I was on Google looking for a particular edge control and decided to call some Beauty Supply stores that were in the area. I called, did an item check for the edge control I was looking for (6/28/25) and the man on the phone confirmed they had it! Kelly Beauty is nestled in a lot with lots of parking next to a credit union and Albertsons. When I walked in I saw (2) sweet and welcoming Asian men working the floor. I let them know I called and the guy from my phone directed the other to grab the product --by name -- that I needed and gave it to me. I attended to and appreciated the hospitality. Due to how nicely the store is set up I couldn't help but to look around they have a lot of black & brown products, beautiful scarfs at the front that'll grab your attention. I ended up getting x2 scarfs (long in length, big in width) and some braiding jewelry. My total came out to be $45 + change this included the edge control I needed. Yes, Yes, I know... that's a bit pricey but I believe it was worth it. The edge control if I ordered online from the supplier it would've been around the same amount (including tax, shipping/handling) I needed this immediately so I paid the price, lol. The scarfs were good quality and the braiding jewelry was very reasonably priced. Kelly Beauty had lots of products that some other beauty supplies don't even have in stock. Just sayin'. I'll come back here because I know they'll have it in stock. I recommend due to their vast inventory not due to pricing of course ('cause they're a bit high with some things) and maybe next time I'll find out: WHO IS KELLY!? read more

I looked at my checking account. They didn't give a receipt the next day or so and it's $14.35...so I called to inquiry about it and he's telling me I don't know. Very pleased they had the hair (EZ braid) I was looking for. I had been to 3 beauty supply stores in Carson and none of them had what I needed. 1 store carried the brand but not the color and the other 2 stores---nada! I think it's still kinda new as it is a hypoallergenic hair product for people that wear braids. There was a second product I tried all the stores for as well. Good local shop to buy my perming solutions, shampoo, conditioner and random hair and beauty related things. They don't carry high end brands which is a bummer but it works. To the reviewers who say they follow you around bc of racism, I've been followed on multiple occasions as well and I'm Korean American. Usually when I make eye contact they ask if I need help. As a daughter of small business owners (whom never followed people around, my parents were too lazy lol, but always got shit stolen from their shop), I get it. It sucks when people swipe stuff, even if it's small. Because those small things add up every time some cheap douchebag doesn't want to spend $10. If you don't like someone following you, just ask if they need anything and to please let you shop in peace bc you dont need help. What happened to civility?? Anyway, end rant. I went in looking for bohyme hair extensions 16" ash blonde. They only told me they had 18" and "22 inches... i had already bought blond extensions that were 16" at a place in corona ( i should of drove today) they put 16" hair in an 18" package, tried to charge me 280$... then they worked out their price to 16" prices for me 240$ i get my 16 inche hair extensions for 195$... i came home thinking i had to cut the 18inches to match with my 16". Guess what they were the same size, this is a rip off brand too, only last a week and then it tangles. Notice the 2 difference in packages.... MAJOR RIP OFF. NEVER GOING BACK!!!!! read more

However, they make your shopping experience extremely uncomfortable by following you around in the store and watching your every move in the cameras. I love this little beauty supply place. Its located a business down from Albertsons. It's small but compact with a bunch of beauty supplies! It's a little pricy compared to Sally's on some things but not on everything. They sell individual gloves for your hair coloring needs, and the guy that works there was very nice. I was looking for the shampoo that takes the orange/gold tones out of your hair and he knew exactly what I wanted and led the way! He also showed me to the toner and this little bleaching kit to do highlights! I even walked out with leave I conditioner. The moment my friend and I walked in, we were stared down by two workers. One a young male and other a older female. Their eyes followed every part we went to. Of course, my friend and I felt nervous since we knew that they think we were stealing some things. After 5 minutes, I was done with them staring at us and talking to each other in a strong tone while staring at us.(I didn't know what they were saying because I do not speak their language) I then told them "Don't worry we are not going to steal anything." They did not seem to look surprised and the lady yelled. "Then get out!" I was shocked and replied " umm if you want us to put our backpacks to the side or something we will, we are just looking at the stuff..." (We had backpacks because we went to go study at Starbucks) Then the guy said "I'm going to have to ask you to leave the store." I was so shocked! We were not acting suspicious. We did not have hands in our pockets or hoodies or anything. We were simply looking and talking about the braids and hair dyes! We didn't even touch most items or hide. Shocked, I said " ok, we were not stealing anything though. I'll be sure to write this on YELP." as I walked out the store with my friend. Don't go here. today was my last day going into this beauty supply. I have been going there for quite some time and today was the day. I brought a hair product and when I got home it seem like it was old the date was covered with a sticker but I could see a little and it looked like 2016, I told the guy that it was old and just wanted to exchange the product and even showed him where the box fell apart as I opened it, he goes and get another one peeling off the sticker to say it is not expired until 2026 and I was being calm and told him I just didn't want it because it's old I just want to get something else, this guy was so angry and wanted to try to argue with me and I think he called me stupid but could not really understand his non talking self. I wanted to tell him off and make a mess in the store but I didn't. I've been coming here for a while, and I can say that they definitely don't stereotype here. As long as you're nice and treat them like human beings, they are more than willing to help. I've seen people march into the store in a rude manner and that kind of attitude would upset anybody, regardless of race. The owner and his son are always helpful. They know exactly what to recommend from edge control, extensions, hair dyes, etc - for different types of hair. No. Never again. The owner is rude (at least he was towards me). I came here to buy duck bill clips and I saw some eyeliner. He rung up the eyeliner and I hadn't realized the price was so high, so I asked him to take it off. He got an instant attitude! He took the eyeliner off the bill and tossed it on the counter so hard it bounced off and fell on the floor. I paid with cash and he damn near threw the cash in my hand and some change fell out of my palm and onto the counter. Ignore negative reviews! This is the place to go! I went here to buy a hair pack. I was a little hesitant based on all of the previous reviews. However, I had a great experience. The two gentlemen there were very polite, patient and helpful with all of my questions. I couldn't make up my mind and they never made me feel rushed. They assured me to take my time and want to make me feel satisfied with my purchase. They have great prices and great selection on hair, hair products, wigs, makeup and nail polish! I have been to this store twice now and I can say that I will not be returning. My first visit was about 4 months ago. I went in to buy hair for box braids. It took me a while to figure out the color. The guy was nice and did not bother me at all probably because he was standing by the register watching. At the time I was the only customer in the store. I found the hair to be much more inexpensive compared to the prices I paid in Louisiana so I was pleased with the purchase. Let us fast forward to last week (July 4) when I made my second visit. I entered the store and there was a young lady and the same guy standing at the register. I was greeted as I entered. I want to say there was only one other customer inside but during my visit several customers entered and exited. I returned to buy the same hair as my previous visit. Unfortunately they only had the color I wanted in 3 bags and I needed 10. The man approached me 3 times and every time I looked up I caught his eye. I do not steal. I work hard for my money. I do not appreciate being watched. There is a shoplifting sign on the door when you enter so it is evident they must have encountered much theft. That however still does not automatically qualify me as a thief. So, I pondered about which shade would fit me best since they did not have what I came in for in stock. I placed the bags of hair at the front since they do not have shopping bags or carts and made my way to look for gel and edge control as well as just browse the store. The eco styler gel I purchased was inexpensive but the curls edge control was $5 more than what I could have spent at Target or Sallys. Excessive. I grabbed my items and decided the prices on product and the constant following and being bothered while shopping is not something I am willing to put up with. I've been shopping at this beauty supply store since it changed owners approximately ten years ago and I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!!! The owner sold my husband an electric clipper which malfunctioned two days after purchase and the owner refused to give a refund, stating that "something must be wrong with my outlet at home".... ABSOLUTE ABSURDITY!!! The clipper DID NOT WORK PROPERLY! It shut off intermittently and did not work properly. This owner lacks professionalism and knows nothing about customer service and obviously doesn't stand behind the products he sells. If there was nothing wrong with the the clipper, then why not refund my money??? His unwillingness to give a refund proves that he himself has no faith in his own product line. As I tried on two wigs, the older males salesperson silently watched me like a hawk. After being in this store for approx. 15 mins., another African American woman came in. She was with her teenaged daughter. The woman requested to try on a wig. The male sales clerk told her, she could try on one after I left the store! What? She looked at me and I looked at her in amazement. I asked him to repeat what he had said, and sure enough he said "she try on after she (that's me) leave" So needless to say, neither of us purchased anything from this store. I was introduced to this hair supply store by my best friend. This beauty supply store is Korean owned and the staff is very friendly. I've been buying 100% human hair clip on hair extensions(the brand is fashion source) for the past two years. The quality of hair is high considering the fact that the wear lasts for about a year withstanding the abuse of my waving iron and straightener ;). They also have 16in clip in hair extensions that costs $65.99 + tax, 18in for 80 or 90 dollars, and they also have 20 inch hair extensions. The wefts are thick, the clips stay in place( i've gone swimming in the beach and they haven't fallen off), and it comes in a set.
