Instead, we got a lesson in standing...and waiting. Small shop, and a strong "you already should know what you're doing" vibe from the jump. Staff definitely saw us, but conversation came first, customers came... whenever I guess. When I finally spoke up with a simple "Hi, we're here for a wig, my sister and a hairbrush are enemies, and we don't know much about wigs." One staff member immediately disappeared to the back like she wanted no parts of our novice wig life. The other attempted to help, but only if you already speak fluent Wig Law 301. Because apparently there is a language called lace front density 180 HD melt cutout invisible illusion something something. We tried to slow it down. Translate it. Break it into "beginner wig people terms." That did not happen. Now let's talk try-ons. Despite a wall full of wigs, only a select few are actually available to try on. Fair enough sanitation, I get it. But then don't be shocked when people ask how they're supposed to choose between honey blonde, chestnut, caramel swirl, and blonde ambition without seeing it on their actual head. The official guidance we received was "Hold the wig up to your face and imagine." Imagine? For a purchase that can cost hundreds. At that point, I started to feel like we had accidentally entered an advanced seminar instead of a retail store. No suggestions. No "this shade might work better with your skin tone." No "let me help you find your first wig." Just wigs and no vibes. We left still not knowing anything about wigs, except this: if you are not already wig expert you don't need to shop here. If you're a seasoned wig wearer who already knows exactly what lace density you need and can install it in your sleep, you'll probably be fine. As a beginner, maybe binge social media and bring a translator and prayer team.

If I could give this store zero stars, I would…read more As a Black woman, I have tried to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt, but after multiple uncomfortable experiences, I can no longer ignore what happened. The first incident involved staff closely watching another Black woman and her young child near the register. She was visibly uncomfortable and eventually left the store expressing that she felt targeted. When I addressed it, an employee attempted to dismiss the situation by offering me a small free item and quickly ushering me out. The second incident was far more serious. On Valentine's Day, I entered the store briefly to purchase hair clips. I was the only customer left inside when a female employee told me to "hold on" while speaking to another employee in another language. Shortly after, a male employee locked the doors while I was still inside the store. I was then questioned about a credit card dispute that I had absolutely no knowledge of. I am a frequent customer and had no reason to dispute any charge. I was pressured to pay and when I asked why they believed it was me, I was abruptly ushered out and the doors were locked behind me. Being locked inside a store and accused of something without explanation was frightening and deeply upsetting. No customer deserves to be treated this way. I encourage others to be aware of how they are treated
