Not willing to lie, I heard a rumor this place served "dolphin steak". The food enthusiast in me immediately made plans to drive the hour or so to try this restaurant as soon as possible, all the while my excitement was building. Upon arriving I was informed my source (my coworker) had been incorrect. They DO serve dolphin fish steak which is commonly called Mahi Mahi. After debating on leaving, me and my companion ordered drinks (the Banana Foster Martini) and the calamari while we made up our minds. Both of which where exceptional and enticed us to stay for the whole meal. And, in total honesty, it was the best meal I've had in my life. We both ordered the 12 oz. Rib eye and it was a transcendental experience. The meat was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and from our table we watched it being cooked! We followed with these amazing oreo beignets given complimentary from the owner after hearing about our dolphin steak debacle. After filling ourselves with amazing food, I couldn't even remember why I was upset when I had first arrived. I asked my companion ,after we complimented our sweet and speedy server Emily, and waited for our checks what he thought was the worst part of the Beau Vines experience? "Leaving." Yes, I believe that sums up the experience perfectly. The worst part of coming to Beau Vines is making yourself leave. Although the atmosphere appeared to suggest a nicer dress code, we were accepted with open arms in our tshirts, shorts and jeans! You don't want to miss this place. The BEST steaks in Ruston. I ordered a filet togo and it was so tender I was able to cut it with my plastic cutlery. No matter which appetizer you choose to start with you can't lose. The filet delights and ahi tuna are my top choices. Usually followed by a salad with either house made Caesar, ranch, or house dressing. Other than the amazing quality of their filets, ribeyes, & porterhouse, I also love their juicy grilled chicken, sweet satsuma glazed salmon, grilled or fried shrimp, and pork chop. Over priced. Let us start with the half wilted house salad and blue cheese dressing that contained no blue cheese then on to the creamed spinach. It was spinach floating in very light cream. The saving grace was the garlic, just right. I ordered 12 oz ribeye medium rare, because it should be a tender succulent cut of the cow. It was cooked correctly and had some kind of marinade slightly vinegar and peppery, pretty tasty. The meat was terrible, I get better quality at Sams, it was very chewy with gristle running through it. My jaw got tired and I stopped fighting about half way through. Go to Logan s or Outback, they may over tenderize but the steak won't fight back. read more

We love going to Beau Vines as often as possible and it is always great, but I have never written a review. Tonight we had an especially great experience as the ribeye was one of the best I've had and the special Mardi Gras cheesecake beignet dessert was phenomenal. The service was exceptional and I was impressed with our waiter's knowledge of the craft beer selection. Absolutely the best steak in the area. Try the filet mignon! Not only was the steak good...the sweet tea was incredibly delicious! We had an incredible dining experience at Beau Vines, in Ruston, LA. The Shrimp Martini with Bam Bam sauce, Gumbo, House Salad Dressing, Filet, Pork Chop, Green Beans wrapped in Bacon and the Asparagus were all absolutely delicious! The bottle of wine that we selected paired beautifully with our meal. The ambiance is classy, yet very comfortable. Very gracious staff who allowed my party of 12 to be seated a half an hour early after the La Tech graduation ceremony. Good quality steak and nice atmosphere. I just read a previous review that was horrible about this restaurant but I don't know what on earth they were talking about. We have eaten here many times and it is consistently AMAZING! Ruston was soooo in need of this restaurant. The wedge salad is really good. We have tried many of the appetizers and deserts and they are all good as well. I always have steak and it is always cooked perfectly. For those of you who have ever eaten a "Rabb's Burger", it is seasoned like that basically. It is definitely a little pricey compared to other places in Ruston but it is by far the best restaurant in town. It is perfect for special occasions, date night and such. We went to a friends birthday party here and they were easily able to accommodate our group and get us all our food in a timely fashion...that can be iffy at other places when you are in a large group. They do have a Sunday brunch which we are dying to try but have not yet. Basically, we will definitely be going back and I highly recommend you try it if you have not already! read more
