There are clearly people living at this campground, and the number of broken-down vehicles and the amount of trash were hard to ignore. Our picnic table was wobbly and looked like it could collapse at any moment. The sites were dirty and poorly maintained. The tent sites along the creek were so overgrown with vegetation that it felt like you were sitting next to a swamp rather than a creek. To make matters worse, when we tried to dump our RV tank on the morning of our departure, we discovered that management had to unlock the dump station, which obviously doesn't work for anyone leaving early. This is, without question, the worst campground we've ever stayed at. Thankfully, it was only for one night while we were passing through.

We are here in September and the reservoir is severely drawn down so water activities are pretty much out of the question. As others noted, it gets really hot in the summer so air conditioning makes it MUCH more comfortable. Interesting wildlife in the area-deer, ground squirrels, Jack rabbits, and coyotes. Limited hiking options near the park. All that being said, price is reasonable. It's very quiet. And bonus, you can see the stars.

My dog has stickers & pokies all over him because there isn't normal grass ANYWHERE. My family & I showed up in sandals & had slivers/stickers all in our sandals. Very painful. Their website photos are either edited or were taken a long time ago because this place looks nothing like it did on the website. If you're looking for a great family camping spot, this is NOT a good one.

Each campsite comes with a small fire pit, a picnic table, a trash can, a parking space for 2 cars, and a good size camp site. There are water spickets nearby the campsites. There are also flush toilets, automatic water sinks, automatic paper towel dispensers; all of which are well maintained. There are pay showers, if you wish to utilize being clean (50 cents for 4 minutes). Check the web site for all details of the campground. There is also a camp host in case of any emergencies or rowdy campers. Actually, there was one campsite that blared some music past 10pm (noise curfew) for an hour, which I went over there and ask him to turn it down (which he obliged). I will say that many of the campers were more on the strange side (drifters, displaced individuals, and the likes), all which seemed harmless. It seemed that 85% of the campers that were there, all had a dog or two. The Applegate River is about a quarter mile away. My family enjoyed playing in the river twice while we were camping here. Cantrall-Buckley County Park is literally across the street from the campground. And of course, our purpose for camping here was to visit Applegate Christian Fellowship with Pastor Jon Courson (located about 1 mile away). Be aware of speed traps coming into the valley here. There are occasionally police officers stationed along this route.

The campground felt more like parking along a dirt road than an actual campground. There was frequent vehicle traffic through the area at different times of day and night, so it did not feel quiet or restful. The bathrooms were very poorly maintained, extremely small, and uncomfortable to use. The shower stalls also did not seem properly cleaned or maintained. If you are only camping, I do not think it is worth the price. There also did not seem to be basic camper amenities. I did not find a communal kitchen, and even getting drinking water was inconvenient. The water fountains were difficult to use. Overall, the property felt neglected and under-maintained. The pool and soaking areas were also disappointing. The pools looked grimy, and the "silence" signs were not respected during my stay. Every time I used the hot pool area, people were talking loudly. The dry sauna was fine, but not special enough to justify coming here; it felt similar to a basic gym sauna. The wet sauna was also not worth the trip by itself. I also had concerns about safety and management. On one very hot day, a dog was left tied outside near a tent for a long period while barking, and other campers had to help care for it. I did not see management respond, even though staff appeared to be driving around the property. On the morning I left, another guest behaved aggressively toward me near my van, which made me feel unsafe. The front desk seemed mainly focused on payment and access control, not on guest comfort, cleanliness, or safety. As a non-white guest, I also felt uncomfortable and out of place here, and I did not feel that management was attentive enough to create a safe environment. This place may appeal to some locals or repeat visitors, but based on my experience, it was dirty, poorly maintained, uncomfortable, and not worth the price. I would not return and would strongly recommend checking the property carefully before booking online. DEFINITELY NOT FAMILY-FRIENDLY.

As much as I have been to deeply healing and naturally geothermic hot springs, I still enjoy a visit to Jackson Wellsprings every month or so. I live remotely and they offer a Tuesday night dance/soak experience that is really quite lovely. Sometimes the DJs are actually bad and I don't do the dance, I'll listen for about 20 mins before paying to enter. Sometimes the DJs are litty. The facilities are clearly 60+ years old and maintained to the absolute bare minimum, or so it appears. It doesn't seem like much deep cleaning/renovation goes on with bleach or other cleaning probably due to some eco friendly initiative to justify saving money and the planet all at once, yet the human experience is degraded. Standards differ in everyone. Sauna is nice. Steam room is nice. Big pool is nice and cool. Hot tub is often filled and relatively hot. Granted for the price of $15/4 hour session... it's now dependent on your fear of humans and the potential for their dirty to impact your experience. I'm a pretty reasonable person and still have desired standards to be met, hence this review and still attending despite a more degraded facility than one would want from a place designed for healing.

They took out a cancellation fee of $ 17.10 when I contacted them to issue the full refund I got the run around telling me only the owner could issue it. It now has been many days and no refund. This is very poor business practice and they should not be able to get away with this. I am a retired veteran and they should be ashamed of themselves.

They have 50 & 30 amp sites, but on riverside is 30amp only. WiFi is generally good, but again we were really the only ones there. They do have some small cabin rentals. Didn't see or use any public bathrooms or showers, but the do have 1 washer & dryer. The General Store is pretty cool and has a Deli, but if you're staying more than a day, better bring your own food. Closest town with provisions is Yreka. There is no cell signal but we went there for peace & quiet and got exactly that. It was super great. Fished the river, saw turkey, deer, river otters, etc. Go here to relax and enjoy the Klamath River. Staff is really friendly and helpful.

It looks like a much smaller lake then it is, but once you start driving around it you find hidden coves and fingers that suddenly appear out of nowhere. Each turn of a corner brings a new surprise - a water slide for the kiddies, long boat ramps with a place to tie up your boat, beautiful trees that are sure to fill with leaves and blossom into beauty in the summer. There's camp sites and washrooms - a playground for the children too. And, of course, there's the water sports - boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, fishing. If all this isn't enough, it's really pretty too. Truly, how could anyone not love something this beautiful?
