I'm beyond disappointed with my recent experience at the Beauty Supply Warehouse on Decatur. I spent TWO hours carefully selecting the perfect wig--only for it to be sold to someone else. The store's system is seriously flawed. To prevent theft, they take wigs to the front once a customer selects one, but there's no process to reserve or tag them. So, someone else can simply lie and claim it's theirs, and the staff will just hand it over with no questions asked. That's exactly what happened. Someone took my wig--the last of its kind, a style that's no longer made--and the cashier just sold it to them. There was no accountability, no way to prove it wasn't theirs, and no real effort made to make it right. I left angry, frustrated, and feeling like my time and effort didn't matter. If you're going to implement theft prevention tactics, make sure they don't come at the cost of honest customers' experiences. This was not just a missed purchase--it was a complete waste of my time and energy for a product I'll never be able to replace. I will be ordering online from here on out. Do better. read more

This place is amazing!! It has everything you can think of! I was there for a conference, but, my daughter told me to make sure I visited! It was Hair Heaven!!! The prices were for every budget! You can even try a few on, there is a limit. I was able to find several colors and styles to leave there with. The service was awesome! The young lady that helped me made my day, my trip!! Mom & Daughter here who recently came in to purchase some wigs for my Mom. Not sure of the sales ladies's name, but she wore gray dreadlocks and was so sweet to us. She was very knowledgeable and personable when helping us with our wig selection.. it's not easy to find customer service these days that are so helpful. They closed 5 minutes early. I really needed something from that store TONIGHT and I had to work so I was in a huge rush to get off work and go get it. I tried calling the store about 30 minutes before closing to make sure the close time was going to be at 8pm and they ignored the calls. I got off and showed up at the store 3 minutes before closing only to be turned away by the 5 employees that were standing around doing nothing. Hours need to be changed. It says they close EVERY DAY AT 8pm it's Sunday at 6:45pm and they're closed. Annoying af. Also last time I came here I literally left because there was 4 employees up front talking / dancing and only one of them was ringing people up. I've shopped here several times for specialty blonde hair toner & Wig supplies because they always have them in stock & at an excellent price. (Fraction compared to elsewhere) Lots of less popular make up brands and hair accessories for super cheap. It wasn't busy at all this morning, parking right up front and there were a couple of associates in the isles that greeted me & asked if I needed help. The cashier was nice & efficient. I saw a sign at the register saying they now accept card-less payments (I'm guessing Apple Pay) which is convenient. They always ask for ID if using cards to pay & a sign at the front door states anyone with a bag must leave it at the door which indicates they've had enough crime here to be hyper cautious. Only 3 stars because; -Even though they carry my toner at a great price, they only have that one brand of toner. -Some of their stock has the look that it's really old & I'm guessing a lot of items have probably sat on the shelves for many years. -They do not carry a lot of blonde hair which is disappointing but I have purchased a blonde front lace wig here in the past and at a great price. You must purchase a cap if trying them on in-store, which is typical. -It's a run down area (gang tags spray painted on signs out front & crummy stores in the same strip mall are too cheap to even fix their broken signs). -It's an old building, definitely needs updated inside and out and the parking lot could use refinishing to fix all the bumps and potholes. I'll still come back for hair dye and wig supplies, especially since the alternative is Sally's which has rude & lazy employees and is way over priced for a limited stock. read more

Everything's relative. My five-star rating is not for the location, which could be better maintained by the employees. It's a better area than the North Las Vegas BSW location, but this strip mall is also suprisingly run down for the area. The people playing at the golf course across the street must dread the view of this place. Personally, I'm amused by any place that has a church and a bar right next door to each other. And BSW is right next door to them, too. The five stars is for the range of salon and drugstore cosmetics and beauty proucts the store carries. If they don't have it here, it may not exist anymore. It wouldn't surprise me if somehow, some of the products they *do* have don't exist anymore. I just bought a conditioner here that I haven't even seen since 1984. And I got like a quart of it for $4.50. Ignore the unpacked boxes that somehow get left in the aisles during business hours. Ignore the floors that could use a little more polish and the displays that could be a little neater. Ignore the harsh neon lighting. The prices and selection of products are more than worth it. Go to BSW and prepare to be almost overwhelmed by the options. read more

It's frustrating when there's 7 people working but only one person working the register and the others are standing around. No the best location. Definitely will not return and I don't suggest it. They were to busy waiting to close and counting the clock, while there's a line full of people. I decided to braid my hair but ran out of hair I happen to have from California. Reading the reviews about the huge selections if hair I made my way across town to come check it out. I didn't have problems with dirty looks from the locals around there or anyone panhandling like others have had. The workers greeted me as soon as I walked in and were there for my every need. Unfortunately I was very disappoint to see that this really wasn't a warehouse as I expected. They seem to have more wigs than anything. Aisle were very bare and they had a lot of old , dirty looking products on the shelf. As for braiding hair, the deletion was ok. They didn't sell the 27 Rastafari hair I needed and suggested I go to some other place that might have the brand. I don't live in the area of either store so I figured I can get a different brand around the same color. Big mistake. Luckily I was smart enough to get two different brands of hair cause one of them was so horrible i could even use it. I was able to pick up a new nail brisk for $1 but as far as that selection goes, it too is bare. Just a little stand by the line with things you can buy at any other local store. Not sure if I would come to this store. I'm better off going to Sally's or picking up hair back in California. read more

This is not the prettiest store, nor is it located in the nicest part of town. But if you need anything hair-related, especially ethnic hair care products, wigs, extensions, or anything else, this is the place to go. There is an overwhelming selection, aisles and aisles of anything you could think of to maintain your hair. Unfortunately, not all of the aisles are clearly marked, so you may find yourself wandering aimlessly through the maze of products until you find what you need. The only downside to the Beauty Supply Warehouse, aside from aesthetics, is that finding assistance can be a bit tricky, and customer service isn't always the greatest. Employees are required to assist you with any of the hair extensions (weaves, wigs, ponytails). Sometimes, there is a bit of a wait when trying to get someone to help you, especially if it is busy. However, no one is pushy and they don't try to up-sell you on anything. Hair is not refundable or exchangeable, so make sure you're 100% sure about your purchase before checking out. They accept debt and credit cards, which makes things easy, too. read more

I'm not sure what happened to the other woman that used to work here but ever since she left the service has been absolutely terrible. I stood in line waiting for the lady at the register to finish her txt message before she waved me on over. She clearly was distracted because she rang up my items wrong (I had a feeling something was off so I looked at my receipt before walking out). Andrea Hatch was very knowledgeable and super helpful, even though I am not of color she was able to find something that worked for me. Andrea even went through all the trouble to make phone calls to their four other locations and helped me find another option. I will be shopping here in the future for braiding hair, and other products you can't get at normal beauty supply stores. I think Beauty Supply Warehouse is trying to convey that they are a large store with a large selection. False! This warehouse is large in size only. Now to be completely honest, I've never cone to this store looking for anything except wigs and braiding or weaving hair. When it comes to braiding hair their selection is pitiful. I haven't been able to find ombrè OR two tone hair here. If your searching for a 1b, 2, 30 or something plain like that, then sure, give them a try. They even have the nerve to have neon orange & bright green but no kanekalon ombrè or even a dark blue or purple. Customer service is a whole other issue. At 12 in the afternoon on a Tuesday they seem to be under-staffed. I wasn't acknowledged by any of the 3 employees I saw and there were at least 4 different people waiting to be helped to look at wigs are weaving hair. I used to frequent this place for braiding hair but in the age of the internet and Amazon, I can honestly say that I probably won't cone here again. read more

I came in today looking for a wig. I've never wore a wig before so I was pretty clueless. From the moment I walked up to the wig counter, Kenya (who recently transferred from another store) was attentive, super kind, professional, and knew her stuff. I really didn't have to ask any questions... She was a wealth of knowledge and told me everything I needed to know, which helped me pick out the perfect wigs. Even when she had to assist other customers, she kept checking on me... This store is not near home but I make a day of it if I drive there. I've picked up some extensions for a black tie gala I was attending-- $50 a pack! I also like to play around with different fun wigs too. I never have issues with customer service because I'm usually there on a weekday and there's maybe 7 people walking around in there. I NEVER buy hair products from there since they don't have any of the brands I use. I prefer going to Ulta or Sally's. Plus, there's something not right about my hair product covered in a thick layer of DUST. Everyone is right--its not in the best part of town and people know right away if you are from around there. I get looks and stares too--which I never understand why. I'm black like you, damnit! After going to California and visiting a similar store I'm grateful for this one. The one in Cali has a 3 wig try on minimum, makes you purchase your own "try on" wig cap for $1--oh wait, you get the dollar back if you buy a wig AND there's no counter so an employee stands there and stares at you while you try on wigs in the isle. So I DO appreciate BSW because it could be worse. Overall--I do like this place. Prices are good to me, and they can rack up if you get hair happy. read more

Thoroughly Unimpressed. This place just felt dirty, for lack of a better word. From the clientele to the staff to the entire state of the store. In the short time that i was there we were never greeted or even offered help by any of the employees and its no wonder with all the fighting they were doing among themselves and even with the other customers. All you hear when you walk in are staff members hollering at each other, talking bad about the "ratchet" customers they have in there and just complaining in general about everything. Then you see customers being so rude to the staff it was honestly just a terrible store. My hairdresser recommended it and I went to just see what they had, not thinking that I would end up so overwhelmed by the selections that I left with nothing. I went back a few weeks later after doing some research and found the hair I wanted. It's not in the best location so I'm not expecting top service, but upon entering the store, the music was blasting and about five associates were just standing behind the counter. All throughout the store there are wrong prices or no prices at all for the products that are being sold. I wanted to buy a product that said it was 7.59. The supervisor argued with me,talked down to me and ignored my issue about the wrong price of the product. The customer service was horrible. And the prices are misleading. The selection of extensions and wigs here is mind boggling. The perimeter of the store is all counters where you have to get a clerk to help you. The center is filled with aisles of product and lesser expensive items. The store is located in a run-down strip mall with a lot of people hanging around the church that's in one of the neighboring stores. I caught a little attitude from some of the other customers. There was a vibe of "You-Ain't-From-Around-Here" but the clerks were generally nice and helpful. I've been here a few times and will continue to come back for the selection and the reasonable prices. read more

This beauty supply "warehouse" is so disappointing. It is large in size but has a low supply of merchandise. For the size of the store, there aren't hardly any special products. Same old stuff, just spaced out on the huge shelves. They are always out of something and there are so many people that work there, yet hardly any help available. If your primary customer base are black people have people there that are knowledgeable on black hair! Half of these ppl have no clue and really shouldn't be working there. You can come here for hair and beauty accessories but beware when coming to buy hair. And be prepared to wait a while in line! So irritating. So my wife and I came to this location looking for a wig, in which she has never owned one so it was a new experience for the both of us. From the reviews that this place has (2.5 stars) I can see why it gets reviews so low by some of the employees there. Kenya who was helping my wife out, was very knowledgeable, attentive, and very professional. As we were looking around, Kenya helped other customers while coming back to us to see if there was something we needed (there were other groups of people around the counters who looked like they needed help, while one employee ignored them all and just kept trying on wigs as if she was shopping herself). It was definitely a great experience in which I needed to let the manager know, who was off for the day. I told the elder lady at the register who was also pleasant, to let the manager know about our great customer experience with Kenya. She said the best way is to write a yelp review because the people at the corporate level would see it also. I feel that employees like Kenya should get the recognition, rewards, and compensation they deserve. She also suggested other items in the store that would help w/ our wig journey. I like the store, Love the employees, they're always sweet and helpful. However! The "owner" should be ASHAMED of himself. You literally couldn't tell the difference from being outside and inside the store. It had to be at least 100+ degrees in that store. Literally every customer in the store was rushing to get out because of the heat. I felt SO bad for the ladies working there, if they wanted to work in the heat they'd be construction workers. 5 star employees, 0 starts to whoever the owner is for running an ACTUAL sweat shop.
