The two-for-one price is an EXCELLENT value. The two food delivery bags/packaging was very securely sealed. All of the food was DELICIOUS! Delivery was on time too. I will never order from Bed-Stuy Fish Fry in the Bronx again. I placed a pickup order and received a notification that it was ready at 7:11 p.m. I arrived at 7:20 p.m., only to be told it wasn't ready. After waiting another 30 minutes, I was told it still wasn't in the kitchen. At that point, it had been nearly an hour since I was notified that my order was supposedly ready. To make matters worse, the staff was rude, dismissive, and condescending instead of apologetic or helpful. With so many great dining options at Bay Plaza, there's no reason to waste your time here. The yams were sweet and cooked with a lot of love. The fried fish was a bit on the brittle side or it was simply overdone in my opinion. The lower star count is for that reason only. The food here is good, but the ordering system is completely broken and needs a major overhaul.I went in last night for a takeout order and the counter was completely overwhelmed with about 25 to 30 delivery pickup orders. When I arrived, I asked the employee at the counter if they were accepting in-store orders. She said yes, asked for a moment, but then completely went back to filling delivery orders. Shortly after, another woman--who appeared to be the manager--asked the room if anyone was waiting to place a takeout order. I spoke up again to place my order for shrimp with a double side of mac and cheese.Right after I stated my order, she told me I would have to wait a long time because she had to finish all the delivery orders first. When I pointed out that they shouldn't take in-store orders if they can't actually accommodate them, she insisted they were open for walk-ins, despite prioritizing the massive mountain of delivery tickets ahead of me.It makes no sense to actively ask for walk-in customers just to make them sit and wait behind dozens of apps. I've been buying here for a while since they open in the bay plaza mall. It never disappoints me when I go here. Love the food. I don't like all the desserts I can say that but the food is good. I always get the fried chicken plus two side it never fails and I also have gotten the salmon wish is delicious and the turkey wings but I usually get the fried chicken. When you go in the store if there is a line it takes a little bit of time but the service is pretty ok not bad at all. Not a bad place to eat from. It's just better when it's on a good day. In the co op city location in particular it would pay to be consistent. My biggest complaint is that the fish did not appear to be cleaned properly. Some of the whiting pieces I received still had tails on and the tail end was not fully cleaned and de scaled. The fish definitely tasted like it had been fried twice or was sitting under a heat lamp too long with too much oil. The fish was not moist it was very dry and the breading was very greasy. It started as a great spot for fish and meat dishes and other tasty sides. The place stayed crowed with the line out the door. The servers were friendly and engaging to the customers. The thrill is gone, and so is the friendly service atmosphere. They never seem to have food readily available or run out of food during a certain time of the day.
