Absolute worst landlord I ever had. Every single interaction with them is unpleasant. The appartment was horribly mainted and not insulated whatsoever so summer was hell even with multiple AC units running. Almost every person I spoke to througout my lease has been unhelpful. Their "maintanence" to our old and barely functioning radiators was to put literal sticks under one of their legs. Thats after paying thousands for the priviledge to live in their slum. Do you want bullshit fees? They have plenty of those too. Honestly, if you can help it I would not rent from them. I had landlords in city of Chicago that were much better then this. Becovic is worse than your average, already questionable and money hungry property management company. Don't get involved with these guys. Beware! From the beginning, there has been nothing but problems. Day one after I moved in, I noticed mold on the wall behind the washer/dryer. I repeatedly attempted to make an appointment with maintenance, but no one ever showed up, so I finally just gave up and attempted to keep the problem at bay by myself. Then came the package theft. After weeks with no response after I sent in info, I was given a rather unapologetic excuse that the cameras pointing at the mailboxes in the lobby were conveniently not working. Still don't believe that one. Then was the creepy guy who kept buzzing everyone's unit with the intercom over and over on a daily basis. I was told by Jessica that they couldn't do anything because of 'covid,' yet I frequently saw your maintenance staff traipsing around the building WITHOUT MASKS. Curious. Then I was told to just call the police on the guy, even though our unit number is listed when you are calling. Yeah, totally safe. Even worse was when we received an email from management that this person was finally kicked out after being known to be a threat to other residents of the building?? And you told us to call the police?? One of the latest issues came about in January of this year when there was a clear case of animal neglect going on in a unit above us. I should have just called animal control when I had the chance. I should not be hearing a dog barking and howling day and night. It is completely unacceptable, and in fact violates your own lease clause where it says noise should be kept at a minimum and not impede on others' quiet enjoyment of their apartment. Repeated complaints to management have been ignored, which is even worse and makes the unit almost uninhabitable, especially when I'm working 100% remotely these days. Not to mention a couple months ago, you taped an aggressive notice to everyone's door about keeping the noise at a minimum due to remote work. Interesting how that worked out. I should mention that I have never in my life dealt with this level of noise in any apartment, so it's not just me or my partner being oversensitive. Personally I have only been in the US for 10 years, and renting apartments for half that time, while my partner has been renting for far longer and has never had such a host of problems with noise from tenants living above him. I'm sure part of it is to do with this building being so poorly constructed and maintained, and another part could be explained by the quality of tenants living here, and the overall complete lack of concern from management. Now our latest issue: The in-person tours during a global pandemic. I so enjoyed how my legitimate complaints were met with complete indifference by Jessica when we spoke over the phone. All she could suggest was leaving, which is not appropriate at this time as I work remotely. And, I'm certainly not vacating my apartment without my cat while strangers are roaming about. I will also mention that it is next to impossible to maintain appropriate social distancing in this literal cave that you're calling a 2 bedroom. We simply do not know where your building staff or others have been before they tour inside the apartment. It's a legitimate concern, but again your staff does not care because it's 'in the lease.' Thanks for the help, I guess. I will add that during our apartment search this past month, it was actually incredibly easy to find leasing agents who were willing to only show us vacant units or do video tours. All of the above is forcing us to lease another apartment a full 2 and a half months earlier than we actually should, as we refuse to be subjected to these living conditions any longer. It sure is a good thing that we have the means to pay rent for two apartments over two months, but it is a decision no one should feel they have to make, and really speaks volumes to the extremely poor quality of this management company. I myself will actively discourage others from leasing with Becovic after this atrocious experience. I can truly say it was worse than living in Northwest Indiana for 3 years. read more

Tried to meet with Kevin to see some apartments. After answering some questions, Kevin told me that he would send me some units to look at. When I emailed him, didn't hear back for some time. I then texted him. Kevin scheduled a showing later that week. In the morning of the showing, Kevin texted me stating that he wanted to reschedule. Something similar happened with another management about a week ago. I have a job and a good credit score and it shouldn't be this difficult to find a good apartment. Aggressive company with high fees. They say they are pet friendly but they charge rent for pets. That is the opposite of being pet friendly.

What a joke. I booked a unit on the lake front for 8 days as I am traveling across country from California to Chicago to see my best friends newborn. The group confirmed and communicated that everything was confirmed, and 5 days from check in, they requested to move us to a different unit. The other unit didn't have the same amenities as the one we originally booked (you can just compare on their website), and so we requested to stay in the original booked unit. They then said nope sorry, we are cancelling this reservation and can't accommodate because of "communication". What type of bs service is this? I manage an AirBNB myself, and it's so easy to be accommodating and helpful. These guys totally blew it, and are careless. Don't rent from them, unless you want a headache. Plenty of more professionals out there to work with, this is crap. read more

I moved in several months ago and my experience has been less than satisfactory. I was really looking forward into moving into the space (7645 N. Sheridan) and while I enjoy the living space and amenities Becovic Group is another story. I had no problem reaching anyone to set up an appointment for viewing in fact, I was able to see the apartment within a few hours of calling. Before becoming a tenant, reaching the leasing dept (primarily w/ Meaghan) was not an issue. Within just a few days after moving in I noticed leaking in the ceiling. I called a handful of times and to my surprise the phones were disconnected. I even left voicemails that were never returned. It has been 2 months and the issue persist. I have put in 5 requests for maintenance. After 2-3 weeks of phones calls and emails I was finally contacted just to be told that they needed to outsource contractors to fix leaks stemming from the roof. As a tenant, this is not acceptable. Aside from the leasing department, everyone has been very nice including onsite maintenance who cleans the common areas daily and the maintenance manager Nate however, the issue is still ongoing. The only reason I've received any kind of response is because I have continued to reach out. Not once has someone initiated contact with me. Meanwhile, my ceiling is still leaking and there is a hole in the ceiling that needs to be patched. The concrete around the pipes had crumbled! I will say, there was another instance I had to call maintenance due to plumbing issues. They responded and addressed it quickly within 24 hours. After speaking with the maintenance manager it sounds like they might be understaffed but that's speculation. I'm still unsure why my primary concern is not being address. There is a lack of communication on their end. The apartment itself is nice w/ more amenities than the average (W/D in unit, onsite gym, dog run and affordable near the lake etc) so if you have the patience to see things through you'll enjoy the space but it comes at a cost. ** Rent with caution ** it seems they are more interested in bringing you on than they are of taking care of you as a tenant, over promising and under delivering. Behind his professionalism he also encouraged me to give it a thought behind what unit my wife and I would want. Or would best suit us. And our new family chapter as newlyweds. Cooper extended his professional and caring manners when we once picked a unit. A third party company had screwed our application up. But Cooper was quick to make sure everything was worked on and fixed. He made it his top priority to ensure we had a fixed on our application and the ideal unit my wife and I picked. Not only did it give me a peace of mind but my wife was more then happy. And so the saying says. Happy wife happy life. What a crapfest. Last night, around 11, a raucous party on the roof suddenly started throwing firecrackers onto the alley below where my bedroom windows are. They didn't stop until midnight, then they started partying in front for a couple more hours. The building at 7710 N. Sheridan makes it almost impossible for me to get a decent night's sleep. They seem to encourage partying at all hours and haven't lifted a finger to stop the situation. If you need a decent night's sleep before you have to wake up and got to work, this place is not for you. I thought this was a nice quiet residential street and the rest of it is. This is the first time I have ever felt it was necessary to write reviews on a company to warn other possible candidates. After falling into financially difficult times while attending school full-time I have communicated with Becovic of my current situation and doing my absolute best financially making up the difference in my balance. However, it seems its not respected or worthy to Becovic that some tenants face financial hardships. In the past two years I have never disagreed with the set amount Becovic sets for its not so worthy apartments especially since some amenities are not functional or have been broken since earlier this year. In the past few days I have been receiving emails from Bibiana Hernandez, which has been a very unpleasant experience and quite stressful. On November 29th Bibiana contacted me of payment, I informed Bibiana that I have ran into financial troubles and was also applying for renters assistance to help take care of the remaining balance until my lease ends on 01/31/24. I had already informed Becovic I will vacate the apartment and wanted to explore the option of terminating my lease sooner than 01/31/24. I was quoted the lease agreement and said that was fine but in the meantime I will continue to make payments to lower my balance. However, Bibiana excessive and passive aggressive manner became noticeable when I kept receiving emails after the constant reminder. I originally informed Bibiana I would be able to make a payment of a certain amount which I luckily was able to lower my balance more than the quoted amount. Because Becovic has me making payments through a pay slip method , local atm's generally have a smaller amount. Which I have communicated several times prior to all future payments. After making a larger payment earlier today, Bibiana responded in an email today stating, "Please be aware if rent is not paid by 12/05/23 your account will be in eviction". Bibiana told me she was aware of the payment made earlier today which brought my balance down very generously but she not once acknowledged nor did she try and ask when the remaining amount will be paid. Like anyone, you grow frustrated and all your hard earned money isn't good enough for this company. The respect and values of this company is not worth peoples money. DO NOT USE BECOVIC! We have had nothing but issues with getting someone to our apartment to fix our unit. We are clean freaks, but that doesn't mean anything to the black mold growing in our bathroom and the ceiling and wall caving in. They promise to send someone to fix it, never call, never show and no one follows up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Run in the opposite direction. This has been going on for months. My bathroom also has issues with the grout in between the tiles. They "redid" it twice now. First time someone showed up, he asked what he was supposed to paint. There was nothing to paint. Not only did he not come for what he was supposed to do...but when he finally started working on redoing the grout, it started falling apart. My boyfriend and I were planning to relocate to the Evanston/Rodgers Park, IL area. I spoke with Jenny with the Becovic Group and she was great! She helped me find apartments that would be available around the time we wanted to move in, and sent links and pictures. We were scheduled to view new, renovated apartments called The Lake Terrace with smart features in the apartment (WiFi lights, smart mirror in the bathroom, etc.) on a Saturday at 1:00pm with an agent. The apartments were beautiful and had stainless steel appliances. The communication with the agent showing us the unit was great, up until he did not show up. He confirmed the showing for 1:00pm and told me he would meet us there at that time. We arrived 30 minutes early to walk around the area, and waited for him at the front entrance 10 minutes before. It ended up being 1:35, 35 minutes late for the appointment with NO text/call update on where he was, that I decided to give the office a call and figure out what's going on. The receptionist was nice and called the agent, which she said another individual was coming to show and will be arriving in 5-10 minutes. 15 minutes later no one had shown up, which made us very irritated and unappreciated, so we called the office again in which she said "he's at the front door." We went to the front door AGAIN, and no one was there after waiting 10 minutes. I received a text from the original agent that was going to show the apartment, apologizing 41 minutes AFTER saying: he went to the office!? I replied telling him I was disappointed in the service. We left and he called making excuses for the whole situation after making us wait for close to an hour! I DO NOT recommend renting from this management group. The customer service was horrible, plus we wasted money and time to come look at this unit all the way from the suburbs! This makes me wonder what the Becovic Group would be like down the road if we were to sign a lease with them. read more

Let me first say that everything I type can be proven by emails, text messages, voice mails, affidavits and other documents. Let me also say that this company has also had many similar complaints within the last 5 years. Racial disparity, housing discrimination, unsanitary conditions, unprofessional staff, harassment, threats and intimidation. First of all I signed a lease with Becovic Management November 30, 2020 through a 3rd party entity (Chicago Housing Authority). From the very beginning Becovic management advertised their apartments as being no: move in fee, security deposit, etc. but 2 weeks after I paid the $75 application fee I was told that I had to pay $450 for the move in fee by (Jenny Drabant). I stated to Jenny at that time that the advertisement on the building said no move in fee, security deposit etc. Jenny then stated that because I was coming in under section 8 the advertisement did not apply to me. I did not argue the point (Discrimination) I paid the fee and other fees and moved in. I was residing in one of Becovic management's buildings in Edgewater Chiicago . Edgewater Chicago is diverse and has a beautiful infrastructure, however the underlying racism exists in a way to control and disrupt the lives of others. I am a straight 64 year old disabled male. Gregarious and respectful to all. Not homophobic, nor am I racist or discriminatory. However, I am very outspoken about being treated unfairly. July 30, 2022 I received an affidavit from Becovic Management stating that they were not renewing my lease. I called the office and spoke with (Cooper Alimorong) asking "why I wasn't given the option to renew my lease"? What he literally stated is "We do not have to legally give you a reason why". (Attitude) According to the Chicago Municipal code landlords, property owners, and other principal parties have to give notice 180 days prior to lease expiration. However, Becovic management failed to realize that Becovic management and myself are also governed by 4 interchangeable contracts dealing with the Chicago housing authority. They are Chicago municipal code, Chicago city ordinance, lease agreement, and the Tenant addendum. According to the Tenant Addendum which supersedes the other 3 just in case there is a misinterpretation of the law : Owners, landlords, property managers, and other principal parties must give the tenant a reason why they are not renewing the lease. Such as remodeling, a relative needs the apartment, criminal activity, etc. However, in their own defense through a complaint I filed in September 2022 through the Chicago Human Relations case 22-H-55 there's a record on file stating on their behalf by their attorneys (we do not legally have to give a reason). Living below the 200% poverty guideline, physically declining, stress and pain and trying to tell Erik Jenkins that I am waiting for the process of the moving papers before moving. According to the lease, if payment of rent is accepted after lease expiration and there is no new lease agreement the rental property automatically goes into a month to month agreement. But on December 16, 2022 Erik Jenkins emailed me and stated that my move out day was near (December 31, 2022) and for me to make preparations to have everything moved from the property. I emailed back and told him that the lease agreement terminated November 30, 2022 and that I am actively trying to find housing, holiday seasons are a stressful time of the year for me. Before I move I will give you a 30 day notice to vacate. He then replied ....you were given notice to move out 4 months ago and if you are not out by the December 31, 2022 you will be charged $100 a day and double the rent. I then replied by reflecting the contract lease and also stating that the latter emails sent to me have been forwarded to housing. He did not respond anymore. I submitted a notice to vacate on December 31, 2022 and moved out January 30, 2023. I'm in a lot of pain from unnecessary and over exert moving. Stressed, relieved, and determined to seek justice. As I stated in the beginning ...any and everything I typed can be proven by emails, text messages, letters, affidavits, and other documents. I don't have much to say, but if you're thinking of renting with Becovic, I'd rethink things. The building itself was kept up very well by the custodial staff. But when it comes to specific problems with our unit, that's when the problem began. The tenant prior to my fiancé and I -apparently had a cat, and during the summer months when the heat intensified the smell of cat urine was so strong, it was almost unbearable. We contacted management through email and series of voicemails to no avail. Every time we called the problem was redirected to another individual, placing the blame elsewhere. After weeks of calling BECOVIC and nothing being done to rectify the issue, we finally reached out to the owner of the property-- . A week later we were met with a non renewal letter on our door. That in itself was a blessing in disguise. We're now with a new Manegment company paying only $20 more for twice as much space, and they actually rectify and work with their tenants when there is an issue, in a timely fashion. Jessica, the so called "business manager" ( not sure what this title is all about because she rarely takes care of any business.) is one of the rudest, unpleasant, unprofessional, unreliable, uneducated individuals I've ever came in contact with. I've had the same experience with a Manegment company who will send you reminders about rent being 5 mins late, but refuses to respond about a simple maintenance issue. read more

Things started quite messy- however, you cannot deny a professional and courteous clean-up. My partner and I decided to visit the Becovic office and get measurements of our unit yesterday. We ended up working with a different employee (Ambar) who literally seemed to have dropped everything she was doing to help us out. She listened to our concerns and validated them. She brought us up to our unit to discuss service requests that had yet to be put through and allow us to have a good conversation about the unit, Becovic and the property itself. She also gave us a really great tour of the building which was much more thorough than what we had previously. It was pleasant to see other residents happily greeting this staff person and the staff person knowing who they were and asking in depth questions in a community setting. She really gave a whole new side of personality to Becovic we hadn't seen prior and we are very thankful for all of her help. After our tour and measurements with Ambar, we had a four-way meeting with our former leasing agent Elise and the property manager Keven. There was frustration on both sides and a need to really clear the air. This was done honestly and openly. Keven apologized and rectified the issues we were having. He openly discussed challenges and future plans to create more comprehensive accountability and in less than 24 hours rectified the biggest challenge and concern we were having. It was explained that the leasing agent we were working with was contracted, so despite that person's misinformation- we are choosing to not include that experience with our updated review of Becovic. The added stress of moving seems alleviated as we can now just settle on the general stress of moving. We are excited to move forward and hope that the folks at Becovic enjoy wine. Because they are about to get a box delivered for their team as a thank you for being accountable and honoring promises that were made by a leasing agent who was unable to make those promises. This shows character and dignity which are both traits that we look for in companies and individual's that we do business with. read more

I moved in August 1st and all seemed decent. Come winter. The place is FREEZING. I mean absolutely freezing. 52 degrees was the inside temperature. I had plastic up (which would keep blowing off) and left the wall unit near 80 to try and combat and it could only bring it to 52. I later came to find out that the windows are bowed down on their top piece and this is creating huge gaps and letting air pour in. When I contacted Becovic, their solution was to "Nail the window shut". When I told them that makes no sense they send someone who was going to install plastic and that's all they could do. That window replacement in winter is not possible (false you just need a different adhesive but they're not willing to spend that extra bit of money, instead they'd rather continue breaking city ordinance). Then the wall heater didn't work. I had their onsite maintenance come to my unit that now said it was 58 degrees and tell me "It feels great in here, it's not cold"; as I'm wrapped in a blanket and have several pairs of sweats on. They finally sent an electrician who checked the heater and he said "We have a problem" and walked out of the unit. They brought in a used heater (again they love to cut cost) which sucks but not as much as the last. Then the thermostat stopped working and they replaced it with another junky old thing. The window solution was said to take place in spring. 4 weeks from my move out date they finally came to replace the window. When I opened the door I said "What do you need me to move?" He responded with "Well which window is it for?" I said both. He told me "No, it's for one, I measured it. You're wrong about both." I was so done with them that I said forget it. Let's move onto the vast amount of construction. They won't do much to help your unit but they will certainly do everything in their power to get the lobby done to make pretty to trick potential renters. The amount of workers they had and how long they were working was insane. It still looks cheap as they had mostly used products and you can see the less than stellar work by not so experienced workers. Random unfinished tile edges popping out, an weird as hell elevator covering but exposed florescent light, odd. The elevator worked for less than 50% of my time here. The freight elevator doesn't work. Shocker. They're probably getting the cheapest labor and parts and that's why it keeps failing. Come the water risers for the building. I'll have a photo of that uploaded. They stated that they were coming later in the afternoon to begin work on my unit. Come 9am they're knocking on my door and tearing my bathroom apart. I asked how long do they think it'll take and Micky (not his real name but the name he gave me) said "it's looking bad, probably about 3-4pm". As I'm chilling out before having to leave for work I see them continuously coming and going from my unit and not closing the door. They would be gone for about 10-15 minutes and then pop back in. That doesn't work for me, so I called Ambar and asked that she tell them to be mindful of personal effects and close the door and lock it when not occupied. I came home at 9:20pm (I have this well documented) and my door is UNLOCKED with no one in it and the bathroom is not put back together. Rather, my place is freezing (The lows that night were in the 30s and I'm top floor) due to a gaping hole that they left from the ceiling to the floor of the bathroom. All over the bathroom was dust, debris, and bugs crawling in. Finally someone came to my unit and said it couldn't be fixed until the next day. I demanded a hotel and was told by Micky "Well, we can't guarantee that you'll be approved for it but you can pay and submit it to the management office" Wait, I am expected to go without a bathroom? Mind you, the unit next door, that was unoccupied but they're trying to rent out was finished way earlier that day. Shady. The bathroom was repaired the next day and I had to use one in an unoccupied unit. When I got home I found that the repairman broke the medicine cabinet mirror and tried to remedy it with electrical tape. The water pressure went south and when they sent someone to fix it, all he did was hit the faucet with a monkey wrench. He also dropped a rusty nail that I only found by stepping on it. Thankfully, I stepped on the head and not the sharp piece. There is a lot wrong with Becovic. They put the image out that they're for quality and I almost want to believe them, they just can't deliver and make weak attempts. Looking at Kevin responding poorly and pointing fingers back at the renter instead of taking the sharper tones and finding something that could benefit their name is very apparent. Also their offering money off rent for a yelp review to hide the truth is sad. Hey, didn't you say you'd report to credit bureaus for those that pay on time? Cause you didn't. read more

Living in this apartment was great at first.. Then came November... My unit cannot hold heat. The floors become ice cold. Cold air sleeps through the closets and windows. My electricity bill is well above $100 because of that ( don't forget this is a small studio). They eventually sent someone out but the only solution was too add a second heater. Sure that may help, but it'll also double my already high Electricty bill. I've stayed and endured this cold winter and told myself to be patient and the winter will be almost over. Well now I find a large amount of mold around my window. I've been a good tenant with zero hiccups. I pay my rent and have never been late. Becovic needs to do something about this issue. First update since moving in Spring 2015 to an Edgewater property managed by Becovic. We had a fantastic 1st year and renewed our lease for 2 more years at the same property. However just months after our initial lease renewal we had some issues arise that we knew were not going to be easily fixed within the unit, and common areas. We addressed our concerns with Becovic in writing (e-mail) for the sake of keeping records. It took about a month to come to an agreement that worked for all parties landlord/Becovic and tenants. I presented my issues with our unit, they advised what our options were: break the lease and pay a great amount of money as a result, transfer to anyone of their other available units at current market rent (they made it super easy to view other units even evenings), or assist in locating a sub-leaser for our unit. At first we attempted to sublease our unit or find another renter that didn't work out for our time-frame and it was nearing October when less people are willing to move. We then decided to look at other units in the same price range to attempt a transfer but nothing met our criteria. We ended up having to transfer to a unit that is much more expensive - however we are THRILLED with our new unit! It has everything we did not realize we missed such as in unit laundry, dishwasher, central heat and air, and a large private balcony with amazing views and a fantastic location close to everything. I had to give up Edgewater which I loved for Rogers Park, but well worth the move and the little extra time commuting. In the end Becovic came through and really kept their professional demeanor when I at times I did not. I was highly stressed about our situation and lack of time to deal with any issues. As such I may have taken out my annoyance on the staff at times even if just in writing. However they were always professional and never stopped attempting to keep us happy and keep as residents. Becovic staff does their best to come through for their residents. Residents like myself need to understand some issues cannot be addressed overnight and more importantly you need to communicate with your management - they do not know issues exist unless someone lets them know. This includes little items like smoking inside the building/units units are promoted as smoke free, overflow of garbage, unruly tenants and guests, overcrowded apartments, un-kept common areas speak up and let your management know before it becomes a BIG problem. Do not let bad tenants ruin your building speak up and keep at it, someone will eventually listen. Give Becovic a chance you will be happy you did. Handle all your requests, including rent payment online and they report to the credit bureau every month - it helps build credit when you pay on time. :) read more

I live in The Kenmore Building (5860 N. Kenmore Ave.) and my apartment is great for the rent, but.... Don't move into an apartment here if you don't like taking the stairs. There's an elevator, but it's ALWAYS broken, so really consider this before you decide to live on the 8th floor. I'm a very clean person, and I've had problems with mice and silverfish since I've moved in. They do pretty well responding to maintenance requests, but the problem is only ever fixed temporarily. The TV in the gym and the vending machine have never worked. And be prepared to plunge your toilet a lot. The hot water in the bathroom is too hot, and the hot water in the kitchen sink takes 5 minutes to kick in. There's also no air conditioning, and the power goes out every now and then. And be prepared to spend an hour looking for a parking spot. There is a fire hydrant across the street, so that's a good place to park temporarily while moving in or bringing in groceries. Coin operated laundry sucks, and there's no trash chute, so that's a bummer. But I've had no issues with loud neighbors! Just lots of bugs. read more

I have been Living in Becovic apartments for 4+ years. 1st apartment (1456 Fargo) there were tenants that would let their dogs poop in the hallways. 2nd apartment (1609 Juneway) tenants would smoke mariguana in their apartments and nothing would be done about it. I also complained about roaches and they took a week to actuallydo something, though the roaches returned a few weeks later thus why i moved again. Now in my third apartment (6826 Ridge) where they have a maintenance person who just sits down in his room all day long. He parks and does whatever he wants. Now that they have a tenant that is a new home owner they take it personal and start doing ridiculous charges. They discriminate against dogs due to stereotypes. (Pits are amazing dogs). They have an all pets welcomed flyer but yet discriminate on breeds. They accept another tenant with an approved dog breed that launched at others and is aggressive. They normally send text to warn tennant guests to move vehicles from parking lot. But maintenance guy took it upon himself to call the tow truck. Apparently they try to jeopardize for their benefit. $500 for having well behave dogs. $200 for a tow. When others get a text notification. Would recommend looking for better apartments not owned by Becovic. They are not what you are looking for. read more

This company is very mediocre. They will promise the world just to keep you on the hook. I know someone who has been with them for 4 days, and so far, all four days have been mediocre at best. It was a rocky move-in process with essential components of an apartment not functional. There is a lot of disconnect within the management. I would recommend paying a little bit more for other property management companies for a lot better customer service. The property is very nice, but definitely was not "move-in ready" as promised. I hope in the days to come the proper repairs will be made. Since the move-in, there has been no water pressure, and the windows freeze from the inside of the apartment causing problems with keeping the heat inside the apartment. If these issues can be fixed in a timely manner (as promised by Becovic), I would gladly change my view about Becovic. read more

TERRACES AT PERIDIA - BRADENTON Disappointing application experience ----- SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO TGM PALM AIRE, same prices and nicer area. Made an appointment with Carlee, which was a mess as she only went over a 3D layout of the apartment. She requested us to come back to the complex hours later which compensated for that, but she ended up just sighing and texting on her cell phone the entire time. Application process was insane. An application is needed along with 3 recent pay stubs and an Employment verification. Since I do work for a large company she had to call the employee verification line. Gave her all the information she needed - which she later called me said in a negative "I had to pay to use that line. can you just have your manager fill out this document " which really doesn't make much sense since my paystubs reflect the same exact information she wants. It rubbed me the wrong way that she also had to tell me she had to pay for verification when thats what application and admin fees are for. Later on she tried to sweet talk us that she was going to give us a 2 bed room- as one suddenly became available which got our hopes up as she later she told us "we make too much money and don't qualify for it" so we had to settle for a one bedroom. THEN we were asked for a cosigner CAUSE WE DONT MAKE ENOUGH MONEY- which we sent all the persons information. Mind you this person has a government job and makes a pretty good amount of money. She later stated that she barely "by a scratch" doesn't make enough. Which I find crazy. Then again request for someone to cosign that makes 4X the amount of rent, which would have to be someone that makes roughly $65 an hour which to me is a little crazy for an apartment in oneco. We later were contacted by Carlee to see if we had found another cosigner. The best part of it all: We told her to take us off the list (as we were not able to find a cosigner) WHICH we wanted to express our CONCERNS QUESTIONS,Carlee said " OKAY" and instantly disconnected the call. When I moved into the building, there was another management company running the show, which were pretty cool. People working for the company really needs to have some sort of customer service training. They are rude and difficult to communicate with. The cost of living is high, the things they offer is super low. The only cool people are the maintenance people. But the actual management is horrible. So far this company has been the worst management company of my life. Complete scam. COMPLETE scam in renovated apartments. They are not redone truthfully. It is a cheap redone with way higher rent for no reason. Tell me why a 800 sq foot apartment cheaply redone is more than a 1200 sq ft apartment We have had issue after issue after issue. Also a hint of racism was shown. I will be informing others about this management company. I can't wait to escape here. Update: have made requests for our door to be fixed three months ago. DO NOT RENT WITH BECOVIC: I had been living at a location Near Loyola University for about 2 years now, and I must say my experience with Becovic has been completely horrible. When you first view the unit, it appears that everything is up to par and that you are buying a (semi) luxury unit and Becovic goes over the top to lure you into renting with them, but in actuality it's a nightmare. from the terrible costumer service to run down "renovated" units, and tons of hidden fees. When I viewed the unit, they claimed there would not be a move in fee or pet rent, shortly after applying and getting approved for my apt, I get hit with a a move in fee and pet fee for my dog which was well over $500 in total. The buildings smell of sewage & mold. I've submitted numerous complaints about this, but the issue was never fixed. My apartment apartment smelled of sewage anytime I ran water or flushed the toilet. The hallways have a seemingly permanent foul smell, despite maintenance cleaning about once a week. There is a pest problem, rats around the building and roaches that I've complained about that must be coming from other units because I kept my home fairly clean, and centipedes (though that is kinda common). Once the dream is sold to you, it becomes a nightmare very quickly. And the staff is some of the rudest, condescending, unprofessional people you will deal with (after you sign the lease of course). The person who originally showed the unit also told me there would be a place to store my bike that I use daily for school and work at no extra charge, and once I moved in and inquired about the bike storage, you'll never guess what happened next, I was charged another fee for that as well. I've also been locked out of the building due to failing fob locks at least 4 times just this year as well as my classmate/friend who stays at their other units close by. This is no place to move your family or pets (especially if they have mold allergies or sensitivities) or for students who have to manage tuition. They are slumlords and I am so glad I do not have to deal with them any longer. I should've trusted the reviews when I first read them. read more
