On the way to Baltimore, we stopped in Richmond to meet up with one of my husband's friends. We arrived pretty late so we struck out at the two places he wanted to take us. We ended up going to Beauvine Burger Concept and we were very pleased with it! We got there after 9 p.m. (I think) but the place was still packed! Maybe it's because they're open really late (they're open until 2am!) We ordered fries and burgers and my son and I also got milkshakes. Everything was delicious! I really liked the size of the burger and I especially loved the milkshake because it wasn't too thick so I could easily sip it through the straw. I met a friend here after work one night because I was craving a burger. Their kitchen stays open pretty late. If I remember correctly, their kitchen stays open until 2300 or 2330, which was nice. They have a lot of tables and chairs along bar seating. The bartenders that waited on us were polite, but it did take them forever to come back and check on me. I was going to order another drink, but because it took them quite a bit of time to get back to me, I ended up not forgoing the extra drink. I ordered a Bellytimber burger with a side of onion rings and a Beauvine's mule with raspberry flavor. My friend had ordered wings with a Modelo. A trip to Cary Street one afternoon, lead us to needing some lunch before we started our drive back to Hampton Roads. I did a quick Yelp search and we came across Beauvine Burger Concept. We loved what we saw. There was parking on the street, and easy to navigate. When we walked in we were seated right away. The booth was a tiny tight, but we managed. I took a look around and really enjoyed the vibes. We took a look at the menu and ordered pretty quick. I opted for a wedge salad. It was very fresh and had great flavor. The dressing was great as well. The wedge salad came with pickled red onions, tomatoes, fresh herbs, and topped with a chive bleu cheese dressing. I ordered what i felt was a good classic burger for the first time trying them out. I ordered the Beauvine Burger. The burger came with American cheese, house pickles, sliced red onion, tomato, bibb lettuce, beau sauce. The sauce was a good match. Be sure to order your burger with no pink if you prefer that, otherwise it will come with a little pink center. I think it states it on the menu. Everyone loved their food. So much so that we will definitely be returning! Our waitress was perfect. She held a little conversation here and there, and seemed to be knowledgeable on their menu. Beauvine has been around for a while. They are pretty well established in the community. They are open just about everyday of the year, and have events here and there. I came on a Saturday night and was surprised with how packed it was. I was initially at the bar before going to my table; they were accommodating with moving our stuff from the bar to table. Visited Beauvine for the first time with my VCU student for his bday! We strolled in at midnight to have a late bite as he turned a year older. This hidden gem nestled in VCU territory was open late, with dim great gatsby feel and great tunes. We were immediately greeted and sat. My son had been there so he walked us thru the menu while ranting about the duck fat truffle fries. I don't often frequent burger places due to not eating beef but this surprising gem carried the freshest most juicy turkey burger I've ever had. The menu has several specialty burgers to choose from, however we all did the build your own which in my opinion is the way to go. The milkshakes seemed to be very popular due to the amount of to go orders I watched go out. I did try the fresh ginger ale made with fresh ginger lime and cane. A true winner. Beauvine was a great surprise and definitely worth a stop if you're visiting or passing through Richmond. For the price, it's fairly cheap considering the quality--especially for a burger spot. I tried the Gouda mac and cheese balls, which were rich, smooth, and had a pleasantly peppery bite. Just know everything leans heavy and indulgent, so be ready for richness. They do add a carry-out fee that covers gratuity, which is helpful to know ahead of time. The burger was the highlight: pimento cheese, onion mayo, and a brioche bun. The bun was buttery and soft, and the pimento cheese had a great jalapeño flavor--nothing too spicy, so don't worry if heat isn't your thing. Overall, the flavor was delicious, but the components are all rich, and there wasn't much acidity or freshness to cut through it. Nice environment , tons of buzz. Parking: Street parking. It is located on a main street so there is more space & parking. Seating: it is pretty crowded inside. It is quite tight and you will not be able to fit a high chair (not quite sure if they even have high chairs). The music was also very loud, it was hard for our table, of 6, to hear each person speak. The seating and noise was probably the only negative thing I experienced here. It's also more like a bar feel than a cozy restaurant. After a certain time, they dim the lights, a lot, and give a small candle to each table. It was quite dark with just a small candle. Had a most fantastic burger here. The Joe beef was rich, flavorful, and juicy. Everything a burger should be! The sweet potato waffle fries were thin and crispy. The duck fat fries were delicious, with just the right amount of fry and salt. The raspberry soda was a great balance of tartness and refreshing and was not too sweet. The wings were good as well. Service was great, efficient, and attentive. The interior is very welcoming. Just short of five stars because I would say the tables are a little sticky though. Only been here twice over the past couple of years but reminded again how I need to come more often: Best burgers in town! They don't take reservations so I think I'm always worried there will be a huge wait but if you come early then u don't have to worry much. Vibe is rustic metro? Cozy lighting at night with wood floors and table tops and some brick on one wall but a hopping bar with big city sophistication and some retro adult milkshakes. This time around I ordered the Irish au revoir which is a maple salted caramel shake with some Tullamore Irish whiskey and I was only planning to have a few sips and give the rest to my family so I could save calories for the soon to come burger but it was so good I drank over half before I finally made a sorrowful push away and asked my family to save me from myself. My husband ordered the Christmas in New York, which was also pretty amazing. I could've easily had one of those myself. Kind of a different play on a paper plane with the lemon in there, but the addition of the pinot Noir float and the cinnamon, simple syrup, set it apart from the classic paper plane. My son got the housemade eggnog which was good, but I thought my milkshake and Christmas in NY were way more satisfying. . For entrées, we got the De leon,The Joe beef and the steak frites burgers. We all loved our selections. My favorite was the Joe beef and the De Leon. They were all perfectly cooked, juicy and so flavorful. We also got onion rings and fries with truffle Parmesan and loved those as well. Parking is not too bad but you might have to walk some if it's busy. And again I recommend coming early if you don't wanna wait too long for a table. They also have happy hour from 4 to 6 PM. I think Monday through Thursday. Service was friendly and mostly quick. We stopped in on a Friday evening, and I have to say the one hour wait was worth it! I ordered the Belle Ringer burger, which features goat cheese, pickled red onion, spring greens, and tomato jam. If you want your meal to be hot and fresh when it gets served to you, do not order any appetizers. It took them nearly an hour to get our meals to our party of four. We had to ask for a manager to come and speak to us about why our food was taking so long to arrive. Customers around us had already come and gone. She said that the reason our food was taking so long was because we ordered an appetizer and they couldn't start the burgers until they sent them out. Remember that they are only making burgers. Very easy menu items to make. When the burgers finally did come, they were all cold, even the fries. The biggest stand out though was that there was never one apology from any member of the staff. This is one of my intern's favorite spots in RVA. I came once years ago for their boozy hot cocoa during winter, I think it was COVID time and I remember liking their outdoor patio. I hadn't been back in a long time and decided to revisit with some friends for lunch. We were seated pretty quickly and it was pretty packed. We were near the front at a high top table. I love that you get to choose between different types of patties and breads. This is a great spot for gluten free or vegetarian friends. I ordered the Belle Ringer with a beef patty and brioche bun. You order fries and sides separately here. We really adored their waffle sweet potato fries. I also really enjoyed my burger. My friends enjoyed their burgers too. Since it was busy, it took a little to order. We were a group of three. We spent about an hour at the restaurant which wasn't bad for us. They have a women and men's restroom. In the women's restroom there is only one stall. There is free parking out front on Cary st. Our server was really sweet and the food was good. We live an hour away from Richmond but they made the drive out after I had it a month ago and they agree it beats anything in Charlottesville where we live and so far is the best burger in Richmond we've found. I was in RVA last night and found myself in the mood for a burger. I repeated delivery ordering the Belle ringer (I think) with goat cheese, arugula, pickled red onion, tomato jam. It was so good last time and usually I try to branch out but was really feeling this again! I noticed this time how well the burger was cooked - juicy and pink in the middle but with an awesome crunchy crisp on the outside. I did try to branch out for the review and tried the smoked Gouda macaroni arancini. This is an interesting twist on traditional arancini that is traditionally filled with risotto. I think the flavor was great, I could totally taste the Gouda, I could've used a little more creaminess from the Mac since it was sort of just pasta with oil. I think this is likely due to what happens when it gets fried. Again though, the taste was great so I'd give it an 8/10. Maybe serving with marinara or even some interesting ranch would help? Overall, the burgers are consistently amazing and my family and friends have been impressed with the quality, flavor and the consistency in everything we've tried from their menu. This time it was a more carefully planned visit. I Googled for 'Best burgers in Richmond' and this came highly recommended. Having been here once before, I figured it was a strong contender. The place isn't snazzy but doesn't need to be. I took a seat at the bar and my server was happy to answer questions. One burger and shake, coming up! I went for the steak frites, fries, and a shake (I studiously avoided asking how many calories I was consuming). All were excellent. Had lunch here during my Richmond trip. The burgers are pretty good! I got the Lafayette burger. It came with Brie cheese, Cabernet onions, arugula, tomatoes and an apricot mustard. I didnt really taste the Brie but the Cabernet onions were delicious. The burger patty itself was good, well seasoned and not dry (although it was more medium than medium rare in my opinion). I also got to try the pimento duck fat fries. Fries were nice and crispy but the pimento cheese wasn't what I was expecting (it was more like a melted cheese glob on top). The herbed goat cheese and aoli mixed so well together and the shake had a strong, delicious creamy flavor.
