This was our first experience with Beaver Electric. Beaver was recommended by our project manager, Jennifer Gross, of Stone Installation, who was working under the auspices of Saela Pest Control, responsible for clearing our attic, laying down new insulation, wrapping our crawl space and installing our sump pump. This was all part of the work we were having done by Saela Pest Control. Beaver is very easy to work with. I simply called and we got a spot on the calendar right away. Our electrician, Riad, showed up as promised and did a really through job. In addition to installing a plug in our garage for connecting the sump pump in our crawl space, he also did a thorough job of analyzing our house's electrical condition. Very nice! Everyone we spoke with was so helpful! Kelly and his colleague (didn't catch his name unfortunately!) came out and worked for hours in the heat, made multiple trips to get things right even when the terrain on our property caused problems, making their work extra difficult. Beaver Electric provided a good enough service but their price is way over the reasonable charge in my opinion. Recently we paid them over $500 to replace one bad breaker in the electrical panel. The material cost is only about $80. We will not use them again. read more

Really disappointed with our recent experience with Beaver Electric. We've used them several times in the past for our rental in Portland. They used to be reasonable but that is no longer the case. We had them come repair a faulty outlet. They quoted $80 to have a technician come out. After coming out, they said that they would need $678 to do a "level 2 diagnostic" to identify the problem. The technician said that they couldn't just replace the outlet, which is what we asked them to come out to fix. We then spoke to the owner, Ron. He tried to justify the $678 cost with numerous fanciful reasons that made no sense to me. He resorted to blaming me and saying that I "was the one with the problem". We were able to find another electrician who was able to come out and fix the problem for ~$200 (dispatch cost + parts). It was an easy fix for someone who knew what they doing. read more

So this is another piece in the epic saga to get a hot tub installed in our yard. PROS: They got the job done. They finished digging the ditch for conduit since we are both 50yrs old and arthritic. Work passed inspection. Tarps were put down to protect rugs when they were in and out. CONS: First was communication. I was told after we agreed to the work we needed to dig the conduit trench. Umm ok up until tree roots and not getting answers about 90 degree turns. Also did not appreciate the comment 'well most people get their landscaper to dig'. I am the landscaper. Yes we have purchased a hot tub but the took saving not a whim purchase. After running into tree roots and such I asked that they finish the ditch I had to dig. I figured they had a ditch witch or such to knock it out but nope, just two guys with shovels. Ok. One of the guys digging cursed a blue streak while working. The language not really the deal. It's the 'bitching' the whole time about a job they were hired to do. Not very professional. It was also not professional to partially block a shared driveway. Luckily it was not an issue for us or our neighbor. The work got done and the trench filled in and they only had to come back once to connect a ground. The carpets were protected but path through the garage was a mess. Not a huge deal just more work in the spring. Overall I think it was expensive. Some was knocked off because of the digging we did but it was still a lot! Overall it was a mixed bag. Older gentleman who did the initial walk was a bit dismissive and did not say anything about us digging. The first tech who was out digging in the rain was nice, the tech who joined him the second day was not so much. Not sure if he was cursing about the job, or what and his truck was partially blocking the driveway. When they came back to attach a ground the missed they did not even knock and say they did it. Which caused me to call and say 'hey are they coming back or what?' To which I was told the tech came, fixed, took pics and inspector approved the work. I can't speak to their services because I never got a call back. I had an electrical emergency, called the number they list on their website for emergencies. It went to voicemail twice and nobody called back after I left a message. Beaver Electric, you might want to update your website to remove the part about you being dedicated to helping people when there's an emergency: "If you are ever faced with an unexpected electrical emergency, we are here to respond to the call. No one ever plans for an electrical emergency to occur, and oftentimes the problem cannot wait until the next day to be resolved. These guys are my hero's. I've never had a need for an electrician before and of course as I'm selling my home the dryer just stopped working. Come to find out it was an electrical issue. The dispatcher was probably the sweetest/nicest customer service person I have ever interacted with. They were able to send John out the same day and he was like a hero with a cape on. He was able to come in and fix the issue with no problem. Was kind enough to dumb down the issue so that I understood what happened. The price was absolutely acceptable and I just can't say enough positive things about this company! Sad I found a great electrician but moving out of their service area! Thanks you guys! read more

For someone who doesn't have the time to shop around or supervise during the installation process, Beaver Electric is definitely a great option. The whole process was so much easier than my other experiences with installation and repair work, so I'm extremely happy! Ronald came out within the week of calling to come in and quote my electrical needs for my warehouse. He handled everything after I gave him the go ahead and ordered the scissor lift and materials needed for the job. Kelly and Matt came out, were really professional and took care of everything in the amount of time Ronald initially estimated. We offered to move the inventory out of the way but they went ahead and worked around everything instead. read more

My landlord decided to call Beaver Electric after seeing the outstanding reviews. We were having some trouble with electrical outlets in one room of the house. Beaver electric called and we made an appointment day & time that worked for us, then they called back 2 hours later to change my appointment, even though I specifically chose a time that would work with our schedule. Once the appointment day arrived, they showed up over 2 hours early for their appointment window. Luckily I was home at that time but they then proceeded to tell me that we made our appointment at a different time, even though we had talked about our appointment twice before. We had 2 people working on the electrical issue. They then started telling us about all these charges and fees that we would be required to pay. I told them we only rented the house and they would need to discuss that with the landlord, which they had no idea about. After over 10 minutes on the phone, they figured out we were only the renters and would not personally be paying any fees associated with this visit. Then while working, instead of asking they decided to move our bed and mess up our center beam under the matress since it looks like it was pushed only at one corner. They also needed to go into the attic and decided to let the door with the stairs fall down from the ceiling which resulted in 2 huge dents in our wood floor. They did clean up their mess on the floor afterwards which was nice. I am happy that they were able to fix our electrical problem however I will definitely recommend that my landlord looks elsewhere if we have an electrical issue next time. read more

We needed an electrician to come by our home today ASAP to assess what we thought was an electrical burning smell. This couldn't wait even a day because we were worried about whether it was dangerous to breathe in (we have a baby) and that the smell might go away before we could assess the problem. Other companies in the area said it would be at least a week until someone could come, and one said it would be at least $625 for someone to come today but they wouldn't be available until the end of the day. Beaver Electric sent an electrician (Ronald), who was already in the neighborhood, within 2 hours, and they only charged us $70 for the visit. Ronald was great, wore a mask, and put our minds at ease that it was likely just from our fluorescent lights beginning to burn out (not a danger to us).
