I have been told by more than one hair stylist, I have the hair on my head of three people. It's the truth. I have a lot of hair. It is very dense and it not easy to cut. Therefore, when I find a good stylist, I stick with them. Jennifer Hartenhoff has been my Aveda stylist for many years now. I used to go to her for years at another Aveda salon in Huntington Beach and when she left that studio to move to this one in Seal Beach, I followed her. It then moves on to neck and shoulder massage before moving over to basin to get your hair washed and conditioned. While the conditioner is working, you get a hand and forearm Aveda lotion massage, also. It is so relaxing. By this time, I feel very relaxed and mellow and could take a nap. So very nice :) Jennifer has been cutting my hair for years. She is a master stylist with Aveda. She listens to me as a client, and I appreciate the time she takes to expertly cut and style my hair. Before my mother became an art teacher, she was a beautician, so I can appreciate what being a good stylist entails. I have always colored my own hair at home, but Jennifer is an expert colorist, also. Walking into Sanctuary, there is coffee, tea or water and cookies available as you wait for your appointment. They offer services for men and women. Every time I have been here, I have seen both male and female clients having their hair worked on here. OMG I love Anita. I broke my arm so cant blow my hair dry. I found this through Yelp and the salon is very close to where i live. I went in and she gave me a lovely blow dry. She noticed that i needed my roots done and I mentioned that i use henna. Most stylists i have been to will not touch henna, but she said i could bring my henna in and she would do it for me. I was thrilled. I took the henna i use in, she applied it, then shampoo and blow dry and i feel like myself again. I will go back to Anita even after my arm has healed! read more

Stephanie Vallejo is the best! In the past I had gone to another Aveda salon wanted to add highlights to my light brown hair and they turned it yellow!! After that I thought I would never do highlights again. At first I just got my cuts done with Stephanie. She always does a fantastic job and gives me exactly what I want. Eventually I decided to try to go blonde again and Stephanie is a coloring wizard! She gets the perfect shade every time without fail. She has a great eye for color and for style. I first came to her with long hair, but wanted a cute, short hair look. After showing her a few pictures, she customized a cut that I loved, works great with my hair texture and that I could style myself. I love my color stylist at this place. Shantell does an amazing job of coloring my hair. My niece cuts my hair so I can't comment on cut - just color. She foils and paints on 3 colors of brown/blonde and I love the results. I just moved to ca a few years ago and have been all over town looking for the right salon. I do believe I've found it! The salon is also an Aveda salon which I also love. The Aveda products are expensive, but well worth it in my opinion. read more
