I get my hair done about 3 times a month. While all the ladies do a great job, my girl Lilly is amazing! My curls are always perfect and with a little TLC, I can keep my blow out for about 4-5 days. Sorry to say that I was not impressed with my blowout. It was just OK. I've had so many others that feel and look so much better afterward. Also, I like the style to last two or three days, within reason, of course ...there's always weather issues and things like that to take into account. I was drawn to Blo Salon because of the 4.8 rating and booked a 10:30am appointment on September 19. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from start to finish. When I arrived, I was left waiting and then taken to the wash station by someone who barely spoke to me. I had just had surgery and came in already self conscious about my extra long, curly, textured hair. I apologized to the girl and said it is very tangled. Instead of sensitivity, I received a dull wash and massage with zero engagement. I was then moved to another chair, which initially gave me hope because I saw the stylist before me create a beautiful look. But as soon as she started brushing my hair, she handed me a look book with no real consultation. At one point, she even asked if my hair was "normally this matted" a question that was tactless at best, humiliating at worst. To make matters worse, I overheard her and another stylist whispering in Spanish, complaining and making fun of my hair. The service itself lacked both technique and care. No product was used on my textured hair during the blow dry (something any professional should know is essential). When I asked for oil because my hair needs it she resisted and acted annoyed. Eventually, she applied two pumps of product, only to the ends, leaving most of my hair untreated. Unsurprisingly, the moment I stepped outside, my blowout frizzed up exactly as I warned it would. This isn't my first blowout, but it's the first time I left looking worse than when I arrived, feeling disrespected, and having paid $89 plus a 22% tip (only because detangling my hair deserved acknowledgment). By the next morning, despite wrapping and protecting it overnight, my hair was unsalvageable. As someone who works in hospitality as a general manager, I can confidently say this experience could have been saved with communication and listening. It's not the client's job to make the stylist comfortable it's the stylist's responsibility to make the client feel cared for. Blo Salon, please take this feedback seriously. Look at your lower-star reviews many of them echo the same issue. If your team isn't trained to handle textured hair, own that, learn, and grow from it. But do not put clients through an experience like this again. read more

Quick and easy blow out bar on Katella across the street from the race track. I want to say Bre was the one who washed and styled my hair in about 45 minutes. She was super nice. I had several options in the book to choose from. I went with beach curls and they came out great. The process was easy. I made an appointment the same day online. It is a little pricey and the shampoo was short. They offer add ons such as scalp massage, deep conditioning, etc. at a higher cost. I think my stylist was inexperienced. I get traditional round brush blowouts often and this was a subpar blowout. Pros: - nice and clean facility - easy booking - lots of availability Cons: - My stylist's acrylic nails were at least 1 inch long. This was particularly evident and uncomfortable as she attempted to wash my scalp. Due to the density of my hair and the length of her nails, her fingertips never touched my scalp, resulting in an incomplete wash. I could tell my scalp felt oily as she was drying my hair. - Too heavy on the root product. I'm used to my hair being soft and bouncy after my blowouts. It felt sticky and held in position despite not using hairspray at the end. - stylist inconsistency. Something like a round brush blowout should be taught and standardized. I felt like one of my friends did my hair, but I had to pay at the end. I might return because they are so close to my house, but will request a different stylist. read more
