I'm still a fan of supporting local culinary training schools, like Elevation. But it is also fair…read moreto say that since Elevation has raised their dinner prices in the last 18 months from $19 to $21 to $23 and now to $30, one might fairly expect more for both food quality and service at that price than was delivered in our last two experiences here. Last term we had under seasoned food on some dishes, served undercooked on others, and warm instead of hot on still others. Elevation has now also changed their lunch service to a la carte ordering from the small lunch menu. A nice change but ordering that way with shared small plate to start, two just so-so entrees and two soft beverages brought my friend's and my lunch tab above $40. Service for this meal, while friendly, was lackluster and the food just OK. I realize this is a teaching school, so is CIA in Hyde Park and the SF culinary academy and the myriad of other schools, from big names to community college based where I've enjoyed meals over the years. I expect neither food nor service to be perfect at culinary school dining rooms and that is part of the fun, being guinea pigs for the students. But now for $30 prix fixe at dinner and the prices at lunch (fish tacos = $14, burger = $15) I expect both to be better than they have been during the last three meals at Elevation. In fact, after dropping $150, with wine before tip, for four people at dinner most recently our out of town friends commented that they probably wouldn't consider this as a dining destination next time they were in Bend given the cost for just OK food in that meal and learning curve service. We'd agree were we visitors, we might think twice before spending $60 / couple for the food alone. As residents we'll continue to go once a quarter, as opposed to twice as we did before, to support the students. But with the myriad of other dining options in Bend at this price point, it's fair to have higher expectations. Were this any other table service restaurant that raised menu prices by 33% in less than two years, diners would have fair expectations of elevated (no pun intended) return for the price increase. THIS N THAT: 1) Lunch menu used to mirror dinner menu but lunch is now an entirely different menu. Nice change. But you can also end up dropping $30 at lunch. Mains (for example, burgers and cobb type salad) are in the $14 - $15 range, add $5 if you have dessert and another $8 if you also pick from the starter menu and the total can quicikly approach that $30 mark. (lunch menu: http://elevationbend.com/menu/lunch-menu/) 2) Summer term means outdoor dining is available for lunch and dinner.

Yo - if you're visiting Bend - make your way here, without a doubt we will stop anytime on our way…read morethrough or if we come back! It's a walk in sit down spot - you place your order at the counter and they give you a number - decent size for busy food times - so usually plenty of seating. Over the phone ordering was a snap and the dude was super polite and helpful - not rushed. My wife got the traditional breakfast - she loved the local links and flaky biscuit - I think it was peach marmalade - not sure, but it was LEGIT. I got the pozole roja (I think that's the menu name) and - yo, it was the best pozole I've had. The ingredients were plenty, the chicken was tender and flavorful, they put the radishes, cilantro and cabbage on the side for you to add so it's not soggy. Sourdough was so good to dip - mouth is watering writing this. Service th morning we were headed out at 7amish was great also - wife got coffee cake (warmed in their brick oven) and I got two citrus muffins and a sourdough cinnamon roll for later - all were scrumptious and delightful. I would got a half dozen muffins if I knew they were that good before. People were kind and the service is quick. We ate there these two time on $52 dollars - both to-go orders. We will absolutely be back - every time we are near bend, I'll be stopping for pozole for sure! Well done, Jacksons Corner, well done!

Set in an old home, this establishment has become one of Bend's favorite restaurants. The menus have range with breakfast by far being my favorite. However, their pizzas are spectacular and I've never had a pastry yet that I didn't really enjoy. They serve coffee from a local roaster called Lone Pine. The staff is always extremely friendly and I have frequently positive interactions with them when I stop by. Prices are reasonable, and the food is very high-quality while also being consistently fresh. Parking can be a challenge at times, but it's always worth the effort. Not to mention a chance for a nice stroll around downtown Bend after my meal... just the perfect end to complement a perfect day here in this lovely place. Thank you Jackson's corner for being a staple in this community and consistently making every meal here a little bit more joyful.

That's really the only factor I can point to that's remotely negative but also not complaining it's an observation. I see after being there why this works for the restaurant. You order at the counter, get a number, and then sit. Since it was our first time, we wanted to look over the menu, but we ended up just going with the specials -- and honestly, they were incredible. We had a unique and delicious Portuguese sausage biscuits‑and‑gravy dish with bacon on the side, and the other plate was an eggs benedict on an amazingly light, airy muffin with tomato, perfectly poached eggs, and a Portuguese sausage link, plus potatoes. Our plates were spotless by the end. The house iced tea was also a standout -- infused with fruit and specialty tea, but without actual fruit pieces in the cup. It tasted elevated and refreshing. I also ordered a cinnamon‑cardamom coffee, which was divine. Next time -- because there will be a next time -- we're thinking of sharing the special of the day and getting a spread of fresh pastries. Highly recommend.
