A little over six months ago I had a 'wannabe Khaleesi a-la Game of Thrones' moment, and had my fine, natural blonde hair bleached by a local "Bumble and Bumble salon owner" (NOT Tiffany at Sage). She charged me obscene prices for trims and root touch ups, and took it upon herself to not just retouch my roots, but pull the bleach down through the roots each time. Within 2 months I found myself in dire need of help. My hair's porosity had been completely compromised, chemically cut, and it was falling/breaking all the way around the crown. I had cut my own bangs in hopes of salvaging the front, and gave up hope on saving it at all. Then I made a desperate plea to my Facebook gal pals, begging for references to Long Beach hair stylists who may be willing/able to help rescue what was left of my tresses... To make a long story short, I wound up sifting through way too many referrals and decided that one stood out: Tiffany Sidwell at Sage Salon. She'd been a friend's hairstylist for years, so I messaged her immediately. Within hours Tiffany responded with suggestions on what to do to condition my damaged hair in an attempt to save it until I could get in to see her at the salon. I wound up at Sage within a week, and not only do I love Sage (it's a cozy little spot, kept clean and well decorated, not to mention the girls always have good music playing, I love that) but I can't say enough about Tiffany! She SAVED my hair! After sitting down and explaining what had happened to my hair, Tiffany gave me advice and basically kept me from crying about the entire ordeal; convinced me not to cut it into a pixie or shave it off, chopped it into a bob/gave it some shape and sent me home feeling much better about everything. We talked about how I might not be "OMG I LOVE MY HAIR **takes selfies**posts to all social media**" excited about my haircuts for six months to a year. And that even though I'm not a fan of layers, I'm have to deal with those for a while too. She told me that the growing process was long, but that she was in it with me. I woke up the next day and wanted it shorter, so she squeezed me in (on a Sunday, talk about excellent customer service). Needless to say, I've gone back for another cut since, and need to text her to make another appointment ASAP.
