Nice service good supply of products and selection of wigs in store would come again prices more than Amazon

If I could give this store zero stars, I would. As a Black woman, I have tried to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt, but after multiple uncomfortable experiences, I can no longer ignore what happened. The first incident involved staff closely watching another Black woman and her young child near the register. She was visibly uncomfortable and eventually left the store expressing that she felt targeted. When I addressed it, an employee attempted to dismiss the situation by offering me a small free item and quickly ushering me out. The second incident was far more serious. On Valentine's Day, I entered the store briefly to purchase hair clips. I was the only customer left inside when a female employee told me to "hold on" while speaking to another employee in another language. Shortly after, a male employee locked the doors while I was still inside the store. I was then questioned about a credit card dispute that I had absolutely no knowledge of. I am a frequent customer and had no reason to dispute any charge. I was pressured to pay and when I asked why they believed it was me, I was abruptly ushered out and the doors were locked behind me. Being locked inside a store and accused of something without explanation was frightening and deeply upsetting. No customer deserves to be treated this way. Be careful when shopping for wigs here. I was told the wig I purchased was 30 inches, but when I got home, it was nowhere near that length. They also did not put the wig in its original packaging, which felt deceptive. The wig was overpriced and not at all what I was promised. I would not recommend shopping here. read more

I only gave a star because I had to. We went in here on a $50 budget with a gift card gifted to me for my birthday this year 2025. The older Asian man proceeded to say there is new management and are giftcard no longer works in their store. My gift card looked exactly the same as their new ones. Same color and logo with the beauty supplies name on it, I will post a picture of it in the comments. The card also has which locations we can spend the gift card at. We went to the Hawthorne location because it was closer. The man still proceeded to say we could not use it at the store but can go online and order . Very disappointed! read more

Good: Fully stocked with all kinds of hair care products and accessories, including other things like nail polish and lip gloss. Bad: I really needed barber supplies like blades and guards for my clippers. The Asian man behind the counter was very unfamiliar with what I needed and was hesitant to open the locked cabinet in the corner. Everyone is always so friendly here. The establishment is professional and the staff is able to answer any questions you may have about products. Also, every time I've been here, it's always clean. Pretty impressive selection of hair products. They don't seem to sell items such as body wax or gel nail polish. They have a plethora of hair care for natural hair/African American hair. If you want relaxer, they also carry different brands of that. The "fanciest brand" they carry is Paul Mitchell and Moroccan Oil. They also have a section of Wella hair color and toners. They don't carry Aveda or Wella shampoo products. Sorry ladies, no Olaplex either. Amazon sells the Moroccan oil treatment 3.4 fl oz for $44. I got it here for $40. That's always nice to save a few bucks. The wig/hair piece section is huge. They have full lace, bundles, etc. it seems as if they carry budget friendly artificial hair and also human hair. It seems like a new store but this is their 12th franchise as told to me by the employee. They are heavy in the east coast hence the unfamiliarity of the brand. As far as discrimination goes, I wasn't followed around the store or treated oddly. This place is absolutely RACIST! As many times that I been here, about a month ago an Asian man with glasses who works there (I'm not sure if he is new management) but literally decided to follow me around the store as I was shopping for strip lashes. I ended up feeling so uncomfortable I asked the young teenage cashier to assist me with what I was looking for. I been coming here for almost a year now (probably 6-8 months) and never felt this discriminated against. Especially in an area that serves PREDOMINANTLY black and brown individuals. I would suggest not coming to this store if you are a person of color. I'm so upset and disappointed in how much money I gave this business prior!!!! Great selection, literally has every product you can think of. Only issue is they are RACIST. If you're black, you will be followed and watched the entire time you're there. I was approached multiple times by the worker with pink hair and each time I let him know I was good and didn't need help. However he insisted on helping me and following me to every isle while his Asian boss watched. Almost as if he was instructed to follow me... as well as another black woman who had a different worker hounding her. There were customers of other races in the isles who were not followed or interrogated so I know for sure this is a race issue. Do better! Especially knowing your target demographic based on the products you supply. It makes shoppers feel extremely uncomfortable and it's very insulting to treat customers different based on race. This place has a good selection but they follow and watch too much. I understand there are so many establishments that are the victim of thefts but you have to find some balance so that customers feel welcome. My daughter and I are in this place purchasing things too much for anyone to follow us they way they do. There are 3 other beauty supplies near us and we will discontinue supporting this one. Didn't have what I wanted but because I'm in a pinch for Halloween I grabbed the closest thing that I could find for my wig but while I searched the store for the pins I really wanted I was followed around by this male Asain employee. When I started to feel very uncomfortable I gave up and just went over to check out with the female clerk and the man stood on the other side of the counter just staring at me. All for a box of Bobby pins worth a measly $1. This is why we seek Black-owned businesses. Don't open up shop in our neighborhoods if you're going to treat us like thieves as soon as we walk in the door. Go to Be Brave across the street or even OK Beauty on Hawthorne and El Segundo. This review is incredibly overdue. I've been coming to this location since they first originally opened. I wont bore you with a long winded review so I'll get right to the good parts. The store is incredibly bright and clean. Very well maintained and super easy to navigate. It's got such a large selection of hair products, wigs, extensions of all kinds, and hair pieces. Theres even a nice bright size section of drug store makeup. All incredibly organized. I think the gem of the entire store is the incredibly large collection of eyelashes! So many eyelashes of all kinds and shapes and brands! At the best prices! Way better than CVS or Target. I highly recommend. The eyelashes range from prices around $2 all the way to $9. The wigs and hair pieces all range from $30-$200. But the best part of the store is the membership program (ID is only required when opening the membership then you can just enter your phone number every time after to use it) the savings can actually add up. The owner who is there everyday ALWAYS gives customers discounts on hair or if you're not buying hair he'll give a small discount on top of your membership discount as well. He also always gifts customers with small gifts from around the store, like free lashes, face mask, hair products, etc. I've bought stuff and they've told me that my selection is expensive brand and would help me switch out for the same product at a cheaper price so I never ever feel pressured or up sold. Today I bought real human hair extensions, 4 boxes of eyelash extensions and the total came to $100 but he discounted me down to $70 and gave me two boxes of free mink eyelashes. Super nice! Customer service is EXCEPTIONAL. I don't go anywhere else. As a side note, if you don't see any hair you want, just ask someone, they are incredibly nice and if you talk to the boss he will order it for you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

I've been a customer here for years and never had any type of issue with them. I've recommended many people here for many reasons. They have a large variety, they usually have pretty good sales going on all the time , etc . I have also always been welcomed and assisted as soon as I walked in the store. I have brought my boyfriend here with me multiple times as well. Today, I decided that he was ready to go by himself, and I sent him to buy a single container of edge control. However, when he arrived, he was not let into the store until I arrived ( a more familiar face ) and the owner/manager proceeded to say "oh, he's with you? Come on in " . From that moment on, I decided that I will never return here and will no longer recommend anyone to come here. Honestly, I had seen a few reviews stating that people had racist encounters, and we never had any issues, but I totally see why those reviews are posted. Loved the store. It's really nice and clean good selection of EVERYTHING. But Ive never felt so uncomfortable with how the owner or the only man in the store was watching and staring at the customers. 2 black women including myself in the store.. and this nice dressed woman was simply walking around looking at the wigs.. the MAN literally came to where I was to watch her from a far as she watched up each isle. They got hair treatments, from BOMB low priced makeup, to some good looking wigs and hair extensions. Shanique was super nice and helpful and answered all my questions about makeup products and hair tools. I got some 4D lashes that looked lovely and legit for a great price and some makeup.
