Worth the drive.... and make this your first stop because it may end up being the only stop you need. They have more dresses in this store then people in the town it is in!!!! But THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF! I mean, someone has even written a book about it, and this charming place deserves it. Ok, yes, I'm a bride, and I found my dress here - why wouldn't I give it five stars? I'm a yelper first, though, damn it! A million choices, a great staff that really listens to you and knows their stuff (after trying on 3 dresses of our choices and talking about what I liked and didn't like, my sales girl grabbed a dress... or should I say *the* dress... and asked me to try it on!), and definitely fairly priced. My fourth dress, less then an hour, and I was happy as a clam. I wanted to make alterations to the dress and while they don't do them there, they helped to show me what I'd need to do and even removed some of the beading themselves so I didn't have to pay extra fees to have them removed by the designer when I ordered it. I've heard all these horror stories about ordering your dress and putting down a down payment and the store not ordering until they had to. They told me my dress would be in end of July and it arrived two months early in May. Clearly they get their orders in and their dresses to you as soon as possible, no funny business!! My fabric didn't arrive by the fault of the designer that they had ordered from and not by their fault, but they still offered to ship it to me FOR FREE. I even ordered some extra things from them that weren't in stock and they said they'd lump it in with the fabric when they shipped it. They gave me $200 off my veil for purchasing a dress with them, and then 10% off further accessories. Lots of attention from knowledgeable, trustworthy staff, a selection of dresses that will blow you away, a hands on experience picking out your dress, and leaving like you didn't just get completely ripped off definitely earns Becker's and enthusiastic 5 Stars!!! I'm excited to go back with my sister to help her pick out a dress for HER wedding. But first, lets just hope my fiance loves my dress as much as I do... :) read more

If you're sitting here wondering whether or not to go to Becker's Bridal as part of your dress buying experience, just make an appointment and go -- it'll be well worth it. I made an appointment over the phone about 4 weeks in advance, and immediately got an e-mail confirmation a week in advance. I would recommend making your appointments before 11 am if at all possible if you're going on the weekend. We were there on a Saturday and while it certainly was busy I never felt like I was getting my consultant's less than full attention. Once inside we met Penny, who was so nice and made the day feel so special. She asked what feel we were going for, what dress inspiration pictures I had, and what my budget was. She directed us toward the dresses to start pulling things that looked good and then she'd help pull some things once she got an idea of what I was looking for. I tried on three dresses pulled by myself and my family and nothing was really hitting home, but the entire time that she wasn't lacing me into a dress she was looking for a dress that they had received at 4PM the night before for me to try on. I did and it happened to be THE dress. I went in the Magic Room for the bridal moment and Penny pulled the perfect veil to go with it, never pushing me to make a decision, never prodding for feedback, and always showing her experience in helping ladies find the perfect dress. TIPS and Good things to Know: - There are great deals for first time brides, so I highly advise you to start your search here -- chances are it'll end here too. - If you're worried about them having a variety of choices in your size, don't be. - The dresses are there for you to touch, but as a result you can't bring food or drinks (like champagne!) inside. There are a few things that you expect from a bridal shop when you come in for an appointment that you scheduled ahead of time. You expect a room in one of the nicer areas to be reserved. You expect an attentive salesperson who is willing to listen to what you want and try to help you find something within your budget. I had heard many great things from several friends about your store and was excited. Though the drive was a little longer than I would want, I was excited to see what your store had to offer. When I arrived before my appointment, we were greeted and checked in. Our consultant went through the store's layout and took me and my group back to the very back corner of the store, into a small room and were told that we could just go pick out dresses. While this was nice initially, we were not given guidance in regards to dresses that were along the lines of what I was looking for. I was never asked once what my budget was, what I was looking for or any other details other than the date of my wedding. About 15 minutes after getting our "tour," another bride was placed in the room next to mine. Her consultant showed interest in -her- and asked all the pertinent details. This consultant also gave me some support when I was looking for opinions which was nice. My consultant, while moving the dresses I didn't like away, she didn't assist much more and ended up talking to my groom's mother more than she spoke with me. While I understand that the stock for plus sized bridal is going to be limited, she didn't even think about pulling smaller stock along the lines of what I was looking for that could be sized up if I loved it. After 2 hours, I walked out of the store hot (the room was stifling and I was sweating), frustrated and tired with no dress ordered. My party then went across the street to look at mother's and bridesmaids dresses. The saleswoman who greeted us, while was initially very nice, she got a little pushy about me not ordering a dress today. Choosing a wedding dress is not a small decision and I was already frustrated enough about the experience that I didn't want to talk about it more. Truthfully, I rather of had her and her pushiness than a consultant who didn't care about making the sale. I was fully prepared to spend over $1000 in your store today and I was going to pay in full if the right dress presented itself. Unfortunately, I felt that the lack of service and lack of care for me and my group was not worth the over 1 hour drive each way. We will be taking our business elsewhere and I hope that your staff becomes more attentive. While the stock for brides under a size 10 is ample, I feel that I got the shunt because I am a plus sized bride and proud of my size. read more

Our consultant had what she called "her process" and in the end, I didn't get the experience I wished for. I only tried on 5 dresses and the consultant made me feel like I couldn't try on more dresses. It's worth the long drive to get there! Unbelievably GOOD service! My consultant Jessica gave me and my family plenty of space to shop and pick out things we wanted to try on, but was always attentive and close by. Several other places left us to fend for ourselves and it seemed like we were spending more time tracking down the sales girl than finding me a dress. Jessica was the complete opposite. I told her my budget and she did an amazing job of showing me several dresses within that range, taking my shape and size into consideration when doing so. She ended up finding THE dress for me, and it was something I never would have considered on my own. Never once did I feel pressured to buy or feel like I was being rushed along (even on a busy Saturday). The entire experience was pleasant and relaxed. After placing my order I contacted the store a handful of times requesting information about my dress and I was always responded to politely and promptly. One e-mail was even returned after 10 minutes! Picking up my dress was equally as nice. I was allowed to try it on and ask questions before taking it home with me. Although I went in with grim hope because I had tried on so many dresses previously, Brittney, my consultant, took on the challenge of finding me a dress. I could not believe the large selection of dresses that were available! Even though I had already narrowed down what I was looking for, I was still able to find over ten dresses that fit my requirements and were within budget. Brittney was helpful, enthusiastic, and flexible. I had fallen in love with two different dresses and tried each one on multiple times. A group of us--my two daughters, myself and a good friend--were in Becker's last Saturday and purchased a bridal dress for my daughter. We had not intended to make a purchase on our first day looking, but wanted just to get an idea of what styles, colors and looks complemented our daughter best. Becker's exceeded our best expectations not only by the amazing selection of gowns, but most especially by the spectacular service we received. Lindsey worked patiently but thoroughly to maximize each dress--pinning, folding and tucking so that we could see the benefits and drawbacks of each style. She understood immediately what our daughter was looking for and pulled perfect selections for her. Lindsey's adding the accessory of beaded capped sleeves to a strapless gown made a beautiful dress become an extraordinary one. They are finishing a renovation and expansion of the salon and there were ample dressing rooms, mirrors with pedestal stands, and now two "magic rooms"--or rooms that are have mirrors on all walls to see how the favorite dresses looks from all angles. We had looked earlier in the day at another salon in Plymouth, and received good service, but at Becker's with Lindsey, we received exceptional assistance. Furthermore, the extraordinary selection of small sample sizes made choosing the dress much easier because we could clearly see how the dress would look on our petite daughter. In addition, they have many plus-size samples for generously sized brides. Although we traveled from the Ann Arbor area, the 1 1/2 hour trip was absolutely worth the time and fuel. A friend and I had looked at all the salons in Ann Arbor and Plymouth before we went out on last Saturday, and none had even close to the selection that Becker's has --over 3000 sample gowns! Furthermore, there were many dresses in our price range ,and their prices overall are comparable to other salons and online prices. This was an wonderful experience. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. Christa was my consultant and she was truly wonderful. Here are some tips and how Becker's made everything fun and stress free from beginning to end: 1 - Make an appointment: I booked about 1.5 months out and made a 10am Saturday appointment. If you can go on a weekday, that's probably best. But going early on a Saturday was fine too. I never felt crowded or ignored. 2 - Show up early: You get an hour and a half with your consultant. So don't waste that time with looking at gowns. Come early and start pulling. I came at 9:40am for my 10am and they were ready for me - so you never know, you could get bonus time! I was trying on dresses right at 10. 3 - Come with ideas and a budget: I had about 8 photos of dresses I liked to give them an idea. Then I told them my budget. Based on the styles I liked, she asked for a bit of flexibility. She was very honest in saying that she could find something within in my budget, but she could bring more options if I went up about $200. I really appreciated her honesty and the fact that she asked rather than bring dresses outside my price range. 4 - Say why: Love a dress they show you? Hate one? Tell them specifically why. It helps them narrow down what to show you so you're making the most efficient use of everyones time. 5 - TRUST your consultant: I told Christa that I didn't want strapless. Luckily she knew better than to discount it. She brought a few and offered to add straps as well. Go figure, I end up finding a strapless gown that became my dream dress. Overall it was a blast. If you live anywhere up to 2 (or more ) hours away from Fowler, MI, I would say Becker's Bridal is totally worth the drive. Don't be concerned when you see nothing but corn fields and hillbillies a for miles and miles...just keep driving. Also don't expect to find a Starbucks or Tim Horton's anywhere near the bridal shop (my sister made this mistake and she was not a happy camper at 8 in the morning when she had to get coffee from the gas station across the street). Once you've finally arrived, you'll be in all your bridal bliss. The bridal shop is totally updated with a girly vibe and the bathrooms are nice too. You check in and they give you an assistant for 2 hours to try on wedding dresses. Everyone was really friendly. You do have to have an appointment, so don't just show up. I had Penny for the morning and she was great. She brought me back to talk about styles I like, and we got straight to business. She takes your budget very seriously and She is awesome at picking dresses for you bc I ended up buying the first dress that SHE chose, and it was under budget. The inventory at Becker's Bridal is huge and this is why so many brides drive from far away. To top it off, if you Instagram a picture at Becker's Bridal, you get free "cups" (aka boob inserts) which most brides will need to fill out the wedding dress. I love my wedding dress that I found at Becker's! I had been to one bridal gown shop before and found some dresses I liked but nothing amazing. At Becker's the very first dress I tried on I fell in love with, and even after walking through the ENTIRE store I could not find anything that could compete with it. My consultant Gigi was so great and down to earth. She helped make what could have been a very overwhelming process with so many dresses into a fun, easy experience. We focused on only 5 dresses at first, and when I still loved the first one at the end of those but was worried I found it too quickly, she patiently walked through the entire store and all of the sizes with me, pointing out dresses I might like and asking if there was a chance I might like any of them more than the dress I was wearing. I said no to every single one of them, which is how I ended up in the Magic Room with my dress and a veil and a hairpiece with her setting the scene with me walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my fiancé, and I never thought I would cry over a dress, but I cried in that moment because it was all suddenly so real. The added bonus was the $200 discount I got on an accessory, which made my beautiful veil totally in reach. And when I came back to pick up my dress and wanted to also buy a hairpiece, they gave me a discount on that too. Everyone is super nice and friendly and accommodating. The shop is super cute. It's really nice to be able to try on dresses in your size instead of clipping everything and not knowing how it will ultimately fit. If you're a bride-to-be in Michigan, or close to Michigan border, do not pass up the absolute best gown searching experience right in the random country town of Fowler. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but Becker's is a boundless boutique inside with an energetic and passionate staff and an astounding amount of gorgeous unbelievably low priced dresses. I was lucky enough to be helped by Danyel, who listened to my ideas, made me feel 100% comfortable stripping down into panties only, and let my girls and I have so much fun trying to find THE dress. This is one of the things I loved most about Becker's - they let you actually touch and pull down the dresses you want with your close family and friends, with no real limit - just a suggested amount to narrow down your search. Danyel listened to me so well that she ended up being the one to find THE dress. And yes, I had my moment I never thought would happen to me - the tears came flowing down my cheeks as I modeled my dream Maggie Sottero. Becker's was also great about keeping touch with me through out the ordering process. I will recommend Becker's 1,000,000x over to every newly engaged girl - I had the best experience here, with no pressure, and I felt like a princess the entire time. It's what every girl deserves! I ended up buying my dress from this shop, which I now regret. I was in between two sizes when they measured me (all of my measurements except for one put me in the lower of the two sizes), and the salesperson (not sure of his name) insisted I choose the larger size. I tried on a similar style in that same size (by the same designer of course), and it was enormous on me! I took photos of myself in the dress, which I later showed to a seamstress, and she was shocked they would recommend getting the larger size - she said it would have been a nightmare to alter. They also wrote something about how the "bride was insistent on the smaller size" on my contract, which simply wasn't true. Fortunately, I did choose the next size down, but I'm baffled as to why someone with supposed knowledge and experience in this industry would have recommended otherwise. read more

I had heard such amazing things and read such great views about this place. My mom was in town from overseas since she's in the military and we actually had no other appointments besides Becker's. My stylist was very unfriendly and honestly just straight up uncomfortable to be around. My mom and bridesmaids all felt this way as well. She was not very helpful at all and kept pulling dresses in styles I did not feel were me or what I wanted. I wasn't in love with any of the dresses and the experience was just awful. They were gorgeous dresses but you can't expect someone to buy when you don't even make them feel comfortable. I'm not a large girl by any means either. I'm in the smaller sizes but it was uncomfortable as in she didn't take us seriously, she didn't know how to properly pin dresses to make them fit if they were too large. In the middle of my appointment while the stylist was grabbing dresses, I made the decision that I wanted to leave and go somewhere else. And I found a gown for $800 cheaper than the two I liked at Becker's and the experience was much better elsewhere. read more

On the day I found my wedding dress it was a Wednesday and I had no intention of buying a dress that day but the service and the dress were an amazing combination. They told me they would hold my dress since I live in North Carolina until I could come pick it up. Fast forwarded to today, I came in from North Carolina and had an appointment to pick up my dress at 3pm. I understand it is a Saturday and they are busy but I have purchased my dress and made an appointment. I was put in a room upstairs with no light and went through about 4 different people that did not help me put on my dress correctly or help carry it to see myself in a 360 room. I couldn't tell you how frustrating it was having my mother and 80 year old Grandmother have to look at my dress for about 15 minutes just to get rushed out of a room with no light. I paid went on my way and would never recommend my friends or family going there due to the poor customer service after they collect your money. At least my dress is beautiful and I have an amazing alterations person who makes me feel important. read more

This review is based off of Becker's formal store, across the street from the Bridal shop. They do mostly prom/bridesmaid dresses. I went in with my mother, looking for a maid of honor dress for myself and a mother of the bride dress for my mom. Staff were very friendly and allowed us the freedom to walk around ourselves and look at the dresses. The store itself doesn't have the most clean upscale feel to it, but my real issue was with the dresses. Walking around, I noticed several dresses on the racks that had seams torn and falling apart, or were torn/damaged in some other way. I understand that these dresses are the try-on ones and if purchased, you would order it and not receive that one off the rack (I hope), but if I noticed these issues from just walking around and not even pulling the dresses out I have no doubt a salesperson could have done the same, pulled the dresses with tears and repair them before putting them out again. Otherwise it just makes the shop appear sloppy and cheap. Two stars because the ladies were friendly and not pushy at all. But after seeing the lack of attention to detail in the shop I can promise I won't be giving my business to Becker's for my MOH dress, or my own wedding dress sometime in the future. read more

I checked out Becker's Bridal even though it was an hour drive round trip for me on the recommendation of a good friend. When I called to make an appointment, I was asked if I was sure I wanted to come in 45 minutes before closing and was also told twice to try and get there as early as possible to maximize my time since doors closed at 7. This struck me as a little odd because it almost seemed as though they didn't want me to come in. I responded that I understood and that I would be in and out by the time they closed. I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early and was guided to the wall of dresses in the main floor that were in my size as I waited for Danielle, the bridal consultant who would be helping me. I didn't have to wait very long, and I actually liked that I got a chance to look through dresses myself. I was there to specifically try on Mori Lee dresses to see how they fit and get an idea of my size because I wasn't planning on ordering a dress (7-month engagement makes it 1 month too short for custom orders). I picked out a few dresses and headed to the dressing room. I HATE trying on dresses, so I'm pretty quick about getting them on and off, so I was able to try on around 8 dresses in my hour there. They definitely have a wide selection of designers, and the prices are what you would expect of such big names. I was keeping my eye on the time, but still felt a little rushed as Danielle came to collect gowns I wasn't considering. I'd get one off and the next one on, and she was there to take it back to the showroom if I didn't want it. She does know her gowns, though. I described a certain dress I had tried on elsewhere for her, and she went and brought back the exact dress. My friend and I left at exactly 7:03, so I suppose I am grateful they didn't kick us out at EXACTLY 7pm. Actually, I think there might have been one other bride still inside, but I don't know if she was there for a fitting or simply for trying on dresses. I never make reviews, but I had to with this place. I am the maid-of-honor for my sister's up coming wedding and we have had numerous bridal appointments at different stores. And Becker's was BY FAR the worst experience. Everyone in there seemed as if they didn't want to be there and did not act excited at all to see our bride. Our consultant even told our bride that she did not like working at Becker's. I understand if you don't like your job, but my sister was ecstatic to be potentially finding her dress and the vibe of the consultant ruined it for her. Although she probably found her dress there, she is considering not getting it based on the way we were treated alone--even if she is IN LOVE with it. However, the overall selections of dresses was great and the layout was very appealing. Nevertheless, would it hurt ONE PERSON in the store to say congratulations to my sister?! Both of my Future Sister-In-Laws and my best friend had purchased their dresses there and raved about the service. I was with my best friend there when she got hers so I knew first hand about the great, personalized service. I was assisted by Danyel who by the way is fantastic! She listened to what I wanted in a dress and was mindful of my price point. By that I mean she consulted me when she pulled a dress that was a little more than my budget to make sure it was ok. She's great! I couldn't have asked for more for my experience at Becker's. Every single person there is extremely helpful! Of course I walked out of Becker's a happy bride and had a successful day!
