Found this place around the corner from the air b&b we were staying at. This place was busy and the line looked long but it went by pretty fast. You need to know Spanish. Thank goodness for our phones to help us order and point out what we want. The employees were nice and patient with us. We ordered 1lb of ribs, which was good. It fell off the bones. We order a whole chicken because why not. It was dry sadly. My friend that also order the chicken was nice and moist and that was good. So the consistency isn't quite there. Rice and beans in Puerto Rico are traditional sides, we ordered the medium side which was more than enough. I'm not a fan of beans but the rice has good flavors. I wish they had some type of bbq or hot sauce- it would completed the meals. The best part is the price, we got all three for around $27.00. This was the cheapest meal we had in PR and it's worth it in my opinion. read more

Loved everything especially the ribs but not so much the blood sausage; it was just okay as it was too dense for our liking. Lots of parking. One of my favorite spot in Puerto Rico. It's open 24/7. You will find a line of customers whatever time you go, for good reason. It's definitely a spot for the locals. It took some time for our order to be ready but it was worth the wait. The meat were all so tender and flavorful. I wish the skin of the roasted pork was still crispy but it was already stale. My daughter loves the roasted chicken. It's huge portion so definitely great to be shared. It's outdoor seating, they give out plates and utensils. read more

We stopped here as suggested from our host Isabel and it was to DIE for!!! My husband and I split a whole chicken as a pound of Pernil. I was way too much food for us since we also got the arroz habichuelas and a maduro. Everything had such good flavor and was so tender. The service was good! You give them your name after your order against the side wall by the tables and when your food is ready, they holler your name. You pick it up, pay and enjoy! This place has outdoor seating only. Loved the food at this bbq at this spot near the airport! We came around late afternoon and they were totally sold out of pernil. The tostones and pork ribs were fantastic and the ribs had the best sauce on them. Service was fast and efficient but the atmosphere lost some stars for me due to all of the pigeons around while eating. This is one of my all time favorite spots. Every time I come to PR I have to stop here and grab a bite to eat. This place has totally Inexpensive cuisine. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. I usually get the roast pork, white rice and beans, yuca and blood sausage (morcilla). It never fails to please. If you are concerned with the looks of the restaurant then you will miss out on some of the best food on the island. The beer is always super cold and the food is awesome. Now I won't lie, the staff is a bit slow so you have to kind of grin and bear it but it is worth it. Forget the high priced food and get the real down home stuff and value prices. read more

We dined at Bebo's BBQ after a late flight into PR. This place should be everyone's first stop. They serve a ton of food and everything is piping hot and cooked to perfection. Due to COVID, they are carry out only but since we had a long drive we asked for extra napkins and made our way back on the road. We tried most of their offerings: - Pernil was cooked to perfection - Tostones were perfectly seasoned - Amarillos always my favorite - Yuca encebollada was so flavorful Next time I plan to try their famous rice and beans and maybe even the chicken. This is an outdoor restaurant right off the highway near the airport. It's open 24/7 and on Thanksgiving was one of the very few places open to get food. It smelled heavenly and even though the lines were long they moved quickly. I ordered chicken, ribs, pork, rice with peas and plaintain for our family of 4, for under $40. Visiting from US and I love Pernil, morcillas etc Sunday around 5:00 pm and was not crowed, found parking right in front The morcillas were HORRIBLE (just like I remembered them last year too) very dry, old, no taste of seasoning/cilantro etc. they were so dry that they would crumble and the taste made me nauseous. We came to Bebo's as is was highly recommended to us by my husbands co-workers who are from San Juan. We had some issues with our flights so it gave us an opportunity to take an Uber over and grab an early dinner. We got there and found a line, we jumped in it and began our wait. After being there about 15 min a very rude woman walked up to us and asked for our order. We were not prepared for this type of ordering we hadn't seen a menu and had no idea what to order or how to order. When we tried asking question she was extremely rude and pointed over towards the counter and said something like "that is what we have". We walked to the counter and found just a couple items in the hot line. But wait! I found a QR Code leading us to a menu. We prepared our order and when the rude lady came back we were ready to make our order. We waited in line without issues yeah it was hot and kind of a long wait but not a big deal we get that part. Once we were called to the counter to collect our order and pay we noticed something different happening then with other customers. The rude lady came up to the counter and took control of the credit card machine. She began to charge us, she held my credit card after the chip reader did it's thing. She turned it towards me to leave a tip. Due to her horrible service I decided I was not going to leave a tip. This is not a full service restaurant. She had the nerve to confront me and say "you are not going to leave a tip" I flat out told her I would not be leaving a tip because of her attitude and treatment of us. The most important thing here is that she didn't do this to any other costumers. It was very clear to us that she treated us differently because we were obviously tourists. The food was a amazing and Bepo's would have received a 4 or 5 star review from me but this women ruined our experience. We were starving after our flight from Boston and waiting for our rental car. I had Bebo's on my list of places our family of picky, allergy-laden eaters could eat-and I am so glad that I did! It was our first meal in PR and it did not disappoint. The person taking orders in line for the counter did not speak much English and we only speak a little Spanish but we made it work! We had chicken, rice with peas, ribs, and plantains-my kids loved it all! I've never seen them eat chicken like that and I was not at all worried about their dairy and gluten allergies. The portions were HUGE and the price was very economical. We had leftovers to bring to the place we were staying and enjoyed them again later that night :) Thrilled that we took a chance and had some authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. But the restaurant itself is a pleasant enough outdoor area to eat at. I liked the BBQ pork a lot, and the sides were good as well. As an only English speaking girl from Alabama this place was kind of intimidating because there is NO menu. Everyone there seemed local and knew what to get and it took us a minute to figure out what was going on BUT we met someone in line behind us who was able to help us order. Our newly found friend got us basically Pulled pork and Spanish rice. They serve large portions cheap and this was absolutely delicious. Best Spanish rice ever. Very tender and well flavored bbq meat as well. Honestly it was worth the confusion and intimidation. Also, there is only outside seating so near that in mind. Definitely check this place out. On our way to pick up our rental, our Uber driver recommended this spot! So of course, it was busy (on a Saturday) and we had to try it. Yes, the long awaited lechon on our bucket list was here! We ordered lechon, arroz, chicken and ribs. Everything was AMAZING. I believe our eyes were bigger than our stomach, so we just took it to go. Amazing, authentic food! It is very inexpensive to eat here. On our way to drop off our rental and on our way to the airport, of course we had to stop one last time and enjoy some BBQ. This time we were more familiar with the amount of food, so we ordered 1 lb of lechon, 1/2 lb of ribs and arroz blanco con habichuelas rosadas. You'll find it next to a McDonalds so follow those Golden Arches but veer next door. Large parking lot. Two lines but one isn't marked so it can be confusing. If there's counter space, you can order from there. Some of the nice ladies speak English, some don't. Hand motions and Spanglish works fine here. There is no menu. What you see in the glass display with the heat lamps is what you get. Or maybe there's more items written on some of the white sheets of paper next to the display but who am I to try to translate it. Four years of high school Spanish did absolutely nothing for me. Sorry Mrs. Ramirez! I've learned that you essentially order by the weight or amount. You decide. Everything is a la carte. There's usually a line and it can take a while but it's worth it. You order at the counter and the lady also packs together your order. Meat options include: - Roasted chicken: SO GOOD. Freaking tender as heck and nicely seasoned. Honestly reminds me of a Costco rotisserie chicken but even BETTER and you know that's legit. Minimum order is 1/2 a chicken and you'll be glad you get atleast half. - Ribs: SO TENDER. Falls off the bone. You see a trend here? It's all freaking good. - Slow marinated pork: Probably my least favorite of the meats but it's still good in its own right. A tad too salty for even me. The other meat options I didn't get a chance to try were the blood sausage and regular sausage. Be warned they love SALT here and I love them for it. They're not afraid to season the meat and it shows. Side options include: - Rice: There has to be crack in this because it was addictive. - Yuca with onions: I've never tried it with onions before and now I'm hooked! Makes it super savory. - Plantains: Steamed and sweet. Kind of on the tougher side. Not my favorite. Yes, the food is greasy and probably not the healthiest, but it's freaking BBQ. If you want healthy, go find some Vegan kale avocado salad juicebar spot. This ain't it sweetheart. My fiancé and I ate here twice in our trip and we were debating on going a third time on our way to the airport. It's good. It's cheap! One of the first stops you need to make when you get to Puerto Rico. There will be a line but it is worth the flavors your will be experiencing. The pernil is so soft and pulls away with a fork. The Arroz con gandules, yellow rice with pigeon peas. has to be the best I had ever had. A side of yuka tostones with ketchup mayo sauce. Usually not if fan but this changed my outlook on them. First meal in the PR did not disappoint. I always enjoy a good local spot. The atmosphere was just right - outside, no English and all the locals rushing in to get take out. Some people stayed to eat and it got more crowded as it got closer to dinner time. There are gambling arcade games to play while you wait but there wasn't much of a wait because we got there early. The food was tasty! We had the chicken, pork rice and plantains. All was good. We were just disappointed with the pork skin. It was soft and chewy. There was no menu so you just have to look at all the cooked food and tell them what you want. Prices are good, it was a good stop! Glad we picked this place for our first meal. Went back for the second time and it's such a great cheap meal. Had the ribs this time. Delicious! There isn't a menu that I can see or anyone speaking English. Just go for it. A few people told us to try Bebo's BBQ. They were raving about the food. i don't know if the day we went it was an off day or what but the food was horrible. Due to Covid-19 its like a drive through. They come to our cars and take our order and we drive up until we reach the front and they bring out our food. The line was quick I must say that. We got our food went, parked the car to eat and we immediately spit it back out. The food was greasy and it tasted awful. The pork was cold and the pieces they gave us was mostly fat. I saved Bebo's prior to my arrival in PR. We drove past it to go to our AirBnB and the line attracted me to look at the place and then I saw the line - Bebo's BBQ. Since I read the reviews and observed the line for myself I said "okay we gotta go!" About an hour later, we were there. The line was cut in half by the time we arrived. We were immediately waited on as everyone else was waiting for their plates. Once the waiter realized I didn't speak Spanish, she appeared to get annoyed and called over another waitress who spoke Spanish. The original waitress stayed there and jotted down the order but her facial expressions wasn't pleasant. The one that spoke English was very nice! We ordered three plate: 1. Chicken, rice and peas and plantains 2. Pork, rice and peas and plantains 3. Tostones and chicken My dad and I (ordered 1 and 3) thought it was really good. My boyfriend didn't like his pork though. I came here for my last meal in Puerto Rico before I went home and really enjoyed their food. I ordered the full side of Pernil, a medium side of Arroz con Gandules. And a 1/2 side of Morcilla (which got messed up and I never received). The Pernil was outstanding especially the pieces of barbecued skin that was crunchy.
