The folks are super friendly. We stopped in to rent skis from them. Having 3 locations makes it easier for people to access. I live their policy that allows you to rent for 3 days but keep the skis for 5 days. (As long as you pay for more than half the days). It works out well because most of the time we like to take a day off. read more

Really friendly and accommodating snowboard rental shop. They have a convenient 3 of 5 day rental so I don't pay for rest days. Erin (the owner) and Tom are awesome and helpful for snowboarding tips, though I didn't feel like some others (who mostly ski) provided much help or were knowledgeable on board selection. Our first time doing any skiing or snowboarding was this weekend. We really had no idea what to do. We first booked our rentals of the snowboards and other gear online with Beaver. We went the next day to pick up our gear and was greeted by George and Talon. From the start they were friendly,helpful, funny and to honest, calming. I was a bit nervous and they chilled me out. We had a blast, used there suggestions of where to go, and followed their instruction of how to use the equipment. We want to come back to winter park again. I have mixed feelings about Beavers Sport Shop. For sure, they are the cheapest in town and they offer an incredible deal when it comes to paying only for the days you actually ski/board. I asked how they enforce this, and a worker told me, "Honor system. Do you believe in karma?" At any rate, I don't think you can find a better deal in Winter Park. I'm virtually sure of it. For the service, I found it lacking. I called ahead and asked if they had snowboard bindings with certain features, adjustable high-backs, toe caps, etc. I was told one thing on the phone and told another in person. Little annoying but it happens. More importantly, I found the workers dismissive and abrupt. This felt counter-culture to a majority of my other experiences at Winter Park. And it's not like I am a jerky dude with 3 bratty kids who have never skied. I'm kind of savvy, so I was surprised to have my questions brushed off. The last irritating part was when I tried use my 30% discount from Yelp (check in to access). One of the workers told me it didn't apply. When I pressed him, he said it did apply but I would have to print the coupon and then hand it in. This was clearly total BS. The manager overheard, assessed the situation and agreed to honor the coupon. Skiing is fun. Renting equipment is usually fun. Beaver Sports was not fun. I will give credit where it's due, damn good prices. read more

Would recommend if the customer service was better. As a new snowboarder I had to rent gear for obvious reasons. When we walked in we were greeted by a nice foreign man and I was in the process of being fitted for boots and board until the taller young lady with glasses stepped in abruptly and snapped at me for not understanding the concept of the boots, noted I'm a beginner, second time doing this. (if they had name tags I would've included her name) When she finished her 'aggressive instruction' she loudly whispered "oh my god" to her co-workers, while rolling her eyes, assuming none of us heard. Mocked me in front of the store and lacked any and all optimism. It was embarrassing and honestly killed my vibe at first. If she were more patient or just simply let the nice man continue his instruction I would've been fine. Her side comments were completely unnecessary and turned me off from the idea of renting gear as a whole. As a GM of a business myself, I wouldn't consider hiring this chick unless I was absolutely utterly desperate for work. Considering it's Covid times and it's hard to find decent employees, I understand. Other than that. the prices are decent and the gear was decent. Stay clear of this place if you're a newb because you will 100% be shamed smfh read more

I had a great experience renting. My flights were cancelled two days in a row (Friday + Saturday) and I was not able to get on another flight until Monday night. We have been renting from Keith and the gang for many years. Never great, but it was located on the strip and easy to get to. I would summarize it as unnoteworthy one way or the other. This season we decided to book a trip early in the season. Unfortunately there was no snow early in December and only 10% of the runs at the resort were open. Winter Park Ski resort was super understanding and gave us snow checks. Keith however was a total jerk, and literally told me "it's not our problem you don't like the conditions." He refused to offer a credit or refund even after his staff member agreed the conditions were unacceptable AND agreed to process a refund. I had a missed call and voicemail from Keith while I was on my flight and we got in late. I called him back in the morning thinking all had already been taken care of and that's when things turned south. Check out the guys at Ski broker down in Fraser. Better equipment, easier to get in and out, and bottom line... better customer service. Ultimately I had to submit a fraudulent charge to my bank who recovered the funds that Keith refused to return. I just got the notice in the mail and it reminded me how great Ski Broker is compared to this rental facility, and especially the owner. Not charming. Try another option. read more

While the price was decent for my ski package rental, the store was extremely old and rundown looking and did not match my expectation of a Winter Park Ski Shop at all. From the tiny customer service area and cramped feeling with less than a dozen customers to the dirty, wrinkled carpet with duct tape on the floor telling where the lines were supposed to be to the old, beat up equipment they gave me (which is why the price was decent, I guess). I've been skiing for 40 years and this was the dumpiest ski rental establishment that I've been to. I made a reservation about two weeks ahead of time and it still took me nearly 45 minutes to get my skis. It was extremely inefficient with two tech's servicing one customer and they could only handle TWO customers at a time at the ski issue counters. I commented about the beat up boots and skis and he said they were last year's models, but I've NEVER rented such old looking, beat up equipment. I was only in Winter Park for one day to ski with my nephew, but I would never go back to that store again after that experience. read more

I needed to rent Ski's for my daughter and went to this offsite shop. pick up was almost too fast- and when we got to this lifts- her boots weren't set to the bindings- so we had to pay $24 for the Winterpark base tune shop to correct Kenton's error. I did approach him, produced the receipt and encouraged him to call WP to confirm they had to correct his errors. He called me a LIAR- I was stunned that a struggling retail shop trains there employees to address customers that way. Honestly- I didn't care about the 24 bucks- I just wanted to see how he would address his mistake. Not a good vibe at all. AVOID this retailer and spend your money at better local businesses. read more
