This patisserie is an offshoot of the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute so it's largely operated by students. Great assortment of pastries and other treats. They also serve coffee and hot chocolate. Service will be spotty due to its instructional nature, but thoughtful and considerate. I had to wait for my macaron and received an extra one for my trouble. Alas, I forgot to take a picture before a son and I devoured them. They are large, almost palm sized, like the ones at Chrusciki Bakery, and just as good. Decadent, not too sweet, great texture. Always fast and friendly service from the culinary students. A nicely displayed selection of scrumptious bakery options such as scones, croissants, cookies, cupcakes, cheesecake and more! They also have coffee, tea and energy drinks. Today I only stopped in for my favorite, dirty chai téa. It is hands down the best dirty chai I've ever had. They make their own concentrate which isn't too sweet and really gives you the peppery, cinnamony flavor a chai should have. The flavors of the chai, espresso and milk (I get almond milk) are all perfectly balanced and compliment each other for delicious sip after sip. And, the cherry on top... A large with almond milk comes in just under $5! Anywhere else it'd be $7+ and wouldn't taste as good. They also have a selection of house made gelato in the warmer weather. It is, yes, a little sandwich shop, so it looks a little misleading, but they have a little bit of everything in their bakery goods, the most delectable sandwiches and crepes, but the show's star was the gelato. I stopped by the café in the morning of my last day in Niagara Falls and I regret not knowing about it sooner. I picked a chocolate croissant and the pastry chef kindly warmed it up to enjoy with my cup of coffee. I cannot describe how incredible the bakery smelled in this boutique shop -- you have to be there and smell it for yourself. These culinary students are incredible. And let me keep raving about this chocolate croissant. You know those chocolate croissants you typically get that are just two or three layers of buttered dough that's too chewy and has maybe a thick block of chocolate in the middle (if you're lucky)? This cafe is AMAZING! Hubby and I found this cafe while at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute to see WNY's largest Gingerbread house, The Gingerbread Wonderland. Gingerbread Wonderland is not noteworthy, but this cafe surely is! We were so thankful to find it because we were pretty hungry when we got to the NFCI. It's a very small cafe with only 2 tables inside, but decent seating outside the cafe, while still inside the institute. We had a freshly made cheese bagel toasted with butter. It was yummy. Hubs had a vanilla latte and enjoyed it. As for pastries, we had a bunch of things! 1) Caramel apple cheesecake bar -We got a 2nd one before we left because it was that good! It's extremely smooth and soft but not too soft. The oat crumble on top added a nice crunchy element and the small chunks of apple were great too! It tastes like Christmas! 2) Macadamia Nut Caramel tart -So yummy! There are whole macadamia nuts inside the caramel which sits on top of the tart. The crust is perfect and the fudge on top is so yummy! 3) Bourbon pecan pie cupcake -Hubby couldn't try it because he has a tree nut allergy so I got this one all to myself. It was good but I don't care for chocolate cake cupcakes or chocolate cake. I prefer white or yellow. The pecan pie filing was good but it was at the verrryyy bottom and took awhile to get to it and there wasn't much. The topping was good with the pecan crumbles, but I wouldn't get it again. 4) Raspberry brioche -The filling was yummy, but we waited a little too long to eat it and the bread got a little hard. So consume right away! 5) White chocolate raspberry tart -I didn't care for this one, but hubs enjoyed it. For me, the frosting type of topping is too much, there's very little white chocolate taste and little to no raspberry taste. Def give this cafe a try and support the school and students by Dec 21st or you'll have to wait til Jan 21st when it reopens! read more

It's usually not open on the weekends, but during the Gingerbread Wonderland (end of Nov-just before Christmas) both the café and Barnes and Noble are open. They had a way array of sweets available - flaky pastries, specialty cheesecakes, seasonal muffins and tarts, huge bagels, fancy frosted cupcakes, and large cookies. The pistachio éclair caught my eye! There was also a variety of gelato flavors to choose from - apple cider, brownie, raspberry cheesecake, hot cocoa, and more. They all looked like they had a smooth, creamy texture - no frost bite here! Although I didn't purchase anything since I was anticipating a big lunch, I would recommend checking this place out if you have a sweet tooth or are looking for a homemade ginormous, chewy bagel. This is a small cafe of mainly baked sweets, run by the students of the attached Culinary Institute. We stopped in here for a freshly made bagel, coffee, and capuccino, and service was quick, polite, and professional. There is very limited seating inside the cafe, but ample public seating outside. Bathrooms in the NFCI are open to the public, and absolutely sparkling clean (for you tourists). Stopped in while waiting on our order from the deli figured we would pick up some dessert so we took it back to our hotel and I'm definitely glad we stopped in My wife had the brownie she said it was the best brownie she had ever had. Small, quaint pastry shop located inside the Culinary Institute. The cinnamon roll was huge and covered in a rich icing (almost too rich!). Delicious!. The ham and swiss croissant was delicious as well, the bread flaky and moist. Could have been warmer (was lukewarm). A few issues: 1) Shop had just opened and almost none of the pastries had been put into the display case. This caused the growing number of people entering to wait around to actually see the products before purchasing. 2) Young lady working in the shop did not seem to have any product knowledge and had to continually ask the other 2 workers (who were still filling the display cases). My sister asked what tea choices you have and she flippantly pointed and said "over there" she did tell me she has graduated. We stopped there for a coffee and dessert. The desserts in the case were not labeled so we had to ask what they were. We ordered a peach tart and key lime pie, both were horrible. The whipped cream was either extremely old or way over whipped. The key lime pie tasted nothing at all like key lime pie and did not look like it either. I ordered a double espresso and was asked if i want a 14 or 16 oz. This place needs major work and fresh desserts. Extremely disappointed and a waste of $12. read more
