Maggie is God sent, she came in early on a Sunday morning to make sure I was gorgeous for my sister 11AM wedding (did I mention on a SUNDAY) and did wayyyy beyond my expectations. It did not turn out well, so I decided to get it done here by Rogue. She was so incredibly kind and easy to work with throughout the entire visit, and I got the blue color I wanted! I really appreciated her flexibility and patience with all of my questions and requests regarding how I wanted my hair to look. She also gave me tons of advice for how to maintain the color for longer so that I wouldn't have to get it redone very often. I got my hair colored a few weeks back, and the color is still vibrant, and I always get compliments on it! If you're planning on coloring your hair, then I seriously recommend Rogue; I will definitely be going back to her in the future.

My hair stylist Angela isn't even listed in the reviews or on the website, so either she is super new, or she does such bad job constantly that they remove all her reviews. I was also told that 1 person just quit and another is on vacation for the rest of the month so you can tell the remaining 2 stylists are stressed. My appointment was at 3, and I wasn't seen until 3:30 because there are only 2 stylists working there and they are crazy short staffed. I showed Angela the reference pictures I described on the phone, and she's like "I don't do that type of color, but I can do something to blend ". Then she kept on telling me I had a lot of banding, I agreed but since I clearly told them that I had to dye my hair at home a few times when I booked the appointment I figured she knew this ahead of time and had a plan. Well $315 before tip later (they didn't even charge me for the full services since I think she realized how messed up this is) , I have the chunkiest highlights I have seen since the mid 2000's . The sad part is that the whole time Angela was hyping me up and telling me it looked good, so maybe she thinks this is good work? I also had to leave the salon with my hair wet because they didn't have time to blow dry, but I think it was so I couldn't see how bad the whole head looked. I DID provide several reference photos at the start of the visit, and we discussed them. I told her I didn't care about dead ends and I didn't want to go too short. She is one of those hair dressers who ONLY cares about dead ends and proceeded to chop off 4 inches of my hair. When I tried to explain the difference between what I wanted and what she had done she insisted that I must have misunderstood (? I've been getting the same haircut for years?). Then she tried saying that I didn't state what I wanted at the start. Finally, she said that it was my hair's fault, for being too tangly (???). I left the salon in tears and with lopsided hair with far more layers than I wanted and thin ends. I think she probably is used to giving similar haircuts to most of her clientele which is just not the haircut I wanted. Also, she still charged me $60 (versus a $70 original price) despite the fact that this was not at all what I wanted. I walked into a salon down the street and before I'd even said anything a stylist looked at the back of my head and said "oh girl. What happened to your hair?" It was THAT uneven and choppy. The cherry on top of all of it is that I tried pointing out a hole in the layers to Fenny, and she gaslit me and said 'oh that's just because your hair is pulled in front of your shoulders.' When I adjusted my hair at the salon I ran to to have them fix my hair, the stylist immediately said 'why is there a hole there?' It was wild. I left a review on Google too, and Fenny once again seemed unable to apologize without somehow implying that I made a mistake by not communicating clearly (despite the reference photos I provided and the instructions I gave before, during, and after the cut). Please consider going somewhere else unless you're interested in a cut that absolutely removes all dead ends and includes a ton of layers.

Temperature checks, hand sanitizing at every station that's open. Cleaning of each seat as it's turned over for the next client and rigorous social distancing - masks are worn by clients AND stylists and the absolute fabulous, Shana at the front desk that runs the show. Kent is a consummate professional. He employs locals and is an anchor in the neighborhood. I've recently moved from the west coast to Boston and Kent is actually one of the first people I met. He supports local artists, using the walls of the salon to highlight their work. Kent has a keen eye for for color, style and shape and I highly recommend giving his salon your business.
