Tonight was my 1st visit. And I love this place, plenty of space for a class, socializing and a private space for classes/tasting. The employees are full of information and so friendly. Really love the cheese most of all. Did a private class/tasting the sport pepper delish had my mouth watering! The event was so fun and full of information. And cheese lots of delicious cheese. They also have a wide selection of wine and snacks.

We stopped in at about 8pm on a Saturday. The restaurant portion was hopping, with many people dining and chatting, but the cheese counter was our destination. We had great help from Emily as we made selections. Beautiful Rind has a fine variety that included several domestic and import cheeses I hadn't seen before. I would've loved to have gotten some of the soft rind cheeses available, but alas, I was traveling the next day and needed more durable cheeses! I bought four small wedges plus a goat caramel from the counter. I would be glad to return here on another trip to Chicago!

Coming to Beautiful Rind was by far the best experience I've had so far in Chicago. We did a cheese tasting class on a Saturday evening. It was in a private classroom with about 15 other people, so it was the perfect environment to learn about cheeses. Our instructor Anna was the smartest person I have even met. The cheeses they picked for us were unbelievable (and they filled us up really fast). We ended up buying one of the cheeses from the class in their store, and it was even better the second time. I really want to come back for the cheese and margaritas class.

Made a reservation here for my birthday dinner and it was such a great choice! We ordered the charcuterie board that came with everything and had such a great time sampling all the cheeses and meats. Everything was delicious and I appreciated how knowledgeable the server was (she gave me a great wine recommendation). Had to get some cheese to take home, too. Will definitely be back!

Great spot for cheese enthusiasts! You can create your own charcuterie board with a variety of different selections from the Beautiful Rind menu. There are a variety of wine options to choose from and the riesling is delicious! You can also purchase various treats including chocolates, cheese, wine, tinned fish and other sweets. I enjoyed my dinner here and would definitely come back! Enjoy!

So happy to have stumbled upon this. Absolutely perfect for late afternoon snack. Happy Hour menu of snacks, drinks and cheeses is a great deal (3-5:30p). Exceptional bread and crackers. The rest of the menu is very fairly priced and there is a large selection of meats and cheeses that aren't all the typical varieties. It's also a retail shop for meats, cheeses, wines, timed fish, chocolates, nuts, crackers, etc etc Friendly service. Bright, comfortable room. Apparently they have cheese appreciation classes. A few sidewalk tables. Great place. Highly recommended.

My girl got us a tasting as our Welcome to Chicago gift! We just moved about a year ago and I failed to review Beautiful Rind! We had a great time, we were served ample cheese and charcuterie, and learned a little something to boot! An intimate setting, great teacher/host, and fantastic cheese. We went back on another occasion and had a sandwich and some cheese - maybe pimiento cheese? - and thoroughly enjoyed that experience too. The sandwich wasn't cheap but it was surprisingly in its size, so as cheap as even I am, I was impressed : ) Gotta go back soon, it's been too long!

Single best place to eat cheese in Chicago. I could end the review there, and it would be all you need to know. I have been to Beautiful Rind several times, and each visit moves me to tears over how good the cheese is. That's right - I have shed tears here about cheese. If you aren't well versed in cheese, the staff are exceptional. They listen, they care, and they will help you make great choices. I can't wait to go back. Also if "Brillat Savarin" or "Meredith Dairy" are on the menu...order it and then write me a love letter.

Really cool wine and cheese shop! I can imagine it would be a perfect place for a date. Stopped in with a friend to check out all things charcuterie and they had quite the selection! We were asked if we had any questions and staff seemed very friendly to explain. The decor was clean, simple and modern looking, plenty spacious inside but included a wine wall, crackers, cheese, chocolate, etc. I think it's worth stopping in whether you're walking by or you're staying for an event or cheese tasting!

Such a cute spot! If you love cheese, you must go. We got the cheese for dinner where they pick your cheeses for you and the flaming bread cheese. The sandwiches sounded delicious but we were too full so we have to go back.

We had such a lovely group wine and cheese tasting class here! I've done my fair share of wine tastings in my time, but the cheese pairings from a certified cheese specialist - the owner - made it even more exceptional. The cheeses were so unique and flavorful - and the owner talked us through where and how the cheeses are made, what flavors pair well with which wines, and was so so knowledgeable. This is a great activity for a group - you'll learn and enjoy! They have an adorable storefront as well with cheese, wine and items for purchase. Bring some friends here and geek out on this incredible cheese!

I was recently in town with my work team and we were set up with a trip to this awesome little specialty cheese shop! Aside from the dining room and shop itself, they have a private room where they host classes, which is what our group was lucky enough to experience. The overall atmosphere is quite enjoyable with plenty of natural light, a beautiful wall of wine that sits inside a curved archway, and lots of spread out seating for those who come to dine on snack, sandwiches, salads and sweets. Do I love wine and cheese? Absolutely. Do I know a lot about wine and cheese? Absolutely not. This workshop was entertaining, engaging, and taught us all plenty of fun facts we wouldn't of otherwise known. When we arrived, the table was wonderful set with ten spots that included a board of four gourmet cheeses, small pickles, tasty olives, and a fresh made jam. In front of the boards sat three different poured wines (a fourth to be added later on), and a few baskets of crackers. The owner Randall, who was delightful and friendly, walked us around the board from cheese to cheese, teaching us their origin, explaining the process they were made, and helping us understand which wine paired best and why. There wasn't a bite or a sip that I did not enjoy! I can't say I'll have many returns, as I live out of state, however if I lived locally I would no doubt stop in for five-star cheeses and wines on the regular. For now though, I'll just leave my high recommendation for others! Enjoy :)

Very cozy place with a nice vibe to catch up with friends or if you want a simple, but tasty brunch. We ordered the daily cheese board with two meats, and the beef brisket deep sandwich. Honestly I was not impressed by the board, but the meats were really good. The baguette was 10/10 even the salad that comes with it was great. The main reason for the 4 stars is the $20 cork fee. I was shocked and disappointed since the main reason I picked that place was to have a bottle of wine. Most of them were $30, 35, $40 plus $20 cork fee which is incomprehensible to me, considering I'm buying the bottle from the establishment and also consuming it there plus the food I'm getting. Service was great and I appreciate that the server let us know that the gratuity was included.

The next screen only gave 3 options, the lowest was 18% and NONE of the options were "custom". So this was off to a bad start being forced into tipping 18%. Then the workers didn't have good customer service, no eye contact or friendliness at all, it's like the know they won't likely see most people ever again being this is at an airport. My expectations were not high, but I figured a grilled cheese and fig sandwich would be hard to mess up. However, that was not the case. The sandwich was burnt and only cute through the top slice of bread so I had to use my hand to tear it apart with made the bread fall apart. I also noticed a smell when I opened the wrapper that smelled like old oil. It wasn't fried so I don't understand this, just smelled of old oil or old butter. The bag it came in was all greasy too, I forgot to take picture of that. So for $15.69 for only a grilled cheese and dog sandwich, I do not recommend.

First, I explored the endless snack aisles and selected a bag of chocolate-hazelnut biscuits to take home. I couldn't resist the gelato and tried the pistachio flavor (yum!) On my next visit to Eataly a couple of days later, I ordered a cappuccino, and while my beverage took a long time to prepare, the espresso tasted very high quality. The pastries looked stunning and decadent, and I imagine they'd pair wonderfully with espresso if you have time to linger at the cafe (I was in a hurry to get to a work meeting). The next day, my team and I visited Eataly's restaurant for lunch. I selected the anchovy toast as my starter and the gnocchi for my main as part of the lunch special. The toast consisted of two slices of sourdough bread topped with creamy lemon spread and anchovies. The contrast of the bright lemon flavor with the ultra-salty anchovies was tempered by the creamy butter - these all paired together quite well. The gnocchi, on the other hand, was underwhelming. The gnocchi was much too soft (it had the texture of mashed potatoes), and the red sauce was bland. All in all, visiting Eataly was a cool way to experience gourmet Italian food.

Considering this place is supposed to have some class, we were pretty appalled that they seemed to do the bare minimum for this event. I felt very deceived by how this event was advertised online vs in real life. It seems they intentionally left out details and was marketed as five tastings at five counters, but we receieved barely a sample at each sation. The website said 1. house made pasta - you have one option and it was three bites, no vegetarian option 2. roman-style pizza - only thing I won't complain about although still a small portion 3. Curated drink from Caffe Lavazza - this was a dixie cup portion of a blended Frappuccino 4. house made pastry - they gave you the option of literal bite sized dessert, not a whole pastry 5. the artisanal salumi and formaggi - pathetic, literally 1 piece of meat, three pieces of the same type of cheeses, three olives, and dry stale crackers. Honestly for what they offer this was a slap in the face and from a consumer perspective Eataly's attempt at a summer money making scheme. I would find it hard to believe anyone who rave about this event, in fact I imagine most left very underwhelmed and still hungry. Eataly itself might be a great experience but we did not have the opportunity. We enjoyed the spritz drinks we ordered for their $9 summer special but this event did not make me want to return at all. It unfortunately dangled everything they could have offered in front of us, but then gave us the lowest tier. Driving in traffic to do this was not worth the time, gas, parking or inconvenience and the best part of our city night was when we stepped out of Eataly.
