She has a private room which helps if you don't want the extra noice from a normal salon. Next she walked me through regarding what I wanted and what she recommended. I loved how she explained everything and knew what would work and what wouldn't. She is very sweet and kind, and makes you feel like you've been going with her for years. I searched through the Sola Salon Studios directory and found Brooke - Salon Obscura. After following her on Instagram for a few months, I booked an appointment. I was admittedly a little nervous going in to my appointment (and probably sounded a little bit crazy because of it lol) but as soon as I started chatting with Brooke about what I had done with my hair previously and my current hair wants/needs, I knew I was in good hands. Her salon is clean and cozy, which is a plus. We watched Schitt's Creek while she did my hair and now I'm addicted My hair came out so much better than I expected! Brooke took my ideas and put her own twist on it and it came out AMAZING! She's a color specialist, so she definitely knows what she's doing. Her pricing is reasonable, especially because of how quick she is (it took my previous hair gal 6+ hours to do my hair and Brooke about 3.5 hours), but keep in mind that reasonable doesn't mean cheap! For this level of expertise, expect to pay for quality work -- especially if you're getting multiple services done like I was. Her vibe is always upbeat, fun, and genuine. She made me feel instantly comfortable from day one. One of the things I appreciated the most was how honest she was. If I came in with an idea that wasn't right for my hair type or health, she talked me through it and help me find something fun and realistic. This was important for me because I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to any of that stuff, but I always still want to have a nice hair. She even was able to do the hair for my sister's wedding!
