I really appreciated the time Jill and Scott spent with us over breakfast telling us about the history of Fairbanks and giving us tips about what to do and where to go for dinner. I loved hearing about the history of the house and looking at all the black and white photos from over 100 years ago. Thank you for making it one of the best vacations we've ever had!

My dad and I had the opportunity to stay here on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. We just needed a quick place to stay for one night in Fairbanks as we had another flight to Bettles the following morning. So, so many regrets - I wish we had at least two nights here! The place is listed on the National Register of Historic Places!!! How awesome! We stayed in the William Room ($131) which was on the first floor of this beautifully historic bed and breakfast located in the heart of Fairbanks. The manager (?), Melanie, greeted us and got us checked in for the night. We were able to make ourselves feel at home even with all of the antiques everywhere. I was truly amazed and got out my DSLR to take some more photos. We did our laundry every chance we got during our five-week trip so I was quite thankful Melanie allowed us to use the washer and dryer which were located in the basement. Although each room seemed to be booked, we actually didn't see many other guests during our short stay. Like I mentioned before, our stay was short and we had to leave to get back to the airport pretty early. Melanie was so gracious to accommodate us and still provide breakfast despite it being before the normal breakfast time - I really appreciate that! The pancakes, sausage, and fresh fruit were all incredible and I'm not just saying that - it was one of the best breakfasts of the entire trip! I'm going to let the pictures show how great this place is but I do want to note this is one of the oldest buildings in Alaska, built in the 1916s (I think) by a wealthy man to court a female to Fairbanks. It was sold a short while later to author Mary Lee Davis and has since changed owners upwards of 11 times. It's been restored and decorated to reflect the early 19th century. Check out the pictures but more importantly, book a stay here!

My dad and I stayed in the nannyberry room, which had two twin beds and a private bathroom. There was obviously a lot of thought put into everything they provided- there's an outlet with USB ports, many hooks for all your gear, 2 (!) luggage racks, a fridge, sound machine, and an actual alarm clock. You can control the heat within your room, and there's a fan to help circulate. There's also an oscillating fan in the closet. They ask you to take your shoes off outside the room, they can certainly get dirty! I loved the quality of the linens and the thick towels, along with bathrobes. The hosts were fine about us arriving after midnight and left a key and great directions for us. Service could have been a bit more friendly but every question we asked was answered. The one thing missing is displaying or communicating the WiFi password to you. Lots of free parking and definitely a great price.

Our room was comfortable, quiet and tastefully furnished. Note that this is a home in the midst of a residential neighborhood, so it did not fit our notion of a lodge. This is not meant as a negative, but rather it just did not fulfill our uninformed expectation. Also, it is 10-15 minutes to get to the airport, train station, or downtown, which was fine for us but to some it may matter. We highly recommend the accommodations if you are looking for a delightful night in Fairbanks.

Bill's breakfast/brunch is AMAZING, something both me and my love one are missing now that we are back in CA. The place is new and very close to the city and easy access to Chena Hotsprings, it's perfect for us. We got the Jacuzzi room and paid a bit more for it, it was totally worth it for us. The room is huge and we got everything we needed in the room, the host even provided a set of toiletries in case you forgot! The kitchen and living room is very nice, although we did not get to use it much. The place is immaculate and we are so very pleased with this booking. Also, Bill is such a great person, he has a ton of knowledge and talking to him seemed like I have learned so much about Alaska and other aspects of living. BONUS: we saw one of the best Northern Lights/Aurora right from the deck of this place! Highly highly recommended.

I was foretold that they were short-handed regarding housekeepers, so this wasn't something I was surprised by. However, the food residue in the microwave and the cleanliness of the floors were a little off putting. If you were to walk around barefooted, you'd find your feet blackened in no time. The office is quaint, but a little confusing as it was a residential home turned into an office. This isn't horrible or anything, but can be slightly puzzling since the rooms aren't connected physically to the office. This all being said, the employees were (again) very kind and Marina even helped me with my luggage.

Upon entrance we walked to front desk and I told him I have a pic on my phone with a good clear pic he said he needed original. So I asked for a refund. He told me it depends on my bank how fast I get my refund back. I'm barely making ends meet these days. I went mumbling out cuz if he would have stated the rules I wouldn't have rented. Rules are given before a game, rules are given before your child goes into daycare. Why weren't they given when I walked in. I'm 51 years old and had to sleep in my car because I couldnt afford another room without my refund. Hopefully after this review i hope rules are read or told before renting too.
