The food here was really good. I don't live in the area and we were looking for a place that had Italian food and this did not disappoint. I had the lasagna and my coworker had the lobster ravioli. Both of these items were really good. The salad was really good. Unfortunately, the minestrone soup was not the best. Maybe it was just because I was not used to the none tomato based style of the soup but everything else was really really good. The service was great. The young lady that helped us was very nice and answered all of our questions and the actual style and layout of the restaurant is very rustic, very quaint, very modern, but friendly and family oriented. This place was recommended by a few locals, so with limited options in the area I figured I would give them a shot. I ordered the eggplant parmesan to go. It was a nice sized portion for a reasonable price. It came with rolls and a side salad. The rolls were fine. The salad had a great ceasar dressing but it wasn't really a ceasar salad. It appeared to be a mixed greens salad with ceasar dressing. I did enjoy the meal overall, so I would love to dine in next time I'm in town. Limited parking..fyi. read more

Service was super friendly. Casual laid back atmosphere. Food was ok. I had house special salmon and pasta. Salmon was good. But way too many capers in the dish. Husband ordered grilled chicken and veggies. Went with the suggestion of the waiter to add honey glaze and that was a mistake. Honey hardened almost immediately making it very very hard to eat. Roma's is one of my favorite restaurants. It is clean, welcoming, and well managed. They have a bar that seems to be busy. Since I don't drink, I can't speak about this part of the restaurant. Service is always above expectations. You can figure on $50 for drinks, salads and entrees, but the quality and quantity of the food makes it a good value. Now to the real reason for the review. The food! My favorite is the chicken Milanese. Thin fried chicken breast with buttery Alfredo sauce, bacon, and spinach. So so good. What wouldn't be with these ingredients cooked with care and served with flair. Combine that with a side salad and the delicious rolls that they bring out hot from the oven and I am doing my happy dance. Portions are large - I always have leftovers. I can never fit dessert in - cannolis and cheesecake. I have had the best pizza here as well as chicken Parmesan. Many others think the chicken Murphy - pink sauce and jalapeños is the perfect meal. I don't like hot, so I can't comment. This is one of my two favorites in Ruston and makes the top 5 of all. They even have a party room to rent for private parties. See what you think. read more

Wife's pasta combo was dated but good, presented together in small dish buried in sauce and layer of cheese, should update presentation and flavor profiles between elements of dish. My entree of grilled chicken and vegetables in olive oil and fresh garlic was shockingly good. Tried to be healthy but ended up with the best chicken and veg ever tasted. Perfection. Made me rethink chicken entirely and how to approach veg. Going back on return trip. PS the calamari might have been frozen though seasoned, battered, and fried perfectly. We ordered the chicken Milanese and chicken Alfredo. The food and service were not as good this visit as it has been in the past. In fact, I wavered between giving a 3 or 4 star review. I went with 4 mainly because I've had better experiences here. This time the chicken was overcooked, the bread was dense and chewy, and our server seemed to always be walking away the moment she stopped at our table. We might ask for something and not even have time to ask for a second thing because she would already be leaving. The restaurant itself was clean and decor was slightly more upscale than your average restaurant. Acoustics in this building are generally bad though. If there are more than a few tables, it gets really loud. read more

I have dined in and done take out from Roma's over the years and it's been a hit or miss. This time I ordered through doordash and it arrived quickly. I ordered Calamari, extra crispy, side salad, small veggie pizza. Let me start by saying I lived in Naples, Italy as a child and I know nothing will really compare but I know what it should be like. When I order calamari here before it is a hit or miss. The very first time I tried it here I was like, this is exactly like in Italy, small rounds and perfectly fried. The time before this the squid was large in size and like flashed fried. The larger the squid is, it tends to be chewy and with it not fried that long it was not so good to me. So when I ordered the calamari this time I wanted to make sure it was crispy. Unfortunately, it was crispy but over cooked and they were large again, so it was tough and over cooked and not hot at all. The marinara sauce was hotter then the calamari. The side salad was good, it was just a basic salad, the tomatoes were over ripe but it was ok. I always order the house dressing cause that tomato vinaigrette is oh so good to me. The pizza I get from time to time but I love that they use real mozzarella. I have tried the margarita pizza a couple times. The couple times I ordered it, it was good but they don't put pizza sauce on it and in Italy they usually put sauce on it, so I wanted to try something different. I got the veggie pizza this time. The cheese was good, but was very little pizza sauce and it was cold like it was pre-made. Not room temp but cold, like it had been refrigerated, so that was disappointing. The lemonchello cake was good and the cake was soft and lemony. I know all over it is hard finding staff so corners may need to be cut to try and stay a float with orders, so maybe never time I would eat in cause I do want to continue to support our local small businesses. read more

I don't know how many restaurants have been in this building in the last fifteen years but they're always good. Roma's is no different. If you like cheese, this is the place to be. Pretty sure every dish comes covered in it. Pair that with great cocktail options and friendly staff and it's a winner for sure. read more

This hot spot opened when I was in grad school, and when my husband and I were in town, I knew we needed to drop in. I had the chicken Parmesan, and he ordered the lasagna. Our dishes were served hot and fresh (like just out of the oven - to perfection), and my husband said it was some of the best lasagna he's had. I have a gluten allergy but took Gluten Cutter so I wouldn't get sick (it works wonders). I wish they offered gluten-free pasta, but considering Ruston is a small town, I'm not surprised. We weren't huge fans of the rolls - we found them lacking in salt, but it was a busy Sunday (we've also tasted worse rolls elsewhere). Besides that, everything else was spectacular. If you come on a Sunday, arrive by noon - otherwise, there will probably be a wait. read more

We stopped in Ruston, La on our way from Tampa to Texas and found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We are SO glad we did. The food was delicious and the service was absolutely great. I got a pizza to go, and it was ok. I got the BBQ chicken pizza. The crust wasn't cooked to my liking, and the flavor was a little lacking. I asked for Parmesan Cheese and the gave me a little cup with enough for maybe two slices. It's partly my fault. I didn't speak up and ask for more, or tell them how to cook my pizza. I really liked that marina was mixed in with the lemon/butter, it was really a nice flavor, but the shrimp were over cooked a bit making them chewy. We took a road trip and ended up in Ruston when we came across Roma's. I was quite impressed with the decor, ambiance, service and food. We started with appetizers, ie Mozzarella Caprese and Calamari. Both were excellent and tasty. My main course was lasagna and my wife had Shrimp Scampi. Our son had Spaghetti. Everything was great although I do wish my lasagna was a little thicker but overall very good. My wife and our son both loved their meals. Overall great experience. Coming back! read more

I always go during lunch time on Tuesday-Thursday. Great and consistent food. I usually get the Greek salad with chicken. Their house Italian dressing is bomb. And everything I've gotten and seen is a respectable portion. If you stay for dessert, the chocolate cheesecake is awesome and enough to split between two. It was rainy-ish day, and I was feeling for Italian food, so of course, I hoped on here and I came across Roma. The bread for the table was nice and warm and a great start to a great night. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo, which came with 5 really big shrimp over linguini pasta. The pasta was exactly the comfort food that I needed. I was too full to order a dessert but the other members of the table got one of the many cheesecake flavors and they loved it. Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! First off they brought out rolls so big and fluffy we could have made a meal just on them! We ordered stuffed mushrooms that were unlike any we've had. The sauce was amazing! We then split a Stromboli- again best ever. Their bread/dough is unbelievably good.
