It was very easy to order for pickup. You can order through Toast Tab on their website. I basically just walked in and out with my order. I ordered the "European Vacation" cheese board which came with three cheeses and two jams and a fig cake to pair with each cheese. It also came with half of a demi baguette. Everything was delicious and the best part was that someone did the pairing for you. Next time, I'll opt in for the wine or beer pairing too. read more

My girlfriend recently moved into the 2211 building above this cheese shop. We stopped in once and it looked OK. She came back in mid-August and there were 2 totally separate issues. First: I hear there was a cheese for sale with the origin listed as West Cork: United Kingdom. Being of Irish descent she took offense at this and let the cheese salesperson know. The response was a shrugging of the shoulders. The 2nd issue: she still gave the shop the benefit of the doubt and bought some fancy cheddar, "Roelli Haus Select Cheddar", $29.99 per pound. We tried it with a total of 4 people and we all agreed it was inedible, it ended up in the garbage. I now pass by all the time but I won't spend any $$ here. read more

Had a virtual wine tasting a few weeks ago and needed to find some cheese pairings to go with it. This place really delivered! Their website user experience is pretty and user friendly; I got to live chat with an employee at the store! I told them the wines I was having in the virtual tasting and they recommended three excellent pairings. I picked up 8 cheeses, olives, salami (for the meat eater) for an outdoor hang the other night. Everything was literally amazing. The serving portion for the cheeses was generous, and there was a unique (and delicious) pairing of either a jam or pickle or sauce with each of them. It was THE best cheese plate I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of cheese, ok? My guests were obsessed with every bite. Very impressed. I called yesterday and had the best experience. I live in San Diego and wanted to surprise my sister with a something special. I called and spoke to very sweet young man. My sister lives slightly out of their delivery zone but he told me he would make it happen to make sure she had a great treat. An immediate favorite in the neighborhood. While they opened during stay at home policies, they made the best out of it. Purchasing and exploring their inventory is incredibly easy, intuitive, and enjoyable. Picking up my order was safe, clean, and convenient. It was nice seeing a glimpse of the store / dining area as well. I can't wait to visit and chow / drink down in person. In the meantime, I can't wait to reorder. Prices are reasonable, staff knowledgeable, and cheese delicious! -- at time of posting, I highly suggest their Salemville blue, fromage d'affinois (a Brie), and the challerhocker The only suggestion I have at this time is that it would be great to have a quick note on where each cheese is from on the online description. I rarely do reviews but must post about the FABULOUS virtual cheese class I did with Randall, the owner of A Beautiful Rind. He knew that our group was a team of all females, so he made sure that all the cheeses he arranged for us were from female cheesemakers. Not only was it a really sweet gesture, but the cheese was AMAZING. we did 6 cheeses and some spreads and toasts. It was lovely and showcased a variety of unique cheeses that Randall works hard to feature in the shop. His motto is "good cheese by good people" and I think that says a lot about him as the owner and the quality of the shop. read more

Oh my god. This place is amazing. We ordered $60 of cheese and wine from the super knowledgeable and helpful cheesemonger Will for our quarantine splurge of the month. The cheese was insane and the Lambrusco was the highlight of my week. Can't recommend this place (and it's incredible employees) enough. such a great place! organized a virtual "intro to cheese" tasting for my team, and all of the deliveries were prompt and on time!! the portions of cheese were massive, probably enough for four people once you add your own accoutrements (the kit does come with jam, pickles, and olives, but would recommend getting some fresh veg, crusty bread, and cured meats to round out the spread and make a full treat!!!). there were four types of cheese and they were all super delicious!! i don't normally like blue cheese, but thoroughly enjoyed the one they included, and the cheddar was absolutely out of this world!! the olives, pickles, and jam were also so high quality, and randall's passion and knowledge for cheese shown throughout the video and kept us actively engaged despite being a recording. also, the staff were so accommodating and full of care in making sure this virtual experience went as smoothly as possible :) such a gem of a small business and could not recommend enough!!! read more

Can't say enough about the excellent customer service and professionalism. I've both been in the store and ordered delivery, and the staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and unpushy. Special preferences are honored. Tonight our delivery order was messed up (the driver delivered us someone else's order), I called the store and it was fixed courteously and without fuss. Do NOT order anything other than cold cheese/meat. The waiter failed to tell us they were out of one of the limited cheeses on the menu. We also ordered off the Cheesy Dishes menu and it took over 1.5 hours to get our food ... and the restaurant maybe had 5 tables to serve. read more
