We stopped in at about 8pm on a Saturday. The restaurant portion was hopping, with many people dining and chatting, but the cheese counter was our destination. We had great help from Emily as we made selections. Beautiful Rind has a fine variety that included several domestic and import cheeses I hadn't seen before. I would've loved to have gotten some of the soft rind cheeses available, but alas, I was traveling the next day and needed more durable cheeses! I bought four small wedges plus a goat caramel from the counter. I would be glad to return here on another trip to Chicago!

Made a reservation here for my birthday dinner and it was such a great choice! We ordered the charcuterie board that came with everything and had such a great time sampling all the cheeses and meats. Everything was delicious and I appreciated how knowledgeable the server was (she gave me a great wine recommendation). Had to get some cheese to take home, too. Will definitely be back!

Coming to Beautiful Rind was by far the best experience I've had so far in Chicago. We did a cheese tasting class on a Saturday evening. It was in a private classroom with about 15 other people, so it was the perfect environment to learn about cheeses. Our instructor Anna was the smartest person I have even met. The cheeses they picked for us were unbelievable (and they filled us up really fast). We ended up buying one of the cheeses from the class in their store, and it was even better the second time. I really want to come back for the cheese and margaritas class.

Great spot for cheese enthusiasts! You can create your own charcuterie board with a variety of different selections from the Beautiful Rind menu. There are a variety of wine options to choose from and the riesling is delicious! You can also purchase various treats including chocolates, cheese, wine, tinned fish and other sweets. I enjoyed my dinner here and would definitely come back! Enjoy!

So happy to have stumbled upon this. Absolutely perfect for late afternoon snack. Happy Hour menu of snacks, drinks and cheeses is a great deal (3-5:30p). Exceptional bread and crackers. The rest of the menu is very fairly priced and there is a large selection of meats and cheeses that aren't all the typical varieties. It's also a retail shop for meats, cheeses, wines, timed fish, chocolates, nuts, crackers, etc etc Friendly service. Bright, comfortable room. Apparently they have cheese appreciation classes. A few sidewalk tables. Great place. Highly recommended.

My girl got us a tasting as our Welcome to Chicago gift! We just moved about a year ago and I failed to review Beautiful Rind! We had a great time, we were served ample cheese and charcuterie, and learned a little something to boot! An intimate setting, great teacher/host, and fantastic cheese. We went back on another occasion and had a sandwich and some cheese - maybe pimiento cheese? - and thoroughly enjoyed that experience too. The sandwich wasn't cheap but it was surprisingly in its size, so as cheap as even I am, I was impressed : ) Gotta go back soon, it's been too long!

Single best place to eat cheese in Chicago. I could end the review there, and it would be all you need to know. I have been to Beautiful Rind several times, and each visit moves me to tears over how good the cheese is. That's right - I have shed tears here about cheese. If you aren't well versed in cheese, the staff are exceptional. They listen, they care, and they will help you make great choices. I can't wait to go back. Also if "Brillat Savarin" or "Meredith Dairy" are on the menu...order it and then write me a love letter.

Really cool wine and cheese shop! I can imagine it would be a perfect place for a date. Stopped in with a friend to check out all things charcuterie and they had quite the selection! We were asked if we had any questions and staff seemed very friendly to explain. The decor was clean, simple and modern looking, plenty spacious inside but included a wine wall, crackers, cheese, chocolate, etc. I think it's worth stopping in whether you're walking by or you're staying for an event or cheese tasting!

Such a cute spot! If you love cheese, you must go. We got the cheese for dinner where they pick your cheeses for you and the flaming bread cheese. The sandwiches sounded delicious but we were too full so we have to go back.

This was an amazing late lunch spot - the staff were so kind and informative. The vibe was super chill and the music was 10/10. The cheeses were all to die for and it was great to see some harder to find cheeses. And the pairings for each one were so good!

We had such a lovely group wine and cheese tasting class here! I've done my fair share of wine tastings in my time, but the cheese pairings from a certified cheese specialist - the owner - made it even more exceptional. The cheeses were so unique and flavorful - and the owner talked us through where and how the cheeses are made, what flavors pair well with which wines, and was so so knowledgeable. This is a great activity for a group - you'll learn and enjoy! They have an adorable storefront as well with cheese, wine and items for purchase. Bring some friends here and geek out on this incredible cheese!

The server made sure to modify everything to be GF and had the potatoes cooked in a separate pan to avoid cross contamination. We also had the GF almond cake. Cheese, marvelous cheese!…read more Are you that person with at least five varieties of cheese in your fridge, just in case? Well, I can straight up de-mystify the Stamper Cheese agenda. They are cheese pushers. Like so many artisanal fromage purveyors, their wares suck you in, and you just crave more. Must have fresh mozzarella cheese balls, that is my personal mantra. Twice a week, at either the Federal/Daley/ or Willis Tower Farmers Market, I shuffle up to their booth to score my fix, satiating the gnawing jones of a cheese fiend. The days in between, I try to make it last, stretch it out. Mostly, the fresh mozzarella balls will do. Occasionally, I might venture into a goat cheese gouda, apricot brie, or a nettle infused variety. You know what nettles are? Yeah. They STING you. And apparently, they're good for you too. Only Stamper Cheese would have the cojones to use stinging nettles in their cheese. Get some. It's good. It's a hard cheese variety, and quite tasty. No store front, but they have a Printer's Row Cheese Drop Off. Check their website, Facebook, or better yet, email them for details, since the outdoor Farmers Market season is now over. The winter is that much bleaker without you, Stamper Cheese.

Typical bruschetta you see has tomato, which was what I was hoping for when I ordered it, but there were no tomatoes at all. Instead, there were green peas, and a whole lot of cheeses on top consisting of whipped ricotta cheese. The taste made me regret getting the bruschetta, which I usually love. And the gnocchi dish... don't even get me started. The texture made me think I was eating raw dough from my baking sessions. It looked promising when the dish first came out, but the mozzarella cheese on top was chewier than the gnocchi itself. The gnocchi would just become a strange mash when poked with by my fork. The gnocchi was overcooked which resulted in a mushy paste when it should have been pillowy and have a slight resistance when bitten into. Maybe their other foods may have been good, but the combo I got was not filling. I barely touched the gnocchi.

Seating was ample and over all clean. They serve Lavazza coffee which is great, and definitely elevates the experience. This counter/ cafe area low key reminds me of a mini food hall, and I really loved the amount of options that were offered. They have pizza, a bakery, gelato, pasta, and packed/ ready to go options. Since I had time, I decided to stay parked and grabbed a slice of pizza. It's Roman style, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. It wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad! It was hard to decide which one to get, but I got prosciutto. It is a bit pricy, but that's downtown Chicago. I got a chance to look around at the market area and the store is really cool. The potato chips the dip came with were massive, fantastic, ruffle cut slices. Dip was good, trout roe ($18) gave it that extra pop of flavor. Our favorite dish of the night was definitely the beef tongue, so tender and balanced with textures and acidity. Mains were: Pappardelle (mushroom and carrot ragu) - I liked this best out of the three pastas, pasta was very tender. Cappelletti (beef, celery root fonduta) - felt a little under al dente in the sections where it was pasta pressed against pasta. The beef filling was on the average side, a simple, braised beef. Strozzapreti (duck bolognese + parm reggiano) - pasta was cooked perfectly, but the sauce leaned salty. Our half chicken arrived once we were finishing the pastas. Juicy and tender, with the fat/skin rendered out nicely. The sauce was good, but felt the chicken itself was lacking seasoning/flavor. The remaining duck ragu came in handy for extra saltiness. Finished the meal with the terrazzo cheesecake, and gelato scoop trio (roasted vanilla, peanut butter cookie dough brownie, and frutti di bosco sorbet). Cheesecake was light and wiggly, definitely contained some gelatin and cubes of strawberry jello; not too sweet. I enjoyed the peanut butter gelato the most, was very tasty mixed with the sorbet to make a little pb and j concoction. They also gave a little slice of chocolate cake as we were there for a celebration. Overall, appetizers were a hit, with the dessert coming in second, and entrees following thereafter. Was ~$240 w the included 25% service fee between 3 people. The food feels like 3.5 stars as the food was inconsistently good across courses, but the service/ambiance pushes it to a 4. Worth a try if you can get a reservation.
