Made a reservation here for my birthday dinner and it was such a great choice! We ordered the charcuterie board that came with everything and had such a great time sampling all the cheeses and meats. Everything was delicious and I appreciated how knowledgeable the server was (she gave me a great wine recommendation). Had to get some cheese to take home, too. Will definitely be back!

Coming to Beautiful Rind was by far the best experience I've had so far in Chicago. We did a cheese tasting class on a Saturday evening. It was in a private classroom with about 15 other people, so it was the perfect environment to learn about cheeses. Our instructor Anna was the smartest person I have even met. The cheeses they picked for us were unbelievable (and they filled us up really fast). We ended up buying one of the cheeses from the class in their store, and it was even better the second time. I really want to come back for the cheese and margaritas class.

We love this place so much that we come back often. On this occasion we celebrated with starters of chips and pretzels, which were scrumptious with the cheese and mustard dips. For our main, we did a cheese and meat selection of 5. The standouts were the Red Rock blue cheese cheddar and the prosciutto. It was so good that we took home extras after our meal. In addition to the great food is their continued amazing service. Our server was exceptional with attentive service and excellent suggestions. Do make your way here!

Great spot for cheese enthusiasts! You can create your own charcuterie board with a variety of different selections from the Beautiful Rind menu. There are a variety of wine options to choose from and the riesling is delicious! You can also purchase various treats including chocolates, cheese, wine, tinned fish and other sweets. I enjoyed my dinner here and would definitely come back! Enjoy!

So happy to have stumbled upon this. Absolutely perfect for late afternoon snack. Happy Hour menu of snacks, drinks and cheeses is a great deal (3-5:30p). Exceptional bread and crackers. The rest of the menu is very fairly priced and there is a large selection of meats and cheeses that aren't all the typical varieties. It's also a retail shop for meats, cheeses, wines, timed fish, chocolates, nuts, crackers, etc etc Friendly service. Bright, comfortable room. Apparently they have cheese appreciation classes. A few sidewalk tables. Great place. Highly recommended.

My girl got us a tasting as our Welcome to Chicago gift! We just moved about a year ago and I failed to review Beautiful Rind! We had a great time, we were served ample cheese and charcuterie, and learned a little something to boot! An intimate setting, great teacher/host, and fantastic cheese. We went back on another occasion and had a sandwich and some cheese - maybe pimiento cheese? - and thoroughly enjoyed that experience too. The sandwich wasn't cheap but it was surprisingly in its size, so as cheap as even I am, I was impressed : ) Gotta go back soon, it's been too long!

Single best place to eat cheese in Chicago. I could end the review there, and it would be all you need to know. I have been to Beautiful Rind several times, and each visit moves me to tears over how good the cheese is. That's right - I have shed tears here about cheese. If you aren't well versed in cheese, the staff are exceptional. They listen, they care, and they will help you make great choices. I can't wait to go back. Also if "Brillat Savarin" or "Meredith Dairy" are on the menu...order it and then write me a love letter.

Really cool wine and cheese shop! I can imagine it would be a perfect place for a date. Stopped in with a friend to check out all things charcuterie and they had quite the selection! We were asked if we had any questions and staff seemed very friendly to explain. The decor was clean, simple and modern looking, plenty spacious inside but included a wine wall, crackers, cheese, chocolate, etc. I think it's worth stopping in whether you're walking by or you're staying for an event or cheese tasting!

Such a cute spot! If you love cheese, you must go. We got the cheese for dinner where they pick your cheeses for you and the flaming bread cheese. The sandwiches sounded delicious but we were too full so we have to go back.

This was an amazing late lunch spot - the staff were so kind and informative. The vibe was super chill and the music was 10/10. The cheeses were all to die for and it was great to see some harder to find cheeses. And the pairings for each one were so good!

We had such a lovely group wine and cheese tasting class here! I've done my fair share of wine tastings in my time, but the cheese pairings from a certified cheese specialist - the owner - made it even more exceptional. The cheeses were so unique and flavorful - and the owner talked us through where and how the cheeses are made, what flavors pair well with which wines, and was so so knowledgeable. This is a great activity for a group - you'll learn and enjoy! They have an adorable storefront as well with cheese, wine and items for purchase. Bring some friends here and geek out on this incredible cheese!

I should preface that the lady I initially encountered at the Streeterville market (a few years ago) had always been great-- offering tastings, friendly and answered my questions, which is how I was hooked to a couple of their cheeses (by tasting and purchasing,) along with the friendly service I received. The staff at the Daley Plaza market is a different story. They genuinely seem bothered by anyone asking any questions or by anyone asking for tasting samples. And, on more than one occasion, I have witnessed them be downright rude/hostile toward seemingly well meaning customers asking about tastings or inquiries regarding a potential purchase (these inquires were nothing out of the ordinary, with the cheese(s) in question already open and unwrapped with little to no traffic behind). There is a very strange and irritated way of interacting with other humans at this stand. On another similar occasion, I witnessed a staff have a meltdown in front of me-- seemed angry/agitated and just stopped making eye contact/engaging, and then completely shut down. ?? I also e-mailed them about their general taste tasting policy and never heard back. They may just not care about long-term customer retention or relations. If you don't care about the treatment you receive and are okay with buying cheeses you can't taste then this may be a good place to get some cheese you would not find at a grocery store. If you value customer service and would like to taste test some cheeses prior to purchase, then this place is a gamble (depending on who is serving you and the mood they are in that day).
