Fire! This place is right by the airport but definitely gets packed! There is a parking lot right next to it which makes it easy to get in and out. The chicken is amazing, also recommended the rice, batata and tostones. All amazing. I do wish they had some salsa or hot sauce. But even without it their food is great. Food wasn't as good as people say. Chicken needed a sauce so they had hot sauce and bbq sauce. Wasn't really what the chicken needed. Rice was dry, had ok flavor. I got plantain and it was so soggy and undercooked. The texture was all wrong. Overall I wouldn't come back. The food was inexpensive but it just wasn't prepared that well. Service was ok but for some reason they lied about the kind of sauces they had so some people in our group got bbq...some got hot sauce...some got a different sauce. My first dinner in PR and after reading the outstanding reviews, I decided to give it a try. I had a half chicken with rice and beans, and a side order of mofongo. I also ordered a Coke Zero which apparently is synonymous with Diet Coke. The price was exceptional at &12.08! The chicken was good, but the white meat was a bit dry but the thighs were moist. It was much bigger than I expected and I got two meals out of it. I had never tried mofongo before, but I didn't think it was very good, just okay. It turns out, I liked the other mofongo I tried much better. The service was very good, once you got to the front of the line. After renting our car, we drove a little farther up to bebo's and the man who checked us out at the rental car company was in line as well! Line moved quick, food was ready within five minutes. A must try!!! And you need to at least try to speak Spanish because, from my experience, nobody is speaking English (which is fine because I enjoy practicing). Bebo's is an open-air restaurant located right next to the airport (SJU). You can even see airplanes taxiing around. We decided to try Bebo's because it popped up on Yelp and I am glad we did!! There were lots of local ppl when we arrived, which is ALWAYS a good sign! The food here tastes excellent (well-seasoned and cooked perfectly), the prices are very pocket friendly, and you get the food, at the counter, immediately. We ordered: a whole chicken, 1 lb longaniza (sausage), 1/4 lb sweet potato, medium arroz con gandules, 1/2 lb ribs, and 2L Sprite for $35.01 and, of course had plenty of leftovers. Last night in PR and we hit this famous BBQ place right by airport. Long line to order food. Pork Ribs and chicken and Rice and sweet potato for 4 people cost $78! Chickes portions are massive. I enjoyed the ribs the most with rice and i thought the sweet potato was amazing. You seat yourself and it's pretty basic amd literally can watch planes! A local in San Juan recommended stopping by here, everything is affordable and delicious. There's always a line here, and they are open 24 hours! Do note that not everyone understands or speaks English here. They have a menu you can look up with their QR Code which has it in English and Spanish. There's a person that takes the order from the line, then lets the people in the back know to get the order ready. Then the cashier will call your name when the order is ready for you to pay. We ordered a variety of items to try: Boiled Yucca with Onion: This dish was what I saw everyone was ordering. I forgot to order it and asked the cashier if I could add it to my order and they were able to add it for me. Yucca is very popular in Puerto Rico, this is the first time I've had it boiled. The thinly sliced onions added a nice flavor to help lighten some of the fried foods we were eating. Batata: Sweet potato that was roasted, no seasoning but good. Natural sweet potato flavor. Maduros: Fried ripe sweet plantains, a good amount of sweetness, not too sweet. Longaniza: Puerto Rican sausage. The sausage had large chunks of chicken in it, not like a typical sausage with some seasonings in it. Pernil: Roasted pig. The pork texture wasn't too tender, and the skin wasn't crisp but it was good. Costillas: Pork ribs. Similar flavoring to the pernil. I liked this better than the pernil though. This is a busy place! Came on Saturday 5:30pm and the line was out the roof! But everything is organized and in control. A lady takes order from the line, then she passes the order to the back where they pack up, then the cashier calls you to pay. We tried almost everything and love the price, very reasonable! The pork is the best, super juicy, the chicken legs are also juicy but the breast is a bit dry. The ribs are also nice and soft, the rice is flavorful, I like the fried sausage more than the blood sausage but I'm generally not an expert with sausages. read more

The best food you'll find in Puerto Rico. Seriously. I've been to PR 6 times and counting, have stayed with locals (family) and we always agree that this is the best place we ate at each time. The lechón is awesome. The arroz con gandules are full of garlicky flavor, and the amarillos (sweet plantains) are done just right. After a night of traveling from one side of the island to the other, we were in search of good food late. I stumbled across this spot on Yelp that said it was 24 hours. The reviews are great so I decided to see if it lived up to all the hype. 1. It closed at 11pm on a tuesday when we went. So it's not 24 hours anymore. (We barely made it) 2. Put "Routes Car Rental" in your gps to find it. I had a super hard time going to the wrong locations. It's right next to the McDonalds. 3. I got 1/2 of the pernil, 1/2 chicken, 1/2 rib a small rice, fries, a vanilla flan and 2 sodas. It was less than $30 and the portions were huge. It was enough for two of us and we had leftovers! So be careful when you order to not get too much! The hype is well deserved. The food is very good. However, the chicken was a little too dry for my taste but again we were there right before closing time. If you are getting a car rental the line can be huge!
