We were extremely fortunate to have hired Beaujolais Catering for our July 2023 wedding. Not only was the food fantastic (our guests are still raving about it!), but Michelle was an absolute joy to work with. In many ways, she was like our own wedding planner - she was incredibly organized and knew to ask all the right questions. Small touches, like delivering a dish to our apartment we weren't able to try at our initial tasting, were so meaningful to us. Not to mention, Michelle even crafted some incredible accompaniments for our signature cocktails (the lavender honey simple syrup she made out of lavender from her own garden was incredible!). I can't say enough good things about Beaujolais. Their food is delicious, flavorful and beautifully prepared. They have catered our company holiday party for the last five years and each event has been a huge success. I had an absolutely horrific experience working with Michelle on my wedding, and ended up having to fire her a week before the event. From the start, she was inattentive, unwilling to work with us, but continued to move forward with things. As most couples do, we were working with a budget, and initially, that was not an issue with her. However, when we met with her at the venue two weeks ago, she began badmouthing us to the venue host while we were standing there. She refused to send over the budget breakdown over email for a week and a half, putting us in the position of being unsure what was happening and where we were headed. Michelle was a nervous wreck when we tried to work with her, and it was an absolutely horrible experience. If you have any sort of budget, I am warning you: she is not willing to work within your budget. If I could mark 0 Stars, I would. Also, we didn't get our deposit back. read more

Mike and Michelle at Beaujolais Catering are fabulous! I work at MIT and I've been using them to cater both big and small events for nearly four years - and they have provided reliably delicious meals every single time. People often come up to me after lunch and say things like "The food was fabulous! Who did the catering?" (the desserts are particularly popular, especially their cupcakes). They can create just about any kind of dish you can imagine, which is great if you have something special in mind. However, I trust their judgment so much that I usually just let them plan the menu and surprise us. We have a lot of vegetarians in our department so I usually have them do a half vegetarian menu - and they always come up with wonderful and creative meatless entrees. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous so you get a lot of bang for your buck. I feel very lucky to be able to rely on them whenever I have hungry masses to feed! read more

Our synagogue recommended Michelle to us when we were looking for a caterer for our son's Bar Mitzvah. She provided appetizers, plated entrees, and dessert for a 40-person dinner reception in a tent (also box treats to go). She was pretty terrific in all aspects of the catering process. She was super in the planning stage -- easy to communicate with, always listening carefully to us, responding with agility to changes thrown up by shifting COVID restrictions. Her advice was dependably sound, and while she was decisive whenever we needed help making up our minds, she was never pushy. And she was extremely knowledgeable about local venues, permitting, other vendors, etc., which was really helpful. When it came time to stage the event, she and her team were extremely professional and efficient. She had pledged that she would be able to completely staff the reception, no easy feat these days, and we never had to worry about that. Throughout the evening she was confident, in control, and reassuring. The liquor delivery actually ran late (a separate vendor, not her responsibility) and Michelle promised us as we went into the service that if it didn't show up in time for the reception (which it did, barely) she would run out and buy it herself. And her food was delicious overall! Perhaps the kiddie option chicken fingers didn't quite do for us, but everything else was excellent, with the appetizers a particular highlight. A number of our choices were vegetarian, and they were every bit as yummy as the rest. All in all we were EXTREMELY satisfied with our experience and wouldn't hesitate to use Michelle again, or recommend her to others. read more

Where to begin? Hiring Michelle and the Beaujolais is the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding day. The food was amazing - and it's not often that I hear people talk about how good a food at a wedding is! We still now have guests a year later mention how good it was. Michelle was also so accomodating and let us make the perfect menu for our guests - from gluten and dairy allergies, to special new flavors of cupcakes that we liked the most, it was exactly what we wanted! Her communication skills throughout the process made us feel very stress free and relaxed, especially for someone like me who is an overly-organized planner! Her experience at our wedding venue was a huge help as well. She knew exactly what to do with little direction from us - and although a little rain messed up our plans of having an outdoor cocktail hour last minute, Michelle worked quickly to come up with a good solution with our wedding coordinator to have the next best thing. Beaujolais catered my wedding tea at Mount Auburn Cemetery this spring and they were fantastic. Everyone I spoke with was impressed by the food, the kindness of the waitstaff as well as the small details the caterers included (signs on the iced tea, simple syrup for sweetening). As everyone else has been saying, Mike and Michelle are just wonderful. Mike was really kind and understanding during the time leading up to the wedding. What a great guy! My husband and I were also really impressed by the tasting they planned for us in the fall. Not only did they let us sample all their food; they also brought in the cheese they planned on serving, too. They certainly didn't need to do that! I worked with Michelle to plan a luncheon following a funeral. She was a pleasure to work with, making it so easy for us. I have used Beaujolais Catering several times, and attended other events where they catered the food. I have never been disappointed. Mike, the chef and owner, is a pleasure to work with. He's down to earth, doesn't pull any punches, his food is creative and delicious, and his prices are extremely fair. He catered a small dinner party for my husband's 50th birthday, and all I wanted was pot-pie and salad. He whipped up pans of both chicken and veggie pot pies, and they were both out of this world delicious. It was exactly what we wanted for this casual, winter gathering. Recently he catered a fun cocktail and hors d'oevres party, and had fabulous stations as well as passed hors d'oevres. One of the stations was a noodle bar, and instead of plates he had small chinese-food take-out containers. So creative, and the 3 different styles of noodles were all fabulous. He also has a fantastic staff of waitstaff and assistants. I will use him anytime I need to hire a catererer. p.s. Hands down the best catering experience I have ever had. We hired Mike and Michelle this past October for our wedding in Arlington. They rule. They were very professional and helpful throughout the wedding and everything leading up to it. The food was phenomenal. Seriously, PHENOMENAL! They had me eating and enjoying foods I typically don't eat. They made the whole process painless and were very patient with us in our moments of indecision. I recently threw a party at our house for my wife's 40th birthday and decided to use Beaujolais for our catering and they were great. They showed up before the guests arrived and took care of all the food preparation. Usually when we throw a party or have people over during the holidays we end up spending so much time and energy on the food with all the shopping and prep work, and then all the cooking and cleaning. It's hard to enjoy yourself sometimes, but with Michelle doing the catering it was great. They were very professional and after the party there was almost nothing to clean up. It made a great night even better. The food was great and all our guests enjoyed it. I would totally recommend spending the extra and having them serve it as well. read more
