My mom and I decided we needed pedicures while in Novato. This was the second place we called, as the first was entirely booked up. The woman on the phone told us to come in an hour and they would be able to do two gel pedicures and a gel manicure for me. The inside of this little salon is clean enough, and there are barriers at all stations to help keep COVID at bay. My mom's pedicure began at roughly 5pm, and mine didn't get started until about 5:15. The woman who greeted me and started my pedicure was very friendly. She was gentle with my feet and made them look great. After my pedicure, I went to the restroom which was nice and large. It was clean and looked maintained. When I sat down for manicure, I noticed one of the other women who worked there was cleaning her bare foot off with some sort of wipe. Okay, kind of off putting for sure. I shrugged it off. My manicure is just okay. I have little bits of gel on my fingers surrounding my nails, and the overall paint job seems hurried. I hope the owner of a Beauty Nails sees this post. You have a very unprofessional and rude employee working for you. I made a 10AM appointment. Other customers were seen immediately at 10 AM. 20 minutes later I asked if I was going to be helped? An employee who had walked in five minutes earlier said very rudely, " I don't know. I just got here!"and just stared at me. Then she motioned for me to change my seat where I've been sitting patiently for the past 20 minutes. I then asked her. Are you going to help me? She then again said "I don't know. I just got here"! Then I asked her so who am I scheduled with? She said Ryan. So I then asked is Ryan here? She said yes. Then I asked then why is Ryan not helping me? And instead of saying, let me see what's going on. She gave me attitude!! I turned around and I walked out quietly. I love that they are up to date on certification for Covid safety and that includes masks, social distancing, temperature checks and plexi glass shields. This is my first and last time coming here. I asked for a pedi with gel. I received a foot soak with just water. No foot softener nothing. When the lady took my previous color off which was gel she scraped my skin as well. Then she cut my cuticles never got under the nails. She scrubbed the bottom of my feet for 2 seconds and just in 1 spot. Then rinsed a painted my toes. And rubbed lotion in my feet and calf. She charged $50 for me getting gel nails. I asked if there were other types of pedi she said the special for $70. It sound like the same as the regular basic pedi that she gave me.I am not happy about the service that I got. The quality in nail service has really gone down hill. I usually don't leave bad reviews but I'm doing so in hopes the owner does something. I got this set done less than 2 weeks ago, I've actually been off work mostly so it's not like my nails have seen a beating. The last 3 times I've gotten my nails done here, I've come back with chips or breaks. I have never experienced my nails chipping or breaking until my nails are about 4 weeks old. It seems like whatever acrylic they are using now is not strong enough and less quality than whatever they were using prior. Please do something so I don't lose my nail salon. RUDE, HORRIBLE SERVICE, NAILS LOOK TERRIBLE. I used to love this salon and then I stopped going and couldn't remember why. I went yesterday and I was reminded immediately. I got a pedicure and during my pedicure the women were so busy talking to each other that most of the time I was literally sitting there watching them whisper in each others ears. she also did a horrible job. I got a full set on my hands and in between my hands and feet I waited over 30 minutes for the tech to come back from his break. I showed him a picture and he didn't really pay attention. My shape is NOTHING like what I asked for. When I asked for a little shorter he sighed and rolled him eyes. When I asked for it to be less pointy he shrugged and rolled his eyes. He painted one nail and asked if I liked the color and when I said no and grabbed a new one he asked me if I was sure and then sighed the whole time like it was such a horrible inconvenience. I loved this place! Lynn did my nails and they are EXACTLY what I wanted. The place smelled great, it was spacious, and a really pretty nail salon. Lynn was super funny and friendly. Everyone that was there seemed to be regulars. I felt soooo bad because I didn't have cash and they only accept cash as tip. Only reason I am not giving Beauty Nails 5 stars is because I had to wait a little longer than I was told they'd be available for me over the phone (although, to be fair, I did call in 30 min prior to getting there) but also, because it's a little costly. More than I have ever paid for acrylic- but then again.. you get what you paid for and I really think the work Lynn does was worth the wait and price - but for someone that doesn't usually do acrylic. If this was a regular thing for me, I wouldn't do it. Overall, I LOVE this place. It was great! I have been coming to Beauty Nails on and off for the past three years. Typically, I have had good experiences with Holly. But my most recent experience was extremely disappointing, and leaves me looking for a different salon. I never leave bad reviews, but I hope I can help someone with my personal experiences. I had an appointment with Lisa, and was called around 10 minutes before my appointment time (which was at 2pm) asking if I was still coming. I said I was, and that I was on my way. I arrive to the salon a few minutes after 2pm and was told that Lisa was working on somebody else. My appointment slot was given to a walk in. I understand I was a few minutes late, but I informed them that I was on my way, they said that was okay, and I was not given any heads up of someone trying to take my appointment time. I wanted something quite simple as well, just a dip manicure with no design, and did not expect my appointment to take the entire time. After being told Lisa could not work on me, I was told I could have someone else do my nails, or wait an extra hour to have Lisa do mine. At this point, I already made the trip to the salon, so I said I'd have someone else do them. The technician that did my nails was sweet, but did not have the experience needed to complete the almond manicure I wanted. I wanted a dip manicure with an almond shape. During my manicure, Lisa had to come over to assist with shaping my nails, demonstrating to my technician what an almond should look like. Unfortunately, this seemed like her first time doing this shape. I also noticed nail clippings from a previous client on the towel placed under my nails (I didn't have my nails cut), which was unhygienic. The end result was subpar, and I was charged $50 for nails I could have done better myself. I am now soaking off the set I got today. I'm so sad because I used to love coming to this salon. But the lack of professionalism and cleanliness leads me to look elsewhere. Be careful. read more

On the plus side, they were able to fit me in at the last minute for a mani pedi on a Friday afternoon. Also, the massage feature on their pedi chairs was sublime. They use a polish meant for gels on regular mani's and it is longer lasting than Opi polish. But those are the only positives I can say about my experience. The gal on the pedi expected me to be satisfied with a lukewarm bath. When I asked for hotter water, she looked angry since she had to scoop out the cold water. The gal on my mani... ugggg.... she was terrible. She wouldn't cut back my cuticles claiming that was skin (so I had to trim them myself when I got home). She didn't see the granule of debris in the polish on one nail until I pointed it out (ummm how could she not see that lump of stuff?). She applied so much polish that there is that crusty clump by each cuticle. It was a ridiculous manicure overall. And $40 for this experience? Soooo not returning to this place. read more

I have been very impressed with the quality of my nails every time I go here! (I have had both Lisa and Lynn do my nails.) I've been here three times now, and each time have left very happy with the results. Pros: -Good location. -Clean. -When I took a picture in to Lisa, she matched it EXACTLY, even though I thought it would be impossible! -Always do exactly what I request, but then if they have a suggestion for something that would look better, they let me know. (And they have never steered me wrong!) -Always make sure my nails look their best, even if it takes extra time. For example, I booked an appointment for just a fill, and then it turned out that my nails would match the picture I took in better if I got a new set. So Lisa took the extra time to remove my nails and do a brand new set. -Always parking right there. -If I call and make an appointment, they always start me right on time, I never have to wait. -My nails never have broken, even if I wait too long in between times to get them done. They last really well. Quality work. -They are quick. -Never make me bleed. :) Cons: -Not the cheapest place I've ever been. Although their prices are comparable to other nearby places. -I wish they did hand massages when doing nails :) I want to try a pedicure here sometime too.
