This is definitely a first stop place as soon as you leave San Juan airport. It's only five minutes away from the terminal. We arrived at the start of lunch hour, and the parking lot was packed. The dining area was packed too even though it was 91 degrees so we quickly ordered our food and retreated back to the air conditioner of our car to enjoy our food. We ordered a pound of ribs, a pound of carne frida or fried pork chunks, three whole sweet plantains, an order of fries and three drinks for only $34 with plenty of leftovers. It's a struggle here if you don't speak fluent Spanish. There is no menu and long lines. They will take your order in advance while you're in line and they have no patience explaining their menu or trying to understand your broken Spanish. Not sure if it was intentional, but at least 6 people ahead of me and another 6 behind me got their food but I stood there waiting like a fool. The other customers saw what was happening and spoke up for me. It was then that they started preparing the food and I got it minutes later. The food itself wasn't spectacular either. Theres really no outside cooling system for the outdoor seating when it's humid but it is really spacious. Located across the street from the landing strip by at the air port. This was definitely more of a local spot rather than a tourist trap. We barely spoke any spanish and the lady who took our order didnt speak any english so it felt like a clown to clown convo at the drive through. The ribs were tender and the pork was little dry; however, the skin was crispy deliciousness!! --The rice lacked flavor. --The yucca was tasty and the onion had too much oil. --The garlic sauce too much margarine. Flying in and immediately going for a plate of succulent lechon could not be more convenient or delicious. Located a short seven minutes from the airport, which can be turned into five if driving fast enough on a Jeep over the speed bumps and potholes, this is the spot to be. Approaching midnight, it's fully alive, bursting with energy and parking lot is crowded. Teenagers coming to spend their Friday nights. Locals seeking out a bite of something real to bind over. Friends coming to converse. And oddly, not a single tourist in sight. Despite its proximity to the airport, it is not a tourist trap by any means, which makes it even more of a find. Bebo's lechon is top grade. Succulent, fatty, with crispy skin. It is very, very good. How else can one describe it other than a paradise created by a once happy pig. The food was good but certainly not great. I had much better food on previous visits. We went by twice and did chicken one day, pork the other. Yellow rice was a little bland, pork was moist and delicious, and the chicken was as good as any other rotisserie I've had. White rice was NOT good at all. Not even close to being rated "ok", it was hard in some places and you can just tell it was left over from maybe the night before or longer. They're still opened 24 hrs a day. Seating has been cut down by more than 1/2, however, I didn't see there being an issue as most people were "take out" customers. read more

Not sure I understand the hype of this place. It cost us $20 for 1/4lb of ribs, 1/4 of lechon, 1 cup of arroz con gandules, 1 sweet potato and 1 can of soda. For the same price you can feed 2 people with fresh fish or juicy and tasty mofongo at other San Juan restaurants. The food itself was very, very greasy. Also, the pigeons/men gambling and drinking/flies are not the best atmosphere while eating next to the highway. We had to ask for napkins since the food was so oily, and you can ask for the 1 bottle of hot sauce they keep behind the counter- you'll need it. They are open 24/7 which is a bonus, and there's no waiting since the food is cooked and kept under heat lamps. read more

Ventured to Bebo's prior to heading back to the airport and it was our best meal we had in San Juan. They have a variety of meat options such as ribs (fall off the bone tender), chicken, smoked pork (amazing), sausage, and many other options that are sold by the half pound or pound. For those with a football player appetite like mine then I recommended a pound or two. Side options included pigeon peas and rice (which was great), plantain, Yuka, and other Caribbean favorites. Drink options are very limited but there is a McDonald's next door. The seating is outdoor and first come first serve for tables. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.
