We stopped in for lunch and found ourselves in a quiet, clean, warmly decorated place. Our server Emma was delightful, attentive and conversational. Three small appetizers came quickly to the table one of which was a kimchee that was delicious, less stringent than others we've had. Our orders of Haemul Pajeon, a tasty pancake, and Mandu dumplings were terrific flowed by Korean fried tofu with sauces and Gimbap, sushi like rolls with easy to bite thru seaweed wrappers and Spam - yes pieces of Spam which were great!!! Not a great first impression but the food was decent. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation but waited 15 minutes and were never greeted by the bar tender or servers who saw us. They don't have a host Monday - Thursday and apparently they couldn't see us over the 8 people seated at the bar. Even being quickly greeted would have gone a long way. We had to chase down someone to seat us despite the restaurant only being half full. The main server did apologize but our drinks also took 20 minutes after ordering to make it to the table. The gal bussing plates and filling waters was the most attentive and appreciated. Not pictured was the Japchae which was everyone's favorite meal. My dish (Kimchi udon Bokkeum) seemed rushed and half the cabbage was raw and flavorless but the noodles were tasty. Ambiance was nice. Won't be eager to return. read more

The restaurant was pleasant and nicely decorated. Unfortunately the food was bland. The banchan was off, the kimchi was too sweet and bean sprouts were not good, and I love bean sprouts. For appetizers we got the chicken wings and the gimbap. The chicken was the best thing we had, a good fried chicken with a sweet and spicy sauce. Gimbap was pretty flavorless, the rice definitely needs more flavor. I'd say the frozen Costco one is much better. For entrees we had the bulgogi cheesesteak and the kimchi jjigae. The sandwich was ok, I think the problem is just that the bulgogi isn't very flavorful. The soup was so bland and flavorless, which is hard to do with kimchi and pork belly. It tasted like a bland tomato soup. The pork belly was chewy and it didn't taste like kimchi at all. We had sesame ice cream which was very good and the pandan cake was ok. Sadly, bad food and will not go back. Really really wanted to like this, but if you want good Korean, cook it yourself. Only recommend the chicken and ice cream. read more

Good but not memorable. Now the wings with the spicy sauce were Amazing. Could have been peanut in the sauce. Then we dipped them in a side of the sweet sauce. OMG. To die for. Next Annika recommended the Japche with Bulgogi Beef. A sweet and savory explosion for the mouth. To balance it out with a bit of spice we added the Dakgalbi chicken. Perfection. We loved it. We try any cuisine we can get. Some of the flavors were familiar from some Korean based frozen meals I've had, but I am FAR from a connoisseur. The vibe was fun, the drinks were unique and the food was plentiful. We had one starter, tteokbokki. The rice cake texture was divine and was the star of the meal. We followed with a shareable: japchae with added beef bolgogi. We were surprised by how much "added beef" there was, but the dish would have stood on its own without it. I've heard the food is not necessarily traditional Korean (not Korean myself) but is still very good. The portions are large and are meant to share with a group of people. I went in a group with 6 people and ordered 4-5 dishes which we all shared. Recommend the bulgogi, tteokbokki and Japchae. The drinks are VERY good as well. read more

I really want this place to do well since there's a gross absence of Korean food in Rochester so all my feedback are coming from a place of love. Went during soft opening with my family and they clearly are still working out some kinks logistically. The good: The basic flavors are there in most of the dishes. The bulgogi was great and we loved the fact that they had Makgeolli on the menu. Ambience was 10/10. The not so good: A few more things here. 1. We ordered quite a few things so maybe it was a lot for the server to get them right but one of the entrees showed up first and one of the dishes had to be refired because of a modification. We didn't get drinks until basically halfway into the meal. 2. The haemul pajeon (seafood pancake) had all the right flavors and ingredients but the dough was seriously undercooked and falling apart when you tried to pick up the slices. 3. Probably my biggest personal pet peeve was how little banchan/rice we were given. Each bowl of rice was only half full which I've never encountered at any place that served Asian cuisine. All the Korean places I've been to has unlimited banchan and Korean food is almost always meant to be eaten with rice so both these were huge red flags. Hopefully they can find some alternative places to cut cost. Overall willing to give it another chance in the future but I really hope they work out some of the issues. read more

Picked up food tonight. Walked in and it was a very cute place. Didn't expect much when we saw no Koreans or Asians in sight. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. While we did find the prices quite high...it was all flavorful. Definitely order the crispy kimchi pancakes! The Galbi was tender and flavorful and a very good sized portion. The cheese corn was expensive for the quantity but nice flavor. the japchae in seaweed is the one dish I'd skip again. The rice cakes in the tteokbokki were very tender as they should be. Went here with a group of 8 for a business dinner. First off, I will say that our service was great once we were sat for dinner, but we had some issues prior to getting our table. The 2 stars is for average food and overall poor organization on the restaurant's part. We knew we had a bigger group and this place is smaller, so we called several days prior to make our reservation for 8 at 6:45. I was the first to arrive for our group maybe about 10 minutes prior and was not in a rush to get sat. The hostess told us that it shouldn't be to long to get the table ready, I said no problem. Our group arrives in its entirety around 6:50 and hostess again says it shouldnt be too long but she did say that they gave away the table that was reserved for us because another large group came in claiming to have a reservation earlier in the evening, even though they had no record of this other group having a reservation. 35 minutes pass after our reservation time and the group is strongly considering going somewhere else just as they have a table ready. It was a large corner booth but I don't believe this is the table they initially had planned for us, it was cramped and they had to bring an extra chair just to fit all of us. So some poor organization and giving up a large party's table wasn't the greatest start for our group, all of us coming here for the first time. We ordered essentially everything on the menu given we had a large group and overall the food was meh. A few standouts were the seafood pancake and the deep fried sweet potato noodles, overall nothing to come back for. For entrees I ordered the short ribs (pricey at 32$) and there were so many pieces with just bone and fat, very little meat. Definitely would not order it again for that price. Other plates that were ordered had good portions but the entrees with the hot bowl served, our friends didnt like the burnt crunchy rice bits at the bottom from the bowl being so hot. Everyone left with kind of the same impression that it was just okay, a bit pricey, and frustrated by being sat 40 minutes after a reservation that was made days in advance. read more

Amazing! There's really nothing like it in Rochester. As many other reviews have said; service was amazing! Menu was expansive and yet simple. Some of the best Authentic Korean Cuisine I've had. This is such a wonderful addition to Rochester, MN! We've gone back multiple times and we've tried many of their dishes--all of them are authentic and delicious. I am a fan of bibimbap but the Japchae with beef bulgogi and the pajeon (seafood pancake) stole the show. The galbitang will warm you to the core during winter. The spam gimbap is fun to try and yummy. read more
