The T-Room is where it's at! My mom, having grown up in Lynchburg, was so excited to try the Richmond location. It's your classic counter space and everyone that works there is so funny & friendly. Mom insisted we had to get the classic hot dogs & cheesy Western & they were really delicious! She wanted to buy one of their mugs and since it was around Mother's Day, they wrapped it up in a nice bag for her. Top notch customer service!

This place is just alright. I went sober which might've been my problem, I sense it might be a drunk college kid type of vibe. I wasn't expecting a burger to be $10 for a little place like this, (considering the size was about the same as a cookout burger), but it was good and the hospitality of the staff honestly might be the reason I ranked it higher. The food wasn't my favorite, but those women behind the counter are absolute angels and are a reason enough to be back. I do like hotdogs ... maybe I should try again and just get a hotdog.

I went in on a Friday afternoon to see what all the fuss was about with this Cheesy Western and their chili dog. Well, let me tell you, the Cheesy Western was to die for and the perfect remedy for a previous night of copius inbibememt. I got the Katz Dog with chili, which was good enough to make you wanna kiss your sister on the mouth and smack your mamma on the backside. Plus, a purchase of a Katz Dog resulted in a donation to the Special Olympics, which is a cause near and dear to my heart. The staff there were fresh and friendly like a young Bill Clinton ( I stole that line from a friend). The ambiance reminded me of an old school diner, nostalgic and reminiscent of a peaceful time in my childhood when we all could get along regardless of where we came from, and you could take differences and polictics out of the equation and just have a good meal and conversation. If you happen to come across a Texas Inn during your travels, do yourself and your soul a favor and come on it. You'll leave the better for it.

I was looking for someplace to eat breakfast and stumbled upon this restaurant which looked fun from the outside, so I stopped in. The service was great, I was immediately greeted upon entering. I opted for bacon, egg and cheese on a biscuit with a side of potatoes and coffee. The food came out very quickly. The sandwich was great, nice and cheesy on a buttery biscuit. The potatoes were disappointing, they were soggy, greasy and lacked flavor. This is a great diner type place to grab a quick and inexpensive meal.

Texas Inn is a good place to stop for a quick burger, dog, or similar fare. The burgers are good, not outstanding. The dogs are good, the chili on them is thick and suits the dogs well. (It's hot dog chili not just from a pot of what some places would bowl up. Which is a plus.) Onion rings are not good..... cooked at a low temp, steaming the onions inside instead of cooking them so they pull out on first bite. If you like empty fried breading, this is a good bet for you! When we visited in December it was very cold inside. Even the wait staff was wearing hats and hoodies. Parking is very limited but this is located in Devil's Triangle so that is to be expected. Nothing poor here, nothing outstanding. Worth a stop if in the area.

Super friendly staff and lovely community ! It feels just like an old diner and I loved it. Wish they had more vegetarian friendly options - but I didn't go for me. My friend told me the food was absolutely amazing. I just had some fries which were good. The sweet tea is the best I've found in the DMV area thus far.

A friend and I stopped into the new Richmond location of Texas Inn after First Friday at the museums nearby. We were looking for a chill, no-frills, affordable spot, and Texas Inn delivered! I ordered a ton of food and it was only roughly $25. Really not bad at all. Oh, and they have on-site parking, which is lovely. We sat at a table across from the bar stools and were quickly greeted and served. We both ordered fountain sodas to start, and, after much debate, we decided on hot dogs, though I definitely need to go back and try their cheeseburgers. Another patron very strongly recommended the cheesy western! Our food was ready in maybe two minutes - tops. My hot dog was good, I ordered it with cheese and it came with a single slice of unmelted cheese, which was surprising as I was expecting more of a sauce. It was good regardless. I also ordered sides of cole slaw and macaroni salad. My friend suggested they add celery seed to the mac salad to elevate it. She also ordered their fries and said she enjoyed them. For dessert, I ordered the dreamsicle shake to go. Since I wasn't drinking it immediately, our server kindly separated the soda and ice cream into separate containers. The chocolate pie looked delightful as well, so that's on my to-try list too. I wouldn't hesitate to return for a burger or dog in the future.

I was not expecting the food to be good, as everyone kept telling me that this is the place needs to go when I'm drunk. we came with family for lunch. the space is not big , have some bar seats and limited small tables around. some outdoor tables but it's hot in the summer. we found our own seats but was not offered menu when I was trying to figure out what each burger is like. I had the HarrisonBurger which considered the #1 in the contest , but it's just a patty with some chili , it's small and very messy to eat. it's small enough that you might need two to get full. in my party one ordered the hotdog which is purposely dye red and topped with chili, I heard they didn't enjoy it either. the menu has some really racist/homophobic jokes. but I guess you can get away with it in the south. sorry for the ignorance not knowing the history of this brand that's almost 80 years. but having been living in Texas, this is nothing Texas would offer.

Very kind people! Likely only ~16 seats in the joint but fun to sit at the old school bar. People were great with my three little kids! Fun and casual environment. Try the chili!

The myth, the legend, the CHEESY WESTERN, the burger that put them on the map.

So whatcha havin'? What began as a modest 10-seat diner in Lynchburg, VA is now a fast food staple go-to in downtown Harrisonburg and now they've added their fourth location in the museum district of Richmond! This ain't fancy, but it's fun, friendly and filling, and all for a reasonable price. Every time I have been at a Texas Inn I have been greeted well and treated even better. The service is always "happy to see you, glad you're here" and even in the wee hours of the night, at least in Harrisonburg, they manage to keep their smiles and sense of humor. It's a fun vibe and based on what I'm sure they see every night in the land of JMU students who have imbibed maybe a wee bit too much, they're there to take care of you. The menu is simple, burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches. Their legendary must-have is their "Cheesy Western," a smash burger with cheese, a fried egg and their crack-like relish. Their menu says they served nearly 400,000 of them in 2023. And they only had three locations! With a side of fries you're looking at about $13 but feel free to upgrade to some onion rings, chili, or some homemade potato or macaroni salad. And save room for their surprisingly high-quality sweets, like homemade pies and ice cream floats! They also have all-day breakfast choices like omelets and egg sandwiches, as well as more comfort sides like fried apples, grits, and everyone's military favorite, the S.O.S (or in a more family friendly way of saying it- sausage or chipped beef gravy on a biscuit or toast.) If you know you know. The atmosphere is no frills with some funny signage and some quite popular swag (mugs, t-shirts) featuring their logo and the legendary waitress from their Lynchburg location. About half a dozen tables and about ten counter seats, so not the biggest place in the world either, but the vibe is always fun and family friendly. Don't know what else to say except if you've been to one, you'll feel right at home, and if you haven't, you'll feel like a regular the first time you dine here. The Texas Inn - no rooms at this inn, but save room for some fun and friendly food choices that will have you coming back over and over again. Give me two cheesies, all the way!

Again all lukewarm. The Timberwolf burger had maybe two jalapeño's on it and the onions were burnt. The regular burgers and kids are the same size. The Salad that comes with the burgers was good. It's just greens but it has a nice dressing! Their fresh cut fries were amazing. I had those along with their house made manuka honey mustard which was also really good! While I had trouble with the burgers, I'd try this place again to give it another chance! It's a friendly atmosphere with good music, and it is fairly priced!
