This is a must if you are in Niagra Falls!! Beaver tails are a dessert, they are known as the "Canadian donut." But honestly, they remind me of an elephant ear. It's fried crispy dough, and then a ton of different flavors to choose from. The strawberry cheesecake was definitely our favorite! They stay open late, until 2am I believe. So we went after seeing the light show at the falls. Even being late around 11pm, there was still quite the line but if was worth the wait! Restaurant is very small, only standing room to wait for your food, no sit down area. read more

A must visit and try if in the area. Crispy and fresh fruits. Had the bananas and Nutella beavertail. Soooo good. I shouldn't have shared! The only issue is there is zero seating if you want a place to relax out of the elements. However, there are benches up the hill and around the corner to the right. The service was efficient but not friendly. The place is clean. Overall a good bite I'd absolutely want to eat again. I will be thinking about this until I come back to Canada. read more

I was really excited to go to BeaverTails when I got to Niagara Falls because I heard that it was a must have snack (also one that is known to Canada)! When I got there, there were so many options for different toppings and Ice cream! I ended up going with the Classic BeaverTail that includes cinnamon and sugar on it. I would've done one of the bigger ones if I hadn't gone so close to our dinner reservation. The BeaverTail was good, mine tasted like a flat churro, which was a little underwhelming as I thought maybe it would be something more than just fried dough. But, that also may have been my mistake and I should've gone with one of the bigger options! Tasty, fast service, friendly workers. Even though it was busy when I got there, the wait was only a few minutes. While definitely not donuts (I love the chewier texture!), they are the same level of "sweet" as a donut, so expect a sugar rush. Not a local, so take this with a grain of salt, but I quite enjoyed the poutine too! Beaver tails are a little bigger than an eclair, so could be single serve or split between two. Only "gripe" would be that parking is very limited and the area is packed at night! Not something they can control though haha read more

Hello, I stopped in this place while on vacation because I remembered that John Pinette talked about it in one of his stand-ups. We got the brownie and the strawberry cheesecake. I tossed the brownie in the trash, yuk! But, the strawberry cheesecake was "Oh My"! Crunchy yet soft, creamy yet satisfying and dripping with sweetness. To the point where I thought my wife was gonna eat mine and have me WALK BACK UP that hill to get another one. The server was polite and took his time in assisting me. Amazing!!!!!!! This is def a must stop!!! The dough is light and crispy similar to maybe an elephant ear. The prices are very reasonable considering the other places in the area. I had the bananarama which was just the enough chocolate and bananas. The location is under a little hidden and google kind of sends you the wrong way. Just stay on Clifton hill and look for the gargoyles at the haunted house. read more

Hmmm... the beaver tail was delicious and service was fairly quick. The apple pie beaver tail was gooey and sugary, and the apples were nice. My wife made it her mission to get a Beaver Tail this summer and we accomplished that. Well worth the stop. I was annoyed that even through they sell coffee they were out and told me where else I could get some. "Tim Horton's is just down the road." Okay, lost some business but I don't think they otherwise cared. They were busy in this neighborhood. read more

$6 for a flaccid, limp, thin sad piece of dough. You know where this joke is going. This is not the Carnival treat I was expecting. Which is firm and crunchy and large. Elephant Ears is what I'm comparing this to. It's exactly the same treat but named 'Beaver Tails' because it's served in the Canadian side of NiagaraFalls. There was enough cinnamon and sugar but the dough was just so poorly cooked and this and limp. Parents - Maybe spend that $6 at the Hershey Store. At least there will be some quality control. We ordered a banarama and a poutine... literally sooooooo good. The poutine was my top 3 best poutine I've ever had. After walking the falls I was starving and the poutine filled me right up. It was so delicious. Then the banarama was also delicious, the pastry was very. Crispy. 10/10 I'll come again anytime I'm in the area. Food was also done in like 6-7 minutes very speedy service. The ice cream and drinks also look fantastic. I'll recommend this to everyone coming to the falls in Ontario read more

The first time I've ever had a beaver tail was in EPCOT Disney's Canada and fell in love immediately. What's not to love about this fried dough sprinkled with aromatic cinnamon and sugar! So when my family planned on making a trip to Canada, I just knew I HAVE to finally try it in the home country! Found this place when we were walking from our hotel to Niagara Falls. It is located in a very tourist trap area so some people may say the price is high. I thought it was decent considering that this is Canada. We got the classic just simple cinnamon and sugar beaver tail. You can see them make it right in front of you! Watch them put on different kinds of toppings and syrups and I am sure you will start to drool. Got my beaver tail hot and fresh! It was delicious!! My family devoured it in a few minutes! These are great and something you must simply get (right after poutine) if you're in the area. The beaver tail is very similar to what many of us have had before called an elephant ear but it comes in many varieties. We got the one with Nutella and bananas. The beaver bites are almost like pretzel bites but they're covered in maple syrup and Canadian bacon (oh Canada). So good! read more

The location was outside the mall. The server's customer service skills was five star. We tried the Hazel Amour pastry which was okay. But the Avalanche pastry was so good; I would definitely recommend everyone to try it. The pastries come warm which makes the bread taste amazing. I will say though it is very sweet so if you do have a sweet tooth, these are the pastries to try. read more

I pulled into this plaza, which has a bunch of stores that I want to check out when I'm back. I parked and walked in. There is plenty of parking. There was one person placing an order. It was enough time for me to review the menu and figure out what I wanted to get. Philthy Philly's has recently introduced Broad Street burgers to its menu. I love a good burger, but I was craving a cheesesteak more. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Grow-Op burger, which is a veggie burger. The person helping me with my Groupon was helpful and cool. The redemption was straightforward. I ordered a regular cheesesteak. I got steak, with green peppers, onions, mushrooms, swiss cheese, and apple butter mesquite sauce. I also got a Phil-sized bacon poutine and a Diet Coke. I got my Diet Coke and waited for my order at a table. It gave me time to observe the artwork around me. My order was ready. I picked it up and thanked the guy. I was ready to chow down. I was hungry! The bacon poutine is the best at this Philthy Phil's. The bacon was crisp. The gravy was perfect, melting all the cheese curds into the perfect cheese pull with every fork helping. One word: fantastic! My cheesesteak was so good. It was my first time trying the apple butter mesquite sauce. It has so many complex layers of flavour. I loved that it was almost different with each bite. Yum! This place has a single women's washroom, which was spacious and clean. I saw two guys go into the men's, so I can't comment on that and don't want to speculate! I thanked the staff here when I left. My son ordered the Butter Chicken Poutine, my daughter ordered the Perogy Poutine and my hubby ordered the Avalanche Poutine. The Butter Chicken poutine was the clear winner. It was so good, I still talk about it. Service was fine, the young lady who helped us walked us through a couple of the poutines. Place is small but it was super clean. They had a lot of take-out/food delivery orders while we were there. We will probably eat here again on our next visit to Canada in a couple months.

The portions are huge and the flavors were really good. The food was fresh and prepared well. Felt it was a little overpriced for the amount of chicken added. Most of the base is fries and just the top is chicken cut to very small pieces. The cauliflower one only had like 4 florets. The ambiance matches the vibes of what Smokes wants to represent. There's rock music playing in the background and it's a nice casual spot. The service is quick and the workers were nice.

The brewery itself produces many beers and the kitchen has a great selection of food items as well as daily specials. The space is kid and family friendly where it is fully accessible (stroller friendly!). There are board games you can play and a small kids corner if your children want to play with a huge connect four as well. In terms of parking, there are lots of spots throughout the parking lot. In the summer there is also a small patio to enjoy your beers and food. Menu wise, the variety of dishes include classics like a burger and poutine as well as pasta and a vegetarian banh mi. There is also a small kids menu as well. Drinks menu wise, there is a large list of beers to choose from as well as a small list of wines, ciders, and non-alcoholic options. I had a party of 5 (4 adults and 1 baby) dine at Counterpart Brewery recently. Staff were accommodating where there was a high seat available for the baby. The space is spacious although in some areas it may be harder to fit a stroller through, but either way the space is very kid and family friendly (we saw many kids and families during our time there!). Service was great and the staff were friendly. The menu is accessed through a QR code via your phone which is at the table. My party ordered the following: - Fried chicken sandwich (b&b pickles, pickled jalapenos, cabbage slaw, and sriracha mayo) - $17 - Porchetta sandwich (slow roasted Italian pork, salsa verde, crispy crackling, arugula) - $17 - House cut fries (old bay, malt vinegar aioli) - $10 - Peach Chardonnay cider from Niagara Cider Company - $10 - Grilled jerk chicken plate (grilled pineapple, house cut fries, red cabbage slaw, cilantro) - $27 I tried the fried chicken sandwich and the porchetta sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious! In terms of the fried chicken sandwich, the chicken (which was dark meat) was tender and juicy. The pickles and slaw complimented the chicken well where the sandwich didn't feel heavy. The overall sandwich wasn't spicy even though there were jalapenos and sriracha mayo. The porchetta sandwich was also great as well which was served on a ciabatta style bun. The pork was tasty and the salsa verde added so much flavour to the sandwich. The crispy crackling definitely added some textural contrast to each bite. Overall, a great place with delicious eats and friendly service! If you enjoy beer they have a great selection to choose from. The place is also very family friendly with lots of parking outside. A must try if you are in the Niagara Falls area!
