Eek, me thinks not is EXACTLY what I would say. The nicest part of about this salon is the website which the place looks nothing like. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!! The website is beautiful and being new to the area I thought that I would give the local salon a chance. I wanted to get my legs waxed and a pedicure. I saw Anne who also is the owner. I called ahead and made an appointment telling her exactly what I needed so that she would be able to schedule enough time. The salon itself is very bare bones, typical low rent type of salon, which can be fine, when clean and tidy, but this one was not. The waxing room was also used as storage for whatever and the place was messy and disorganized. I probably should not have continued, but I had called and scheduled the time and so I did. Anne was totally disorganized in her method of waxing, taking a patch here and a patch there, and leaving huge areas where the hair was unwaxed. She used a cheap talc powder when I complained that the wax was too hot, and then several times to have the wax dripped on me here and there because she was rushing. As it turned out she did not schedule enough time and her nails customer was complaining out in the main area of the salon. Anne went out in the middle of the waxing with part of my leg done and complained loudly to her customer that the reason that she was running behind was that I had too much hair!!!! Anne had her assistant come in to finish, she was calm and professional. She was orderly and has extra work cleaning up the mess that Anne made, the drips of wax every where and the spotty waxing job. Even then I came away smelling terrible from the cheap perfumed talc, had burns on my legs from too hot of wax, patches where there is still hair, and wax all over that I had to clean off myself when I got home. During the time that the assistant was cleaning up what she could, Anne left her nails customer several times and came back to check on the job, speaking only in Vietnamese. Then would leave the door wide open when she left. I imagined that she was telling the assistant to hurry up, that I wouldn't notice, and that this effort was not worth it. The pedicure which was also done by the assistant was fine, nothing special, and too highly priced for this low rent salon. I really would not go back, I doubt the hygiene of the place but don't want to think about that, as I have already been there. I would not go back if you paid me to. read more

As a regular customer of Cosabella Nails in Novato, I am pleased with the service Ann and her assistants provide me. I go to them for my pedicures and could not be more satisfied. They keep everything very clean, tidy, and comfortable, and always welcome me with a smile and enthusiasm. They do a very thorough job on my toenails and include a wonderful exfoliation and hot stone massage of my lower legs and feet :) Because they take such care in preparation and application of the polish, the polish stays on well, for a long time!! Girl that did my nails did by far the worst set of acrylic I've ever gotten. Completely unprofessional. I asked to please redo them on the next day, she said she wasn't gonna work that day so then I asked for her to give me my money back. she was aggressive on grabbing my hands to forcefully cut my nails. She asked me to never come back ever again, when all I did was to redo her pool quality work. I sat there for over 2 hours to get a shitty job done. Since my last review, I've returned to Cosabella and had a much better experience than on my first visit. I think it's only fair to give them an updated review. On my return trips to the salon, I have not encountered the surly employee who made my first manicure here a little uncomfortable. Each time since then, I've had only friendly service and have completely enjoyed the experience. While I still find the price point a little high, it seems to be somewhat standard for Marin. Also, my mani/pedis do last quite a long time. I'll be back! read more

Terrible experience here. I came with mom for a girls' day out. We were not even acknowledged when we walked in. In fact, a client smiled at me a full 30 seconds before a manicurist looked up and said curtly, "What do you want?" Nice. The woman who eventually did my nails said only one thing to me: "How are you?" She said this quite flatly but I decided I might try kindness to soften the interaction. "Fine, thanks. How are YOU?" Nothing. And nothing for the next 45 minutes. When she wanted to work on my other foot or hand, she would tap brusquely on that part. Not the relaxing experience I was hoping for. I was visiting my friend Leann last week in Novato and we decided to treat ourselves to a little pampering. We found this place on Yelp and thought we'd give it a try since Leann had never been there. We could not be more please with our choice! The ladies there did a great job with our mani/pedis and Thuy did an excellent job waxing my eyebrows. The salon had a very relaxing atmosphere with soft music playing, the TV was on mute w/ subtitles, and they had a pretty good selection of magazines from what I can remember. I actually felt like I was at a mini day spa! My favorite part was when they surprised us with an exfoliating foot scrub and hot stone foot massage during our pedicure! And get this, they do that for all their pedicures! I wish I lived closer so I could make this my regular go-to nail salon. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a clean salon and a relaxing environment. read more

Went there with my nieces for a mani/pedi after having a great experience first time around and this time was horrible. We made apt.s and sat in spa chairs while person after person was taken in between us. My niece (8) sat soaking her feet for 30 min before they started her HANDS! Then they rotated between us doing partial jobs while starting walk-ins and finished them while we sat and waited. I never ever got my hands done because they were finishing the walk-ins who decided to get mani's added to their unscheduled pedi's. So much for a fun spa day!!! Won't EVER go back again. read more
