Pro Tip: buy a punch card with 3 lift tickets at Costco or buy a discounted ticket on Mt Ashland website the day you go. Southern Oregon's only ski/snowboard spot is a decent little spot to play in the snow and learn how to ski/snowboard. The local saying is "if you can learn to ride Mt Ashland, you can ride any mountain". Here's why: This little mountain is steeper than many resorts I've been too. The climate and weather can be a bit tricky at times, resulting in hard, packed snow and considerably less powder than many other resorts. I'm not sure but I don't think they have any snow maker/snow blowers here AT ALL. The main runs are groomed but unless there's fresh powder be prepared for more ice-like trails. Over the years, they've really improved their terrain parks with rails, hips, and other jumps. The lodge was recently added on to as well. The staff are always friendly and helpful which earns an extra star. Aside from weather/location conditions it's a convenient place to enjoy the day in the snow. It is worth noting that the only other option is to drive an extra hour south to Mt Shasta, where there are snow blowers, much more consistent powder and less steep terrain. But for a quick day trip Mt Ashland does the job.

The views from this place are amazing! You can see Mts. Shasta and McLoughlan!! There is WiFi in the lodge. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Ski lessons are available and super reasonably priced! I really thought I would just try skiing once this year but I ended up loving it. I rented the equipment the first time. The rental skis and boots were very well maintained. The first time I ordered the wrong size but it was quickly remedied. I ended the season having gone several (6) more times and the rentals were always wonderful. It's as if the staff lives to talk about skiing and hear about your runs. They are genuinely excited to have guests and want you to feel appreciated. The locals are a great bunch of folks who love their mountain; and now I am one of them. There are 4 lifts, several blue squares, black diamonds and ONE green run. Their motto is "It's steeper here." They say if you learn to ski here that you can ski anywhere! Well, lucky me!!!!! The ski patrol are super cool and professional. The lift operators are a hoot (Carl-I'm talking about you, Primo!) and the lodge staff are very helpful (Bouie got me in the dance contest!) Dr. Snowe recommends skiing for a healthy body and mind! (Special thanks to that guy!) And a fun time was had by all‼

What a gorgeous drive to the top !! No snow just green beauty everywhere and amazing views . I would recommend driving there if you haven't been just to take in the view of Mt Shasta

I got to ski. My instructor was nice. Everything was kind of expensive except for food.

She offers a wide variety of choices accommodating to your dietary needs, while creating a flavorful and mouthwatering start to your day. And the rooms are delightful (and not under renovation), tastefully decorated, beds are comfy and the rooms are clean. My husband and I stayed there for one week and when the original room we booked was not big enough for us, Julie was most accommodating finding us another room that would suit our needs. The property is lovely and we were fortunate enough to experience a backyard concert by Hattie Craven on our last night there. It was a magical experience to sit outside with music in an enchanted forest as the setting. The owners, Julie & Dan were so helpful with any needs we had and so hospitable...felt like we stepped back in time when customer service really meant taking care of your customers every needs...we couldn't have asked for a more wonderful stay...and to top it off, it was my husband's birthday and when we got back from his birthday dinner, Julie had baked a homemade cake for us...how sweet is that! If we ever return, this is where we will stay. The personable service, friendliness of not only Julie & Dan, but any staff member was such a joy. If you really want an experience of a lifetime, this is the place to stay. PS - if you want the best homemade granola you'll ever taste, Julie's is the BEST!!! Don't leave without trying it:) PSS - the chipped paint never interfered in our stay:)

They also host periodic concerts on their side lawn which we were lucky enough to experience and it was a great community event. Hope to return to the Shasta Area and we would not consider staying anyplace else.!!
