The food was good, I've had better in nearby areas. People say the long lines must signify that the food is really good, but in reality its the slow workers. I mean SUPER slow, I waited 40 mins in line then once it was my turn to place my order it was another 25 minutes. I've never seen such slow customer service in my life. Really good Puerto Rican rotisserie/BBQ. Don't expect much of a restaurant but the food is delicious! Came here for lunch and ordered the chicken, ribs, and mamposteao rice. We visited Bebos last year while in San Juan. Let me start by saying this experience is not for the faint of heart. It is where the locals go. The food is local and delicious and plentiful and inexpensive. We tried one of everything under the heat lamp from blood sausage (which wasn't first time) and it was very well done but not something I prefer or enjoy eating. We had chicken and pork and rice and beans and boiled yucca. Four of us ate to our hearts content and had some soda and local beers and it was under 50. It is an adventure. It's under a roof but not not in a restaurant. It was later in the day when we were there and very busy. There were friendly neighborhood dogs, a number of birds who were looking for food to eat and a few bugs flying around. The people behind the counter are not the friendliest helpful maybe... we loved this adventure and can't wait to go again. A must if you wish to experience a true in San Juan. read more

If you're leaving the airport or on the way to the airport and want to get a quick bite this is an amazing bbq spot. Had the pernil, ribs, and roast chicken. The pernil and ribs were delish. The chicken was a but salty and dry. The sides: maduros, arroz con gandules, and yuca with onions were all very good. Really affordable. This might be my favorite restaurant. Anywhere. I don't live in PR, but when I come here I go to Bebo's at least twice every time. Best chicken on the planet, bar none. I keep trying to make arroz y gandules like Bebo's but I can't ever come close. Experiment around. The costillas (ribs) are good, my wife likes the casabe, but I think it's kind of bland and gross. The baked plantains are tasty. Just don't miss the chicken. Right across from the airport on the frontage road. If you're Norteamericano coming to PR, you'll definitely stand out a little here, this is mostly a locals' place. I was excited to try this place since I heard so much about it. Well we were highly disappointed with the food and the service. No one spoke good English and the one person who could understand it a little kept us waiting. Finally the young lady behind us spoke some English and helped us order. Since they know that a lot of their customers are from out of town, it would be nice if they would have a menu that listed their items with description in English. Once we got the food, we were disappointed. The ribs were very fatty and they didn't put bbq sauce on it, they just put a bottle of bbq sauce in the bag. We are in Puerto Rico now and thank God we found this place. Best BBQ in PR. My wife is Filipino and grew up eating lechon in thr Philipines and I have as we'll when visiting. This is great lechon and chicken to die for. We got extra rice to bring back for the morning as it was to die for. We have been back twice in two and will go again tonight. This food was fantastic. This is for sure a local place and if you are looking for fine dining - not your joint. There were many locals that were helpful and talkative in line and the service was fine. They understand English just fine however the language of pointing, head shakes of yes and no and numbers with your fingers work well too! This place is legit. We drove past it while picking up our rental car and there was a line so we decided to go back. When we came back 3 hours later there was still a line. They have no menu and no prices viewable which made it a little difficult but some helpful locals helped us through the process. The yucca was really good and authentic but a little oily. The BBQ was delicious especially the chicken. We ended up ordering enough food for 8 when there was only 4 of us. Their portions are really big. Would definite go back. My family and I found this place on yelp and thought we would give it a try. We arrived and proceed to make our way to the line. There is seating at this location but it's outside seating. The restaurant is covered but no air conditioning. The first line we waited on for about 25 minutes until we notice a separate line was forming across the way. So my husband and I made our way to that line. After another 30 minutes we were able to order our food. The remainder of my family stayed on the original line thinking we would order at the same time and be done so we could go back to our hotel and enjoy dinner . That wasn't the case. We had waited a total of an hour just to order food. Once my husband and I order food we went to check the status of the remaining family members who were still no where near the ordering window. My family continue to wait an additional 30 minutes to order, at this point our food is getting cold and my family is frustrated because we all have been waiting 1.5 hours for food. Finally my family gets to the front of ordering line , where they are informed they are out of rice. So now only half my family had food after waiting for so long. I gave the restaurant 2 stars because the food was good and we received a good portion of food but not worth the 1.5 hour wait. I would not return to this establishment. Not sure why the wait was so long. All the food is displayed in the front area ( easy access for staff ) looks like the staff just slowly moves thru out the restaurant. While I have had better bbq here in the states, Bebo's stood out for a number of things. First, the lechon. Similar to our cochon de lait here in Louisiana but with an entirely different array of seasoning, it was a taste of home and something new all at once. The 24 hour nature of this place proved helpful as my brother and I didn't finish renting our car until almost midnight, when any reasonable bbq restaurant would have been closed. Though I ordered in Spanish, I did overhear the servers speaking in English to some other guests which is contrary to what I read on some of the other reviews. The arroz con gandules was by far the best I had on the island. More impressive, You could get a massive spread of their delicious food for under $10. They get 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: one, the seating area is really dirty and not cleaned up very well or very often. Two, the lines can get super long and they tend to move very slowly. Servers appear to walk off for ten minutes at a time before remembering they had somebody waiting for an order. If these issues were resolved then I would give them 5 stars no problem. read more

This place was recommended by well....almost everyone. According to our taxi driver, Yelp, and others - we must try Bebo's. So, we did and we waited patiently in a long line of locals. This line was painfully long simply due to slow workers and terrible logistics. I honestly have not seen such terrible logistics before. 5+ different workers will take each take an order, go to the back room to get the meat, come back to get your money (cash only), then all meet at a single cashier to finish up the transaction. They all looked like unhappy chickens running around without heads. We ordered a half chicken, small order of pork ribs, yellow rice, and plantains. The portions are generous and prices are affordable. The rotisserie chicken was good but definitely not the best. I have definitely tasted comparable, if not better, in Los Angeles. The pork was average and was too greasy for me to enjoy. This is near the rental car places (Payless and Thrifty) and on the way to the airport. I wasn't particularly impressed and I wouldn't say it was worth the wait. But it's 24 hours and a good bargain for the quantity (not quality). read more

So on a Saturday at 12 pm we join the line. We speak very little Spanish and they speak very little English but to hell with translation when all you have to do is look through the glass and see goodness of chicken ribs plantains yucca and fried sweet potato staring back at you ... I approach.. "Hello umm I mean hola. umm hablamos English? " ... The lady behind the counter chuckles and says yes then starts to speak to me in spanish but oh hell I was able to say pollo yucca platanos maduros and uno " grande frita ball next to the maduros" (* smh a.k.a fried sweet potato) . ha ha I tried; thanks to ordering experience from the latin restaurants in bushwick brooklyn. If you get the yucca please get the onlons on top... even if you hate onions take it off . the oil from the onions is sooo good. the chicken was everything. The best food I had in PR. THE BEST!... This place is a hidden gem! Right off the highway but don't trust Siri GPS because it will take you to the right street but not the right location. You just need to drive down a little further to the McDonalds and you will see it. It is open 24/7! The food was absolutely delicious. I am so glad we did some research on good places to eat when in PR! They do take card and cash so don't fret. The neighborhood it sits in seems kind of sketchy but it is well worth it! We ordered the roasted pork, sausage, rice and beans, ribs and roasted chicken! Spent about 30 for 4 people but we had so much left over that we had it for lunch the following day. Guess what we decided for dinner the next day? Same place! They don't speak very much English but we told them we spoke very little Spanish and the lady at the counter went and grabbed a guy to help us that did speak English. Made it very easy! Fantastico! Excelente! I had lechon (roast suckling pig), and my husband had pollo asado (roast chicken). Both were great. We also had a side of tostones (fried mashed plantain) and rice w beans. So good. Dinner with the 2 sides and 2 grande Presidentes was $30. Line was long, and they don't speak much English, so ask someone to order for you if you don't speak Spanish. We highly recommend.
