First off, disregard all of the negative reviews from folks who didn't get the grade they wanted. Being a regular customer I can tell you you that sometimes I don't get the grade I wanted but once you look close enough you realize they were spot on. Beckett's grading has been consistent, they have always been responsive, and I mean lighting fast responsive, the turn around time is some of the industries best, and their holders are cleaner and thicker than PSA or others. We paid for the 45-business-day service, which put the expected completion date at Monday, June 8, 2026. I have reached out multiple times requesting an update but have not received a response explaining the delay. If it was possible to give ZERO stars I would. This is specifically for customer service and Alex Collins. For several years now Alex has called to renew my Online Price Guide. I told him no I did not want to in 2024. They renewed anyway in 2025. I sent an email stating do not renew. They renew again in 2026. There is literally no human that responds to emails or can answer a call. What used to be a reputable company is a complete joke. The entire Sports/Gaming card industry is just one gigantic money laundering scam and Beckett is far from innocent. It is shameful how unethical businesses are everywhere and Beckett is a prime example. read more

Horrendous business practices, they damaged my card by packaging it incorrectly and refused to even file a FedEx claim without me sending the card back to them. Why would I send the card back to you that you already demonstrated you don't know how to ship properly? I also reached out to the founder (Beckett himself) and he was extremely ornery and also no help. They reused my card armor (why?) and double rubber banded it causing it to not only buckle but crush the card inside. They still refuse to take accountability, not even refunding the grading or shipping fees. STAY AWAY I was inclined as a new collector and grader to go to Beckett. I've now graded with all three major companies for sports cards, and I can say that Beckett stands out as the worst of all of them by a mile. First, their timelines are ridiculous. Their site says 45+ days for Base Service. My order was received 10/23. I reached out via the web form around 12/7 with a friendly message asking on the status and saying it was my first order and I was excited about Beckett. No Response whatsoever. When I took to social media to get an answer a week later, commenting on one of their posts, I was told to dm them. I did so, and was informed shortly that the timeline was 45 BUSINESS DAYS, and that my order was projected to be done mid-January. If I wanted to cancel, the charge is $2 per card AND shipping/insurance. I was also told that this would be deducted from the money I had paid them when I submitted the order. For 42 cards this cancellation fee came out to $195.99! That's more than $110 for something I shipped them for $6.38 from Austin, TX to Plano, TX. This was also not deducted at promised, a new $195.99 charge was levied. When I went on to social media to air my grievances, I was summarily blocked on both my business account and personal account. My request for a receipt for the shipping was ignored. TLDR: Don't use Beckett if you want to be treated fairly as a consumer and receive your cards back in a reasonable amount of time. read more

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's had an absolute nightmare of an experience from this joke of a company. If you're looking to get cards or whatever professionally graded, this is NOT the company to use. Let's start at the beginning of MY experience. I sent 10 cards in January which were received from the company on the 27th of January. 1 card out of the 10 was to be verified for an autograph, which was selected in the beginning of the process on their website in the original order. They sent me and email, by which WENT TO SPAM, and I didn't see the email till April. No calls or any sort of reach out from their part. When I email them back about the card in question, I thought there was progress being made, until I flat out get ignored in an email chain by the first customer service rep that I encountered with. About 2 months go by without any communication from Beckett or anyone in customer service. So I try and find a number to call, which, the one on their website will NEVER go through to a customer service rep. So if you need to call, you'll need to message them on instagram and hope they reply back. But at the bottom of this, I'll provide said number to use. After I finally get ahold on the phone with someone, I proceed to email that rep, and think ok, once again progress. Nope. Shortly after that, that representative ignores my emails flat out. This happens 2 more times until I'm fed up, in in JULY I tell them I'm fed up and want them to flat out ship my cards back. They said it might take a week or so before it gets out and actually shipped. Well guess what, no email confirmations or anything for 2 weeks till I call back, again. Then guess what. THEY STILL HAD MY CARDS. Unbelievable. On the final phone call, they were able to get my cards in hand, and after telling them I need them to ship my cards back with full refund, they are actually competent to actually get them shipped within 24 hours. Just an unbelievable experience that hopefully others stay away from. Absolutely terrible company, absolutely terrible customer service. I used this company for the 1st time with an SGA signed jersey that I personally handed to SGA at Game 2 of the 2025 NBA Finals. Two months later & now out $82, I got a letter stating that the autograph is not authentic. Extremely disappointed in their services as this is one of my most treasured possessions as a die-hard OKC Thunder fan and was hoping the authentication would add to the display I have for it. This place is a total scam. I have never had such a hard time dealing with a company before in my life. I signed up for a subscription based on the promotion of free gradings of six cards. I spent $350. Then Beckett sent me the supposed "gift code" for the grading, but it didn't work. I tried many times. With no success, I reached out to customer service. That was a total waste. Redirection of voice messages, no response to multiple emails - just utter silence. As a last resort, I am now putting the whole matter into dispute with the credit card company. They are so stupid for not responding since I was planning on sending them thousands of dollars of cards for grading. Now it will go to PSA and SGC. Took an item here that was already authenticated by PSA/DNA, with sticker and card and everything. They come back to me and tell me it's fake and that "PSA knows nothing about entertainment signatures". I ask them in their opinion who the top 3 COA companies are, and he responds JSA, PSA, and Beckett. Yet an item already authenticated by the top company gets failed by them? Sorry but I'll take my business elsewhere. I sent in a Messi autograph card picture piro to buying to the card just to make sure it would pass. they state 24/48 hours as I even emailed and asked which they said the same. I asked the seller for that time frame so I could have it checked and here we are triple that time frame and nothing from Beckett. I explained to them this in the ori order and even that I left Psa to try they out but nothing. I've sent 3 emails and not a single reply. At this point I will not be using Beckett and I see nothing but them going under in the future because they don't have anything to offer. I send my cards in for 20 day grading i understand with boom in cards craze . This may be delayed, but Jesus. I send my card in November 13 2020 and haven't received any update besides the out dates website. They said they haven't even started grading them yet. I sent cards into PSA in February 2021 and they started grading them already . I understand Beckett's grading process is better, and it takes time to make sure everything's perfect however why even put 20 day grading if it's not even close. I reach out to Beckett Rep (ANNA ALMADEN) multiple time and try to see wants going on and she offers me no help or even human decency she just says if you don't want to wait for grading we can send them back like yeah I wAited 10 months just to say ship them back ungraded what a clown . What type of customer services it that. She obviously has no care for this Buisness and doesn't respect owners . I submitted over $2,000 value in a handful of cards to Beckett for grading. I was notified that the package arrived, but no cards were inside. This package was packed very securely and the packing materials did arrive inside, so the box did not break open. This is not a review blaming Beckett for losing or stealing my cards (maybe they did, maybe they didn't). But this is a review on the sickening, horrible customer service I have received upon being alerted of my missing cards. I was notified by Mike Gardner who is supposedly a Regional Sales Manager. He gave me the courtesy of informing me about this devastating news in no more than a quickly forwarded email, stating my cards did not arrive and to file a claim with UPS. By the way, I saw by the forwarded email that Mike Gardner was alerted of this 5 days before he told me. So this was clearly not even an urgent concern of his. Mike never gave me & my wife the courtesy of even a phone call, didn't answer our phone calls or call us back and respond to voicemail. As such, I continued to send him emails about this...what is being done on Beckett's end to investigate this? Could they have been misplaced/lost, mixed up with another order, stolen by someone on their end? Mistakes happen and I deserve to have it looked into (and of course I did also file a claim with UPS and they are also looking into it and take it very seriously, unlike Beckett). Mike's only response in regard to all of the above was that there is nothing to investigate. This is how a regional sales manager treats his customers. Once again, not once did I blame Beckett for any wrongdoing but there was an absolute lack of customer care and concern to this matter when a very large amount in value of cards went missing and it would take very little effort to ask around about it internally in good faith. I will stick with PSA and CGC for card grading (I also sent a separate package to PSA at the same time I sent the package to Beckett that arrived just fine). My package arrived on 12/1. The inventory sheet was marked on 12/3. Mike Gardner was notified on 12/5. I was notified on 12/9. There are A LOT of gaps in this timeline. I want Beckett to take this VERY seriously. They need to investigate this matter internally. Review security footage, interview whoever "MT" is that signed the inventory sheet on 12/3 that I included in my package. What was going on with the package between 12/1 and 12/3? And between 12/3 when it was at least opened and 12/5 when my cards were reported missing? read more

I wanted to do a walk-in submission. I was no; they do not allow it by an employee. Mind you, this persons information given to me meant I needed to ship cards there. Well shipping my cards there & back cost $3,000.00 for shipping insurance!!!! Mind you I just saw someone post on Twitter about doing a walk-in submission & pickup. Great service for getting collectible cards graded. The mail in service is a good alternative to attending a grading event around the country in person. Note that you cannot just show up here with cards to get them graded. Instructions are a little unclear, but you basically download the submission form from their website, follow the instructions to fill it out, and send in the form plus your cards. I put my cards in a hard plastic and then sandwich them between the cardboard from cereal boxes. I like that they keep you updated with confirmation emails every step of the way. For example, you are notified when your order is received, processed, and shipped back. There is sometimes a pretty big backlog of orders (that takes months to process), so if you want your cards back in a timely manner I would pay for one of the faster services. read more

Never send your cards to BGS! They are an inconsistent SCAM! On August 28th, 2016 at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI Mike Trout (1 for 4 that day) signed my 2011 Topps Update US175 rookie card IN PERSON for my then 6-year old nephew, Carter, in blue sharpie. I kept the card for my nephew and eventually sent it to PSA where it was graded a Mint 9 / Auto 10. The PSA slab eventually developed a small pressure crack or something, I'm not sure how, but I decided to crack it, in part because of the cracked slab, and I carefully removed it from the PSA slab (card was not damaged) and decided to send it to Beckett Grading Services. Mostly because I thought it was a BGS 9.5 auto 10, but also because the PSA slab cracked. Beckett returned the card "NOT AUTHENTIC"!? This after spending nearly $280 to have it encapsulated with them!? This company has ZERO credibility and is a 100% SCAM! I'll be re-sending to PSA/DNA, which is after all the FAR better company! read more

Sent cards in to get graded. Paid for next day grading and shipping, took 2 weeks. Got yelled at from a rep in the east for emailing the wrong customer service rep to check on cards. Unbelievable. I sent a few autographs to be authenticated, and they were returned as being inauthentic, with an unsigned form letter listing about 15 reasons why any autograph can be found to be inauthentic, but not any reason why they deemed my examples to be inauthentic. In all professions that I know of, when an opinion is rendered, it is expected that you can back your opinion up with reasons for it. I contacted them and simply asked why my submissions were deemed inauthentic. After at least 10 email exchanges, with a request to have a reason provided, or to have the person who evaluated the autographs tell me why he rejected them, I was told that Beckett is not obligated to provide any reasons why they arrive at their conclusions, and would not even inform the person who looked at my submissions that I had a question about their opinion. I told Beckett that it sure looks like they simply charged my credit card $600+, threw in a form letter saying they were inauthentic without a careful review, and now when questioned about it, they are hiding, not willing or able to provide any reasons for their decision, and protecting the authenticator. They actually told me to Google the autograph to see what an authentic one looked like. Can you imagine how long a referee would have a job if, after throwing a flag, said that a 'rule was broken' and did not name the actual penalty? How long would a judge last if his or her verdict was simply 'guilty' with no reason offered? A surgeon will at least explain why you do or do not need a surgery. After paying $600, I don't think that expecting an explanation is asking too much. Even if it is not their norm, I would think having the request to provide an explanation would be all that it would take to provide one. Instead of putting that suspicion to rest by giving me that info, they thought is was better to not provide an explanation, and leave me unsatisfied, with my suspicion that this was fraud, rather than fix the problem. There is only one reason I can think of to explain why they would not given an explanation: because there wan't one, and they just took my money and moved on the next submission. Scam? Fraud? I have been a customer of Beckett since I was 9-10 years old, about 21 years. I have never asked for any type of refund, until now. On 4/5/17, I purchased online what I thought was the same thing I had purchased many times before. This was online access to Baseball card price guide. Since my last yearly subscription had expired, Beckett had changed its price guide packages. In the past, you could get every year of baseball price guide for $81.00. Now, for $81.00 (minus the $1.62 discount I got for confirming my phone number) you only get the pre 1980 year, which is the exact opposite of what I collect. Immediately after I had made the purchase I realized something was wrong and called Beckett customer service. I was speaking to Alex Collins less than 5 minutes after I hit submit. He explained to me that I had to pay $99.00 more to add the post 1980 price guides. This is an over 100% price increase and I told him I was not interested in paying that much because it is WAY too much money for me to spend on a price guide. Basically, he told me all he would do is gave me 19 months of the post 1980, for the 12 month price of $99.00, but I also had to pay the $79.63 for the post 1980, bringing my total to $178.63. Again, a $97.63 price increase for the same services I was receiving a year ago is unacceptable to me, and something I am 100% not interested in. Beckett can charge whatever they want for their services. My problem is that I was speaking to Alex within 5 minutes that can be confirmed with the recorded conversation and they are unwilling to refund my $79.63. At this point I am over. Beckett and Beckett.com and WILL NOT do any future business with them. Their business model and practices are obviously below what I had always thought. I have gone from very nearly naming my 2nd child Beckett, to putting them on my "avoid at all cost" business list. In fact, this is only the 2nd time I have ever reached out to the BBB. That's how bothered I am. For them to deny me a refund before I used the service, before the charge has even cleared by bank, and within 5 minutes of selecting "purchase" is unacceptable.
