro a text message with a link to the shower faucet kit I was going to purchase. He said it was fine. It was delivered and I called him to reschedule. I was going to have my son there because I did not want to be alone with this guy. He then asked if I was still using my son's home to shower as mine was not working. . I explained that ...I had no working shower in my home. He said, but I fixed it...you had running water when I left. I said no, remember you couldn't repair it, that is why you had me order the new kit. He couldn't remember what he did and he seemed to be very confused. I told him that he charged me $200 and couldn't repair the faucet handle, that I could not return the first kit because he damaged the parts, and I ordered the 2nd replacement for $300, and...I was now at $700 and still have a broken shower. I told him I wanted to be sure that the $650 he quoted me would resolve the problem, and I again asked what availability he had to complete the job. I was able to call, text, and email her as often or as little as I needed to and ALWAYS received a response. The communication was exceptional from start to finish. Someone came out that same week to take a look and give out a timely estimate. This company does offer financing, although we did not use it. The quote was less than half of what the other company had quoted us. We got a straight forward diagnosis, with honest pricing, and reliable service. The team came out on the day they were scheduled at the time they were scheduled. They were able to complete our project in only 2 days. Extremely efficient, and walked my husband through what they were doing and put us at ease with what still needed to be done. This is truly 5-star service. We had an issue where the pilot on our hot water tank went out and would not ignite. Revelation assured me they could check out my situation within 12 hours, and they provide these really nice text messages to give you precise updates on ETA, allowing the customer to plan their day accordingly. When Mike from Revelation showed up, he spent a little bit of time checking out the issue, and then correctly diagnosed it as an assembly failure. At this point, he laid out my options: replace the part, replace the tank, upgrade the tank (go bigger or go tankless). Mike gave me all the time in the world to sort out what I wanted to do, even allowing me to do some researching on the internet. When I had some questions, he gave me very honest, objective, fact-based responses, and he didn't try to sway my decision one way or the other. I really appreciate how he allowed me to perform due diligence and take my time. Considering that we'll be in the home for a while, I decided to take the plunge into tankless (on account of a recommendation from a friend who did the same thing), and the Revelation crew was able to show up the very next morning. They also offered to replace our "stack pipe" - drain pipe from upstairs fixtures - for $14K! Why? Because of a leak at the bottom of the stack in the basement. The online appointment booking was very convenient, and I was able to book an appointment for first thing Monday morning. Nick was communicative prior to the appointment and Joe arrived promptly at the appointment time. Cheddar's was able to diagnose that it was a much larger problem than a small basement leak, involving needing part of the original stack replaced. Nick patiently walked me through what he thought the issue was, recommended a company to come in to reveal access to the pipes and dry out the leak area. The whole process was a pretty big deal, especially since it's the first time I had to deal with something like this. Nick was so transparent, patient in explaining everything, committed to helping me fix everything quickly, communicated between multiple parties, and just was so empathetic to the problem and disruption it caused, that he even ended up talking me off the ledge multiple times. This was way above and beyond in regards to customer service. These pads sometimes leak underneath and recently when mopping I have noticed some leakage in the toilet area. Mopping with bleach was no longer cutting it and I started to realize that under the toilet was the problem. I needed to have a plumber come and take the toilet off so I could clean well underneath, put it back in place and obviously find a better solution for my dog going forward because this is just bad. I reached out to Drain Bros. via Yelp on the strength of their excellent reviews and proximity to me in Bethel Park. They had a same day opening which was amazing. I almost immediately heard back from someone via text to confirm I still needed help, followed up by a call to make the appointment. Technician Seth called when he was about 15 minutes from my house to let me know his location. He was hard-working and knowledgeable, had no qualms about the nature of the problem I was so horrified about, and when the toilet was off set about cleaning the tile himself, although I insisted it should be my job as it's my dog. He said when he replaces a toilet he always cleans well underneath no matter what to start from a clean footprint, so it was absolutely no problem. He also said my timing was good because the wax seal under my toilet had been giving out and needed to be replaced. He did very good work with attention to detail, pride in the job and respect, putting on shoe covers whenever he needed to come in or out of the house. Earlier during the initial phone call, I asked for an estimate for this job, was quoted $250 and that was exactly what I was charged. I found these guys to be very efficient, honest and upfront. You all led me to this small, local business and you were spot-on, so I am paying it forward by adding my review! My family had our pipes freeze in the winter storm this Christmas. Friday, it was the cold water pipe, which took seven hours of work to unfreeze. We thought we were in the clear and counted our blessings as we kept the cold water running overnight Friday -- only to discover Saturday around noon that the hot water pipe was now frozen solid. Twelve straight hours of effort with hair dryers, space heaters, boiling water pots, heating pad wraps and everything else we could think of did not work and we went to sleep Christmas Eve defeated, wondering how we were hosting the rest of my family on Christmas with no hot water, dishwasher, etc. (Our efforts did eventually pay off with the hot water coming on at 8 a.m. Christmas morning and no pipes bursting. So grateful.) During this nightmare I called a number of plumbers who list themselves as emergency 24/7 plumbers, but only Gary from Brickhaas called back. He called during the span of time that I thought everything was under control, but I asked if we could be booked for later in the week to unclog a bathroom drain I've had a problem with lately. Glad I booked them as, after the pipes thawed, the under sink drain was leaking slightly so Dominic was able to take a look at both of these things today. He called with a 20-minute heads up on his arrival, efficiently took care of the clogged sink and an aerator that was limiting water flow, installed a new kitchen sink trap assembly (which he said I could honestly take or leave; I appreciated the honesty but opted to replace for my own peace of mind), and offered solid advice about what we might do if plans to better insulate those water pipes in the future didn't work out re: rerouting the pipes from their current, poor location.
